Enjoyed the clip Cal Not too long lure fishing for Bass but I must try a night session when I’m down in beautiful Brandon bay Co Kerry again , might be in September 🤞🤞☘️☘️☘️
Thanks 👍🏼 If you’re relatively new to lure fishing I’d suggest trying somewhere with easy access to start with. The location you mentioned sounds familiar, I’m sure I’ve seen others fish for bass round there. Could be a good place to start. I hope you get into some fish. Thanks for the comment 👍🏼🎣
I live in the northwest , only had one bass this year , but have been told that a commesial boat has been granted a bass licence to net them , how is it that we are limited to keep rwo ? Crazy !
That looked good fun . Just started catching here in Devon , planning a night session this week if these easterlies drop a bit . Your videos always boost my enthusiasm . Thanks Mark
I'm fitting some more mounts to it today. When we next get some settled weather I'll be out, I'll be doing some lure fishing first but I also want to do some light ledgering too.
Definitely yeah. I fish straight from the shore on a certain sandy beach quite often, especially through winter. Just look for any depressions in the ground. Anywhere that will hold food for the bass or any structure etc.. The beach I fish has a drop off of about a foot or two so if you fish it at a certain state of tide it can be very productive.
Hi mate I’m new to bass lure fishing so I’m hoping to pick your brain… I’m just wondering do the weedless lures have a slight glow in the dark feature? Just wondering how the bass possibly see them under complete darkness because there’s no shine to them soft lures is there? Do you need to fish on a full moon etc? Thankyou in advance
Thanks a lot. Yeah I find a slow retrieve best at night, especially when using soft plastics. I think a slower retrieve at night gives the fish a little more time to find/hear the lure.
@@FISHINGWITHCAL Thanks. Very helpful. A couple of ‘Y/Tubers’ have said similar. I’m hoping to get down to Devon in a week or two and try some night fishing 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻. Thanks again keep ‘em coming👍🏻

Cheers Nigel 👍🏼
Always interesting and good to watch
Glad you liked it, thanks a lot 👍🏼
Very nice session! How do you retrieve the dolive stick?
@@Spinningology On this occasion it was a very slow retrieve. Bumping it on the bottom on a slow sink and draw retrieval.
cheers cal
Great video again Cal 👍
Cheers
Well done. I didn't see any weights in your offset hook. Did you use carolina or texas rig ?
I don’t use a Carolina or Texas rig for bass over here. I fish the lure straight from the leader.

When’s the kayak coming out to play?

Would you recommend night bass fishing from a fine sand beach

Great videos, enjoying them all thanks and we’ll done. Q, Do you find a slow gentle retrieval is better at night?
Thanks a lot. Yeah I find a slow retrieve best at night, especially when using soft plastics. I think a slower retrieve at night gives the fish a little more time to find/hear the lure.

I don't think they ever left haha. There seems to be lots of small ones around. Yeah we'll have to get out sometime 👍🏼
@@FISHINGWITHCAL yeah loads of small ones 👍👍🎣
what hook size did you use on the osp dolive stick
On this occasion we were using 2/0 hooks. I’d use anything from 2/0 - 4/0 with these type of lures.
