Let me know if you have any questions on recovery or any other general questions to do with the hysterectomy. Anything that I haven't covered, I'd be happy to do a video on any topics I haven't covered. Do comment, like and share ahead if you find my videos useful.
I have endometriosis n my obgyn is say I should think about doing hysterectomy. But im hesitant because of the unknown, such as side effects, pre menopause, harmone issues or lack of...idk
@@neishas4620 Well, depends on your age and how much you're suffering. Doctors usually only recommend this path when they know that there's no other alternative. I had mine done in my late 40s and it's been fine for me since.
Yours is the first vlog I’ve come across that is exactly the same surgery I had with the same conditions! Full abdominal hysterectomy saved the ovaries and cervix. I’m currently at 2.5 weeks recovery time. Thank you for putting this out there. ❤
Most welcome. Wishing you a speedy recovery. Remember to take it easy.
Thank you for sharing your recovery. Im 41 and ill be having the same surgery as you. Im very scared but i know this has to be done.
How long did it take for your to het back to normal?
@@vilmasclosett It took me about 3 months to feel near normal. But in 5 months I felt full of energy and was able to go back to an active lifestyle.
Have you checked out my other recovery videos?
Hi. Thanks for the video. Can u pls explain, if you had cough, of yes ,how long and how did you cope with it.
@@subhasundar9881 Sorry just saw your question. Hope you're fully recovered by now. I don't recall having a cough. Sometimes after an operation you do have a cough but it doesn't last long.
@@shoneesworld yeah. Thats ok. Thanks for the reply.
I appreciate your candidness and your detailed recovery. 🥰💕
Thank you. I recorded it and hoped that it would be useful to someone. So, I truly appreciate your feedback. Wishing you the best.
Thanks for sharing. I am in my two week post op
Wishing you a speedy recovery. Remember not to over exert and you'll probably start feeling close to normal in 3-4 months.
Thank you! This helped me so much!!
How much did your uterus weigh. I know the typical weigh is 80 and mine was 364. I wish the doctor would have left my cervix.
Sorry, I can't recall that now. Wishing you the best in your recovery process.
Thank you. So far so good.
Hello. I get light pricky pricky feeling in my stomach whenever the stomach is bloated because of intake of food. Is it normal?
Hi
Not sure what you mean because I haven’t experienced that. However, I do think we become more aware about our bodies after the operation. Unless you are experiencing real discomfort I wouldn’t be too concerned. If it is causing you issues then you should check with your doctor. All the best.
@@shoneesworld thank you for your response
Was it laproscopy or open surgery , as mine will be taking place next week
Hi Mayuri, I had an open surgery. Wishing you the best for yours. What are you having?
My cut is vertical and it opened but its taking time to heal at the lower abdomen its not closing fast, i am 3 weeks now
Best to seek advice from your doctor . All the best with your healing journey.
Very helpful 2 me
Thank you for letting me know. Hope you've recovered well if you've had the operation and best of luck if you haven't as yet.
Mam after one month of my surgery spotting is going on is it normal. Dr. Says that everything is normal then why my spotting is not stops
It's best to consult the doctor again if you're not sure or another doctor.
However, NHS UK website advice says the following -
After a hysterectomy, you'll experience some vaginal bleeding and discharge. This will be less discharge than during a period, but it may last up to 6 weeks. Visit your GP if you experience heavy vaginal bleeding, start passing blood clots or have a strong-smelling discharge.
Just curious what made them decided to leave your cervix?
Hi Jade,
I think he said that the cervix was healthy and there was no reason to have it removed. I also found this on google. Leaving the cervix in place reduces the amount of time the patient is in surgery. While it used to be thought that a supracervical hysterectomy could reduce the likelihood of sexual dysfunction, recent studies have shown that there is no difference in this between total and supracervical hysterectomies.
Hope this helps. And hope you're keeping well.
@@shoneesworld have you had any bleeding with leaving the cervix? And do you have any pain during sex?
How many days shoud take rest after this
Hi Pooja, I'm sure you're doctor will advise you on this. I took a 6 weeks to recover fully. But it's been a while now since I had the operation. Best to watch my vlogs which follows my journey to recovery. All the best.
Did you suffer from urine incontinency/Leak? If yes for how many days? I am 3 weeks post op and still suffering
I suggest you speak to your doctor if you want to help with urine incontinence
@@shoneesworld yes i have an appointment next week. But just wanted to know if anyone faced this problem and for how long or is it just me.
That's good. Urinary incontinence is common in women and usually you'll be given some sphincter muscle exercises to do I think. All the best with your recovery. @@shwetaj7359
@@shoneesworld thank you so much.
