Very glad to see more uploads, easily the best divinity channel on UA-cam. One thing of note: Tentacle Lash sets atrophy, which is a functional hard cc to weapon based enemies. On tactician, if you remove a fighter's weapon or a ranger's bow, and have Opportunist, the AI will just skip their turn, making it significantly more valuable than I think was portrayed in the video. Atrophy is a VERY good status ailment, and if managed properly is a solid addition to the Battle Stomp/Battering Ram cc lineup. Also fuck mages, still. All physical party all the way.
*Physical party all the way* Ohhhhh boy, sounds like you’re gonna have a rough time against some of the bosses, especially against ol dude with the mansion in act 4. Dude had ridiculous physical armor, 2nd only to the final boss 😲 😱 Metamorph has its uses, but all it’s good for is physical buffing, and slight cc really, best skills from it are 1. Skin Graft 2. Forced Exchange 3. Invisibility, and *especially* Apotheosis 😈 (best skill in the game, especially if you run lone wolf builds 😈)
@@90snetworkproductions79 Having played a full physical party through the game I think 3 times on Tactician, I can safely say I never found him to be an issue. The hard bosses were: Aeteran, and that was pretty much it. Full physical parties are significantly more powerful than hybrid teams or full magic, and there are more than enough tools in their kit to handle anything that comes at them. Also bouncing shield might just be the best goddamn spell in the game.
Thank you! Hate the mage-physical combination, because as a physical you get either stunned, frozen or burned (or a combination of the 3) every fight. Also it is just ineffective to fight both physical and magical armor.
@@TheNosScarFace The math on it is pretty simple. Hybrid parties reduce the damage you deal and increase the amount of health your enemies have. Full-magic parties don't have enough good spells, and int is the worst stat of Int/Fin/Str, playing magic is pointless in divinity, if you're min-maxing. It's fine if you're not.
@@90snetworkproductions79 Yeah, while you can basically solo run anything in honour mode, I believe lone wolf necromancer does the most damage (if I'm remembering correctly, I critted ~100k in the original and ~30k in definitive with just grasp of the starved). I've never seen numbers like that with mage builds. But I disagree with Xander saying that Int is the worst stat, at least with the necromancer build.
I started watching his videos yesterday, and he immediately uploads again today. Just want to let you guys know that he’s obviously back because of me, you’re welcome.
I initially overlooked the polymorph tree, since I learned you *couldn't* transform into monsters. But then today I learned you can swoop in, pummel enemies into a chicken, slap a guy far away with a tentacle, gain all your AP back with two adrenalines, almost die but then decide that an enemy's health bar is now yours, and then fly away to safety while your party members wonder what the hell just happened. All on the same turn your normal fighter walked ten paces and smacked a guy, and your mage needed to heal him instead of casting cool spells because he's always almost dead.
4:45 flashbacks to me standing on a wooden structure being attacked by wave after wave of oil slimes and then 1 small fire ability setting 2 screens on fire and killing my fps. Man do I love this game.
@@Frigid1997 The guy I was protecting survived right up until the end when he suddenly decided to kill himself. At that point I was so tired I just let him stay dead and continued on with the story.
I think you're wrong about Tentacle Lash. This skill is a must have for any sort of class based on strength. The damages is based on your level, and honestly it is really good. You don't need to invest more into polymorph - this skill will get only stronger with your level. It has really good range, it puts atrophy status on your enemy and in the late game it has the same damage as your weapon if not more (personally for me I always notice that my Tentacle Lash deals more damage than my weapon, even though I'm sure as hell I'm not missing good stuff). Anyways, great video. I'm happy that you're back.
The first run through of the story of Divinity Original Sin 2 I really played was a metamorph warfare elf. One of the unique axes I got pretty much boosted my strength I think to 30 or 40, either way it was close to the max, if not the max. I was absolutely demolishing encounters. Apotheosis was and still is busted. My strongest attack, by far, was tentacle lash, so wtf are you talking about. Of course, I never played any super hard difficulties, but it was casually dealing I believe 100+ damage. Atrophy wasn't much of a thing I noticed, because I was securing kills or breaking armor down with lash. Other than that, warfare and max strength was carrying, plus picture of health getting up to at one point 6k armor 10k hp I think, though I forget my magic armor. (I did beat Lucian's hp, which was insane. I guess 10 in both warfare and polymorph, plus whatever my con was, ~20, and picture of health really is busted.) I was wearing a few other unique types too, so that might help trying to figure out my build. Anyways, I rate lash a little more than you do, because damn was the damage scaling a little bonkers. Bull horns had it's moment as a decent mobility tool, because it didn't matter when I could just stab myself for another AP. I never did manage the chicken kills tho. Demons still kicked my ass.
-_-' Don't you hate it when you watch a video and you find and amazing channel and then you must watch all the videos? I bet this was EXACTLY what you wanted... I hope you are happy
i played a metamorph fane my first time around and it kinda worked. just flew and bullrushed around the battlefield like crazy and whacked ppl with a twohanded weapon and my insanely high strenght, permanently triggering opportunity attacks since wings make u even stickier than glue. just dumped every remaining point into warfare and ur fine, atleast on classic that is XD
I cannot imagine a world where tentacle lash could be considered bad. High physical damage that scales off level and strength, considerably more range than most melee skills, and it sets atrophy which basically just cripples anything that isn't a mage combined with it's low skill requirement, and I cannot even fathom why any physical STR based build would ever not want to take Tentacle lash unless they are just intentionally holding themselves back to make the game harder
I like anyone who plays dos2 and this guy is entertaining but he doesnt know the opness of polymorph. equalise, chicken claw and tentacle lash is broken af as well. eqaulise ignores armor and magic armor and chicken claw works on every boss including the final boss lol
You are naive for thinking tentacle lash is a bad spell. With any warrior/knight build it's a turn of atrophy that does a solid chunk of damage at good range. It's one of few atrophy spells available and is excellent at getting rogues with low armor to piss off.
polymorph works really well combod with warfare, also tentacle lash HITS HARD, since it all stacks with strength it becomes on of the most powerful hitter you can use later on, especially since it sets atrophy
I completely resigned myself to being on fire, to the point where my strategy was having two melee and then casters, then cast fireball twice on my melee people killing whoever they are engaged with. All I had to do was handle fire better than my enemy
OMG, YOU'RE NOT DEAD! I found your channel after you stopped uploading and i was so disappointed thet your honour mode game was going to always be incomplete. please finish it, it's sooo funny
The reasons oily blob is great: - synergy with medusa head since it does magic damage - oil everywhere so you CC a group of enemies - summon = more actions, attacks etc for the cost of 2ap, giving you 4ap per round for the blob

The wings are actually really good for mobility as it lets you quickly move 13 meters for a single AP using another AP to activate
Yeah, after all the other mobility (teleport) skills only have 2m range and cost 4 AP...
