This guitar is sick, sick, sick!
yes, yes, yes!
I know many people said this before me, but it can't be stressed enough - this is honestly one of the most professional looking and sounding guitar-related channels on UA-cam. I'm really glad I got here somehow 👌
Thanks a lot Johnny!
That guitar suits you so much dude
💪🏻
100%
Great tune, beautiful guitar.
Awesome playing, hope fender let's you keep it.
Yup, it's miiiiine now :)
That’s a cool copper color, the tortoise pick guard matches well too. Love the sound of this jazzmaster.
what if you were the real krist. That would be fun
I feel like a black pickguard would have been wicked on this! Copper and black go so well together.
You are on another level!
Dude! Opening track sounds so killer. 👏👏👏
Thanks!
Never thought I'd see a MIM for the former price of an American
Underrated comment 👆
Especially when the j mascis jazzmaster is almost as good for 500.
Been thinking the same since I first saw it.
Its called inflation, the cost of labor goes up.
@@Thumpopotamus not inflation when the laborers don't get paid anymore than they did 15 yrs ago
Instant subscription! Your tone is definitely out of this world!
Thanks man, and welcome!
Didn’t know there was a new one! I almost bought the oxblood one a few years back but settled on a 60’s Jazz with that green nitro finish... which I sold (like a moron) two years later. I miss it so much...
maple fretboard with block inlays FTW!
That was a japan made ones feature I think..
Great playing as always man
Thanks a lot!
Sounds killer.. still trying to snag an old oxblood but DAMN I promised myself if Fender ever released a maple fretboard with square black inlays for a guitar (as opposed to bass), that I would drop everything and get it because I love the retro look 😍 I do remember Troy saying he preferred rosewood boards for a jazzmaster but I'm sure whatever "darkness" comes from the rosewood can be added into the pedal EQ somewhere. It just looks so good! I am tempted to swap the pick guard for black so the whole thing matches but that might be me...
Dude the opening bit my have been my favorite from you yet!
Glad to hear it! I think its my favorite too ;)
Sweet intro dude, keep rocking 🤙🏼
Greetings from Mexico 🇲🇽!
Hey, thanks!
I felt in love since the first time I saw her. It's beautiful
Nice drumming!
maaan your channel deserves so much more attention. the amount of time, energy, and MONEY you put into these videos is outstanding. every time i talk to one of my guitar friends i recommend you channel because they’re just so high quality. thank you man
thank you, that means a lot! I don't know - it goes in waves with this channel. Sometimes I get good views, and now I don't. Don't know what it is really!
Living Room Gear Demos then you youtube algorithm needs to fix itself lol. have a great day
It's beautiful. I'm not too big on signature models but this is one I'd play for sure
Same, fell in love with the oxblood one. I love how Troy made reasonable modifications that didn’t completely denature the original concept. The guy has heaps of class
Great video, i always love your stuff especially when it's about qotsa. The maple fretboard aspect of this guitar is the most important for me, i always prefer maple. I love how it sounds and feels, also how it brings out the beauty of the guitar. I think the copper color would have been lost with a darker fretboard. This is the same price as a usa made jazzmaster however it looks like it's worth it. I was just looking to get a jazzmaster but still not sure if i will order this one. I own a pair of pointy shoes though, maybe i should
hahaha I loved the subtitles for the Viking Language XD Maple fretboard with black block inlays.... oh so hot!
I have collected mine at locale music shop today.Ordered and one week of waiting
Cool guitar 🎸
Cool demo man. Very fitting for the guitar. I love the finish, however the maple fretboard is not my cup of the, but each to their own. I think with this brighter finish an ebony fingerboard would have been cooler But again, this just me. Love the intro song.
The definitive jazzmaster.
So sick. While I prefer the Oxblood finish of his original signature I am intrigued by the maple board and black inlays.
I have the Oxblood. My buddy’s trying to get the money together for this one. Definitely two of the coollest signature model guitars!
Great demo and playing. Guitar looks amazing and its really nice to see it has some modern features. Is this new model also wired 500k volume and tone pots as previous TVL model? thanks
i love you and that guitar
😎
Dude, that opening playing was rad!!! Was that all original)
Holy shit it looks SO GOOOOD 😍
Even better in person? ;)
@@LivingroomGearDemos oh yesh, been waiting for this video ever since the day I saw it in your studio. Only thing I don't like is the black inlays, but fuck me I want that guitar
@@LivingroomGearDemos what fuzz is that on 5:21????
Fuzzrocious 420 fuzz!
Yes totally ! You should have dressed up for this video ! Hahaha I don't like the colours of the guitar but damn it sounds good and really suits you like other person said, great video as always
haha I should’ve !
Thanks man!
Besides QOTSA/rock tones, this is also a perfect surf guitar.
Such a good job on the jam in the beginning. What a looker she is
Thanks!
6:29 MISFIT LOVE !!!
I love your videos and this guitar review!!! Wanted your advice on the guitar. I am looking at buying a Jazzmaster and I'm seriously considering the Troy Van Signature in Copper Age. I was just skeptical about whether the guitar can handle heavier gauge strings since I've noticed that Fender ships it with 9 gauge strings. I like playing 10s and have heard many people complain about how the Jazzmaster trem system gets stiff with heavier gauge strings. Would love to hear what you think and any advice you may have. Thanks
Man… your production and opening track is out of this world, great and awesome job well well welly done!
P.s.: I’d love to hear how you produced that, also, have you heard about @LiscielFranco ‘s VariMU Maletomp compressor? That’s some incredible equip !
Again, awesome video and intro!
Thanks! And lucky you, I have a video on how I produced this track. Right here: ua-cam.com/video/--QtJMz-cvA/v-deo.html
@@LivingroomGearDemos Awesome! Your tone and reviews are out of this world, man.
Btw, I have oxblood but still considering this new color, TVL and QOTSA have such an influence on my tastes and tone too. Baita Valew e
Skäl!
beautiful review as always....just a question...standard tuning for this video? thanks
Dude! You MUST do a video like DETAILED on how do you record and mix your process. Really, that's huge! Show us your secret!
I did one not too long ago. Not detailed enough?
@@LivingroomGearDemos I saw that one, but for me It seems that your game is up! I'm a mixer engineer (from Brazil) and I really love the technically part of it. If you could do a new one, more detailed would be awesome!
Great video!
Dude, that intro song fuckin’ RIPS! Have you done a full version? Where can I hear your music?
I’m really enjoying this channel. I wish I could exclaim ‘pickled herring!’ in Norwegian as a sort of psyched compliment. That’s s pretty boneheaded I guess,.. ok how about ‘rock ‘n roll!” In Norwegian?!!
Subbed, I like the channel.I found it because I'm interested in the guitar. Great demo but please, tell me what the first song is. Is it Qotsa? I love them but I dont know the song and want to learn it. Thanks!
that guitar is so pretty
Question: Just received the oxblood model. It didn't come with the Trem arm. (thought it was supposed to) What trem arm do I need to buy?
Does anyone know if this has the same neck profile as the oxblood version thanks.
I have the Oxblood one. It’s my baby. I love it even more than the Eastwood GP
I might just have to make the next guitar a Jazzmaster :)
The Oxblood one is unbeatable. Just for vampires.
Nice!
With good reason as the eastwoods are 🤢 (had one, sold it)
Honna Conna it’s great for playing early queens and Kyuss songs. My minor gripe with it is that I don’t find it’s the most versatile guitar. I wouldn’t get rid though. What it does it does very well
That intro song is badass
thank you!
Looks and sounds awesome. I had the oxblood version for a few days. The setup was horrible and had sharp edges at the fret ends (fingerboard too dry I guess). Gave it a setup and some lemon oil. But still sharp edges. I sent it back to Thomann even though I really loved the tone of the pickups :(
that sucks. They should've been able to fix that though!
Ugh. That’s what I’d be afraid of. This guitar is very expensive for MIM, it’s almost 2x more than the Player JM and it’s more expensive than the American Performer JM so it shouldn’t have typical MIM issues. I wonder if reviewers get guitars that get special attention before marketing sends them out.
@@TheBenb1999 Yeah if you're really keen on trying one, I recommend ordering from somewhere with a good return policy. Maybe I was just unlucky and it was stored for a long time. The copper one is new so maybe you're lucky ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Seems is a lottery, because I own also the Oxblood one and (yes the setup was still not the best one) but after put it into the luthier ... man what a guitar. 10/10
Well, I guess it's time to sell all my guitars. Absolutely brilliant view of an amazing guitar, really suits you!
haha! thanks!
Still prefer the oxblood version but this is growing on me ha
Annnnnd I’ve bought one 🤦♂️🤣🤣🤣
Which color
Honna Conna 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Man I hope they keep making the oxblood one. That's my all time dream guitar!
Nice video bro, anyway is.that mexico or made in usa ?
The Oxblood's neck was too thick for me when Itried it in store - do you reckon this has a slimmer profile?
omg en norsk gitar youtuber, TAKK
🇳🇴🇳🇴🇳🇴🇳🇴🇳🇴
So whats your thoughts 3 years later? Thank you !
Great review thanks! But I still don't know which Jazzmaster to buy. I also like Troy (and have his Yamaha signature) but an "American Professional II" is not even that much more expensive. What to buy?
Hmm, difficult. I haven't tried the Am Pro 2 Jazzmaster yet, so hard to recommend one. I'm assuming this one is a bit more brighter than the Am Pro 2.
Maple neck defenatly affects tone. I can hear the difference with my closed eyes... Brightness and mids tweak a bit.... You can tell.
I just got one of these! Is it normal for the high and low e saddles to be a little smaller and lower than the four in the middle?
Yes, its to compensate for the fretboard radius.
I understand that this guitar is manufactured in California and assembled in Mexico. All parts and electronics are American Fender.
Other than aesthetics, is it any different to the Oxblood TVL Jazzmaster?
Lurer på det samme. Klarer. Ikke. Velge. Bare. Én.
No
Man the original oxblood red Troy sig is my absolute dream guitar. Really hope they continue to make that colour before prices sky rocket and then I'll really never be able to get one. (like the KC mustangs) Never been a fan of maple fretboards on a jazzmaster but this looks stupid nice! Wicked playing as well.
nvm got one half price.. :) now I need a KC jag.
What pedal do you use in the solo at 8:00...?? Sounds killer!!!
I meant 8:17 onwards... xD
Whats the pedal youre using that sounds like a whammy? Maybe it is a whammy?
Digitech Ricochet
What pedals are you using at 8:06? Sounds so cool.
The octa fuzz is a pyu pyu electronics fun machine. And then I kick in the digitech ricochet
@@LivingroomGearDemos Thanks man. Huge fan of your videos.
Are the pickups noisy with high gain? Thanks
There will always be some noise with singles coils and high gain, but it don't really mind it.
There is a difference between fretboard material both in sound and play feel though
Please elaborate, Obi Wan.
Roasted maple would have been cooler. Love that look and feel.
Looks great!
Sounds a little cheap though, a thicker neck would help for sure. A custom shop spec one would do it for me, maybe I’ll build my own!
God I want one so bad, maybe the oxblood one though
What is that intro song? Sounds so good
Something I made for the video! Thanks!
@@LivingroomGearDemos okay wow. Get it on spotify pls and ty
What Fuzz at 5:30? Sounds awesome.!
Fuzzrocious 420 Fuzz!
Høres jævla bra ut.
are you playing the drums? good job!
I'm trying to learn it!
What about the rosewood one ?
the oxblood one? Think you still can get it. Seems so at Sweetwater at least.
Living Room Gear Demos what gauge strings did you put on it ?
How does this compare with the American? £1200 is a lot to pay for a Mexican fender.
i would pay good money for the USA version ... why only Mexico ? , damn..
Because the country of origin doesnt matter
The body is older?
He said Alder.
😑
$1,600 for a made in Mexico?
Man, I almost forgot Jesse Plemons played guitar
Lol, my wife gets mad every time I get that comment. Watch out
'Van Leeuwen' is Dutch for 'from Lions' hahaha :p
In Dutchs it's pronounced: 'Van Léééééwen'
Should he know that?
Love the color!
If this had a dark neck it would be so sweet
I prefer the maple!
Can’t help but feel like that thing would look way better w a black guard
Intro song sounds like a Jojo opening
Is that good or bad?
Guitar looks sick but sheesh 7.25 radius is just too round....
too expensive for a MIM
Its nice, but im not paying 1500$ for a mexican fender
This video is sponsored by Fender but you’ll be objective. You have on objection about the neck... but in fact not...
I don’t have anything about sponsored videos, I just think they should be speechless.
You need practice. Now go away.
:/
@@LivingroomGearDemosLiterally my favorite guitar player on UA-cam dude. This guy doesn’t know wtf he’s talking about. Also - just ordered one of these. Had to come back to this video.
