The Huntington Library and Gardens are such a wonderful continuing gift and inspiration! There's so much for everyone: botany, art, medieval manuscripts, culinary delights, peaceful respite, and marvelous settings for live music, whether a jazz trio or a classical ensemble.
It’s crazy how they persevere the gardens so well some of the photos in the video look the same today in 2020!
Thank you, thank you, thank you Henry and Wife for the huntington Library and all those beautiful gardens. Im glad to be there each time i can. One of the most wonderful places in all the world.
I'm from Oneonta, New York where the Huntington's lived as well and their mansion is now the library here as well.
I loved visiting this beautiful garden and I could see how the people of california enjoy this biological gem. long life for the garden

Great presentation! I grew up in SoCal and visited the library many times in the 70's. Did you know that Henry had his own personal rail spur to his front gate? It was still there the last time I visited in 1978. It has since been removed. I'm looking forward to viewing more of your material!

61 million dollars on art
But it would have been much much more than that by the inflation index . $61 million for art is not a lot with the wealthy ... not today but back then it probably came to over a billion that they spent on all the art and antiques ... and other collectibles .

I visited today for the first time ever…to be honest it made me kind of sad (being Native American) when I walked into their home it felt like it belonged in Europe not here. That’s why I searched for this video-to see the history. There isn’t even a native plant garden on the property *smh* there is a Japanese garden but not a native one. I won’t be returning. It’s sad what these once healthy natives lands have turned into.
