Ah yes, OW, the game that rebranded itself, delivered on 0 promises, has one of the worst balance team of all times is definently not going to be taken over by a game that is quite literally delivering on all fronts.
I am not one of those people, see OW has been out for soooo long since the age of tutankhamun, he use to play OW. So OW has the better overall experience. But for an alpha version, RIVALS is actually good.

And overwatch is in the same category as tf2 and is very similar, but not a clone. There are completely different characters, maps, game modes, and more consistent up dates. Is it likely overwatch used tf2 as HEAVY influence? Most certainly. Did overwatch originally copy tf2's characters? Probably, with minor adjustments. But overwatch, and definitely overwatch 2, are very different games from tf2.

Fr Team fortress 2 outliving ow1 isn't pure luck but because of 'careful' programming on the game whilst ow1 was great but ow2 stained it's legacy with lies and terrible gameplay, not saying it's actually terrible but it's fine at first then it gets repetitive and boring 😔

CSGO still has absurdly high numbers of players. Valorant doesn't really post numbers but there has been no real sign of the gaming losing a significant chunk or even losing many at all. Paladins in comparison, is absolutely fucking fried lmao. I mean it PEAKED at 60k...That's not even close to a meaningful success lmfao. To even put paladins in the same conversation as OW and TF2 is some insane shit because both those games had literally like 10-20x the players across the launchers and consoles.

So most people wouldn't bother swapping a launcher. I personally hate the game PERIOD it was just not my genre of shooter. But to assume it isn't still extremely popular and heavily played is just stupid lol. It is in fact, still critically acclaimed. Might not be anymore, but it was. And again their players are still WELL above a lot of other FPS games in the genre. Because again the majority are still on bnet launcher and steam STILL has 30-40k daily concurrent. So the game is sitting pretty at EASILY 100-150k daily concurrent and that doesn't include consoles.

The gameplay is literally Counterstrike at its core, escorting payloads and defending capture points. Even Halo predates OW in that regard. Everything Blizzard has created is derivative to another game or franchise.

The big thing about rivals is that it seems faster paced, and there’s building destructions, AND! There’s characters that get special effects if they have a certain character to pair with and overwatch is missing 2 of these elements which means rivals isn’t a clone.
You know, for facing constant harassment from the tf2 community over the years, it’s ironic that the ow2 community would immediately start doing the same. They even have a 2 to match now.

Umm actually 🤓 according to steam charts marvel rivals had an all time peak of 10k players and around 8k playing an hour ago, overwatch had 24k playing an hour ago and 75k all time peak (maybe like 40k+ if we count battlenet players too) and tf2 had 44k an hour ago and 250k all time peak (Also this is not meant to hate on any game im just bored so i decided to look up the player count)

Not to also forget to mention that leaks popped up that state that valve is developing at the moment on an own 6v6 hero shooter game. I'm so glad to see giants getting involved and giving Blizzard some serious competition and filling that huge demand for a game like ow in the market! Can't wait to see both games joining the ring!
This is an excellent example of gaming companies needing competition. The gaming industry feels less then what it used to and i feel thats cause we have a set of games that do well and no real competition to do better.

@@colinward6737 well if you did basic math then you would realise I posted this comment 4 days ago. The devs also responded 4 days ago. At the time of my comment there was no response.
Also by doing basic math you would realise he made this video before there was an apology, meaning he did believe all the hate was for no reason which was not the case. And hate was the reason the devs went back on their malicious terms.

Multiple games do that in a closed beta. Also, if you did their research, you’re allowed to negatively review the game, just not upload a video or article on it anywhere

The big thing about rivals is that it seems faster paced, and there’s building destructions, AND! There’s characters that get special effects if they have a certain character to pair with and overwatch is missing 2 of these elements which means rivals isn’t a clone.
Sounding like me, when I was being a protective Big Brother to the first two Saints Row games.

You know, for facing constant harassment from the tf2 community over the years, it’s ironic that the ow2 community would immediately start doing the same. They even have a 2 to match now.
i mean tbf, Overwatch did take quite a bit of the playerbase, not that Overwatch deserved the hate( i was initially on the hate train for Overwatch) which i honestly don't think it did nowadays considering the fact it made mechanics that was just as stupid that Valve would make and turn them into fun mechanics sure Overwatch as a whole is extremely similar to TF2, but it just does a few things different and i can appreciate that

Umm actually 🤓 according to steam charts marvel rivals had an all time peak of 10k players and around 8k playing an hour ago, overwatch had 24k playing an hour ago and 75k all time peak (maybe like 40k+ if we count battlenet players too) and tf2 had 44k an hour ago and 250k all time peak
(Also this is not meant to hate on any game im just bored so i decided to look up the player count)

@@llllIlllIllI if im correct only some people got codes for the game when the alpha started. it was like 30K ontop of streamers handing out codes to players. still isnt amazing since the game only has a peak of 10K but timezones could def be a reason

This is an excellent example of gaming companies needing competition. The gaming industry feels less then what it used to and i feel thats cause we have a set of games that do well and no real competition to do better.
