BMW M47 E83 X3 2 0d Crankshaft Pulley replacement

- After 50k miles the rubber centre of the crankshaft pulley on this M47 2.0d E83 BMW X3 was failing. In this video I replace it.
The process should be the same or similar for other M47 engines. This one has a stretch belt for the air conditioning compressor. Some have a tensioner pulley with a longer belt.
As with all my videos this is not instruction or tuition, and I accept no liability or responsibility for anything you do if you try to copy me. The liability for the work you do is your own.
Thx bro you made my day
Good job mate 👍
Спасибо, полезное видео!
@@Jagorka60 Спасибо за просмотр. Я рад, что это вам помогло.
Hi,
I need to do it too...thank you for you video.
Where did you get the tool from to lock the engine? We attempted to take it off last night but our tool kept slipping off the teeth around the centre bolt
Hi Smurfy. I looked it up on my emails and the link is here www.ebay.co.uk/itm/264384452410?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=iUY5SyoiSG-&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=BA82KO7eRni&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
Give it a go
I am doing the same manipulation for the third time because the new parts cannot cover a distance of 500 km. The first time I installed SNR, the second continental, now I will install Corteco. I don't know, belts and pulleys have been changed on the car, everything is new and this damper pulley can't go much
That sound unusual Stefan. I hope it works with the Corteco. Make sure all pulleys are clean and running straight.
Still work okay? Did you torque it, plus torque it with degrees and so on?🙂
Hi Christian, thanks for watching. Still all good thanks. I don’t recall as it was a while ago, but if I did torque etc. I will probably say in the video. It was chuffing tight though, so likely beyond my torque wrench range.
Multumesc !!!!!
Hi i have the same ISSUE, as the BELT keeps SLIpPing off.. i can see that there's another BELT needs to be put on, but, MECHANIC SAYS IT doesn't need IT. Isit A MUST to put on the LAST BELT, @airCON .. ?
" An what I RECKON," is that YES..,! cos the PULLEY will have TENSION from BOTH SIDES and WONT SLIPP no - more .. @Whats your thoughts onIt..! can you get back to me soon Bcos, it LOOKs like we ALL have different IDEAS on what's RIGHT, an what is NEEDed to FIX the PROBLEM. "@eager on your FEEDback".
Hi Skeez Pou. I have read that both should be on, to balance the load on the crankshaft pulley. That said, I ran mine without the aircon belt for about 5000 miles with no sign of bad impact before replacing the pulley.
Hi Steve,
Did you remove the radiator fan?
Yes indeed. It’s simple to take out, and gets in the way.
@@SteveWardellDIY I have this task to do in the next week or so. I’ll be referencing this video, brilliant content 👍🏻
100nm torque then 150 degrees
Thanks @marcopolo
