If my dad had been straight and sober then he would have been like Jackson Gibbs. However I had an uncle that was like him in alot of ways. So there are; or have been real men like him. Ralph Waite did a phenomenal job in the role.

I liked Jackson, but I didn't care foe how he seemed to put Gibbs down at times until that last episode Ralph Waite did.
