Hey Scott! So i just upgraded OBS Studio to 27.2 and while I can toggle the main on (it's blue) my created lower thirds won't start (red). Have you or anyone else seen this with the update? Thanks in advance.
@@ScottFichter Yes beware because the Virtual Camera filter did not work with the update either. I reverted back to the previous version and the VC works now but I still can't get lower thirds to work again. Hopefully they get the bugs fixed. Good luck!

If you put a space in the field it counts as a character 👍🏾. I do that for the info field for our church Livestream when I just want a name and no info or title.

1:50 The second field is not the transition time for it moving out of view, rather it is the duration that the third will be visible. The transition time for it coming into view and going out of view are both controlled by the value in field one. They cannot be controlled separately.
For some reason this use to work perfectly, but when I've opened up OBS again after a couple of months away from streaming, the tickertape no longer shows. I've done all of the options in the video and still it's no show. Does it only appear during streaming now? EDIT: I've just found your updated video and it works. Thank you.
Possible Fix: Do all the steps, but instead of clicking "local File" and searching the file, open the browser-source on the browser and copy the path, just like you did with the control panel, and paste the url on OBS browser source url, without checking the "local File" box. You should see a "file:///C:/" instead of just "C:/" at the beggining of the URL path you copied. that fixed the red box problem for me.

Scott can you do a video about the preview area and how to manage all the highlightable rectangles? It's not intuitive for me how to get them setup how they should be. How do I figure out what to do with the various rectangles and how do they behave?

argh, I am getting the dreaded red ringed window. Main window is toggled on. I got the 4 smaller windows hot keyed. whether I toggle them on or hot key them on I only get the red window of death, never have they turned blue. They had been working up until this latest OBS Studio version 27.2.1 [downloaded 02/21/2022] Now Lower 3rd doesn't work. I went as far and uninstalling OBS Studio.... but no luck. any suggestions? In the little "preview" window on the bottom, i can see it.
Scott, you do a wonderful job in teaching about your subjects, you must be a teacher or Professor. The real reason I am asking for help is that I have tried all of the ways to get the red border on the lower thirds in OBS to turn blue. I have set all timings to 1 sec and still no go. The master at the top is blue when turned on. I have even in the system tab within the master performed a reset and started over and that did not clear it up. The only thing that I did not do was unload the plugin and reinstall it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks for putting in all the time to explain to us about life problems. It has been working for about 2 months now. All I have done was to add two logos for the church.

Found the fix in one of your other videos! It was the file syntax change with version 27.2. Updated the browser-source.html path and it works like a charm now!!
Could you better explain the 10 memory slot boxes on the bottom of each numbered lower third? I tried to use this and after having to fight those boxes and having my entries get erased because I added somethin in wrong was too frustrating. I ripped it out.
The fact that I have *40* possible texts is amazing. Your other video explaining how to use the 10 slots for each [1,2,3,4] was great. Such a confusing and yet powerful plug-in. I have 20 of them with "current event" satire; 10 for self-promotion; and the last 10 for content specific purposes. I was looking to Fiverr to get the same kind of functionality and then I found this plug-in from your first video on it. Sooooooooo good.

hello sir...you're tutorials are really helpful...but aside from this topic i would pretty much appreciate it if you could help me with a little bit of a problem i've been meeting very often...and it's about droid cam obs...i've been using it as a secondary camera using my smart phone...the problem i have is that it sometimes just turns off on it's own and turns back on agian whenever it feels like it and it's very frustrating most specially when i did a livestream...i really don't know what causes this issue and i don't know how to prevent it from happening...do you, by any means, have a solution for this? thank you so much
Wow I struggled to get this to work for an entire evening, only to find out that my issue was that I never had both fields with texting them. Yours is the only video I found that actually suggested that. Thank you for that!
Scott! Love your stuff!!! I use this tool but have recently been experiencing the dock to resize to a smaller narrow view every i restart OBS. This cuts off all the title info. Let me know your thoughts and thank you for being awesome!
HI Juan, all the lower thirds have no time override set. This means the time that is designated for slide in slide out and time hidden were all defined by that top "Main Settings" pulldown. The time I set there was 1, 1, 999. One sec in one sec out and 999 seconds hidden. When I turn on the "Main Settings" slider switch they all come in at the same time.
FIX: Things were still not working even after watching, pausing and rewatching your excellent detailed explanation step-by-step. Then, I saw this while browsing wildly: I don't know why it works, but instead of treating the browser-source as a local file, I unchecked the Local box and entered this: file:\\\C:\Program Files\obs-studio\Animated Thirds\lower thirds\browser-source.html. Now, it works.
