Great demo on how this works. Mostly I see people like me asking, “how do you go about adding WHD games”, the responses are normally vague as hell, they may as well say “it’s easy you just do it”. So thanks for this guide.
I hope to see a great guide like this for how to apply WHDload games to the new Amiga mini. The only reason I haven’t pre-ordered the mini, is that I fear/imagine the process will be convoluted and surrounded by tech mystery with no guides for novice users. I imagine most people like myself are holding off purchasing a mini Amiga until there’s a guide on how to add games to it. Let’s face it, no one is going to buy that Amiga Mini for the 25 games pre-installed… once there’s a good guide the sales of that machine should rocket.
When I download these games they're not in .lha format like when you downloaded it so I cannot use them with my Amiga 500 Mini where .lha is a requirement to run the game 😕
Once you create your game and left with a folder, that folder then needs to be archived into a lha file. The command for this is: LHA A gamename.lha DH1:TEMP
@@MikeyGRetro WHDownload does not have all games, for instance, public domain games such as Gravity Force 2 (Gravity Power) are missing so this is a helpful guide and what I have been looking for!
There is a file in whdloader wich you can adjust to quite the game. For example use F10 could be handy. Maybe in a update of your creations. Since you also did a lot in Windows. Maybe a way tot creatie a windowsPe system on a usb stick witch you can run the winuae on . There is a script for it to build a PE. I Also run in winuae screen and pixel imperfection .Can't be done just on the screen tab. You need to use the filter settings of winuae to adjust. Keeping up the good work.
Thanks Bart. I have done a previous video WinUAE Part 3 - WHDLoad covering the WHDLoad.pref file and F10 key. Windows PE is an interesting choice. I do have experience with it from an MDT deployment side of things for work but I think it would be a limited environment. I like you previous suggestion of Puppy linux and will be exploring that as its more fun making a linux solution than a windows one IMO. ;-)
@@MikeyGRetrothe debian buster does run fsuae well it has jwm lightweight . if you loose al ot of programs it would be perfect for a MikeyAmiga pup. Although they say that winuae is a better choise for fast emulations with fancy worbench. if there is a pimiga why not a pupmiga :-)
@@MikeyGRetro try this one 64 version . it has puls audio (5.1 audio) and i tried the latest linux version of fs- uae. The Arcade shell i could not make run..(prob a small problem) but all the rest works smooth. You could strip this version down with left over a filemanager and palemoon browser and maybe some tools. if you run from a stick . What you also can put more partitions on a stick it . What makes it also posible if you want a real amiga partition, instead of a virtual emulated version. sourceforge.net/projects/dpup/files/dpupbuster64-8.0.0-uefi-RC-3-09082020.iso
Thanks for this video I have been wondering how to do this.. lol Now I just need to understand how to convert DMS images into ADF's. The Spaceball's demo I have of 9 fingers is corrupted. :(
Thankyou for this! Slowly but surely the mists of confusion regarding WHDload start to lift....
Glad it is helping :-)

lha unknown command
you'll need to install lha then. I cover it in the first 3 parts of my WinUAE guide
