I don't think the romantic type of love is special, and I think that the romantic type of love isn't real. I mean about more than half of romantic couples either break up with each other or divorce each other. I think humans should just ditch concepts like dating, marriage, and pair bonding. I feel like this world would be a much better place without romance than it is with it.
Studies prove single, childless, women are the HAPPIEST demographic. Women are the happiest when single and focused on themselves.
Statistically speaking, women are happiest when single and childless in today's times. Also, women can have friends and biological family that they share a life with. We as humans need the presence of other humans in our lives yes. But we can live alone. We don’t need romantic relationships to survive. We do need love and support, but it can be from friends and family. It does not need to be from a romantic partner.
Studies also show that single women are far happier than their married peers, and that married women lose out in career earnings, career trajectory, health, and life expectancy compared to those single peers as well.
Married women live shorter lives, and report lower levels of happiness than women who never marry. Single women live longer than married women. Also, according to many studies, women have higher rates of depression when married.
Star and Marco are great, but one of the things I love about it is that it's realistic. Their romance is founded on friendship, but that friendship goes through genuine tests. They have to grow and change to remain friends and get together.
For neither Star nor Marco, the feelings are immediate. They grow as they spend more and more time together.
Star does genuinely try to help Marco win over Jackie, but only once he's succeeded does Star realize how much that breaks her own heart. So, what does she do? She bottles up those emotions and keeps them hidden in hopes that they'll go away because she knows that Jackie makes Marco happy.
But they don't go away, and soon she's faced with the possibility of never seeing Marco again. There, she finally admits the feelings she's held in for so long. She leaves Marco shocked, confused, and worried and goes back to Mewni because she has to, not because she wants to.
By the time they see each other again, Marco and Jackie have broken up but Tom and Star have started dating again. This pushes Marco to question the depth of his own feelings for Star, and the "safe kid" takes one giant risk in telling her his true feelings towards her.
And finally, when they're in the magic dimension where they're slowly losing their minds, Marco admits to Star that he loves her. A feeling she reciprocates at this point. But, knowing Marco doesn't remember saying this, she waits until they have some alone time to tell him she remembers what he said to her.
Star might have one of the most powerful magical artifacts that exists, but it can't force Marco to fall in love with her. He has to fall for her on his own, in his own time. The romance happens slowly and naturally, as so many do in real life.

I have a question. How do males and females bond with each other? I don't see how men and women can bond (especially romantically) with each other. Men and women think very differently from each other. It seems like it's impossible for men and women to emotionally connect with each other.
Women do emotionally connect with other women, better than men do. Women can build incredible friendships and become very close to each other in a way men can't bond, and science shows that women can bond very well with each other. Generally, women are even more social than men are. After something bad happens, a woman quickly rushes to talk to all of her female friends to get support, whereas a man can isolate himself and grief alone.
Women tend to be more emotionally intelligent, more caring, more empathic, more compassionate, more affectionate, more loyal, more nurturing, more understanding, more sympathetic, more sensitive, more kind-hearted, more peaceful, more calmer, more gentle, more expressive, more intuitive, and more outward than men are, and thus bond more with other women in a special way that they can’t with men. Men, on the other hand, are not that emotional, and thus can’t bond with other men in a special way. Women regulate emotion better.
Women are more comfortable being around with other women than they are with men. They have a type of bond that usually men with women won’t really have, or with men and men. Also, girls that are friends touch each other in ways that guys just don’t.
