A good comparison of three very stylish and capable field watches. My favourite is the SWC Ark, though I don't like the look of the brand logo with the company name printed directly under it. I think it would look better with just the logo or just the name, but not both printed on the dial.
I think the Vaer is more attractive--something I'd feel more comfortable wearing to the office, and its a great watch. The Arc is very light and the lime is amazing.
For me - being British, the CWC is my preferred choice, but can't deny the Vaer is really nice and the SWC is brilliant value. All would be a great pick for a field watch nut.
Hey Kevin. I'd go for the CWC in a heartbeat, preferably the auto (or mechanical, can't remember), but the quartz is cool too. Love acrylic on older style watches and you cannot really beat the history behind the brand. Shame they are expensive. The SWC lineups are really really good value. I really wanted to find a way to like their Bunker, ridiculous specs for the price. However I didn't really like the size and the slightly more modern touch to the design. Also their logo on that watch makes the dial too busy for a field watch imho. The Vaer i don't like. Sure it's nice that they are encouraging the use of US movements, but this just feels like a(n) (unnecessarily) bigger version of the Hamilton Khaki field. If I wanted an american brand quartz field watch, I'd probably look at the solar Timex Expedition North. P.S.: Like how you sneak a quick peek of the Sub in most of your recent vids :). Curious what excuses you'll come up with next. Seems like the list of usual suspects is getting short lol. I am joking. I'd show it off too :). Glad you love it and it doesn't seem to leave your wrist much.
I totally agree with all your points. I did just receive my timex expedition today from Amazon. I need to find some time to get it open and on video. I have not been wearing the submariner as much as I would like now, as I feel like I need to wear the watches that present on video for longer time periods.
@@WrongTimeWatch I've considered it but already have two automatics that are kind of a chore to keep wound. I'll still probably get the Ark since I really like the titanium case over the Vaer. That is a pretty big selling point for me, especially in the
@@TearsInReign the 38mm case size works well for my 6.5" wrist. I still have the watch, however I don't wear it that much. I don't know of another quartz titanium watch in the 40 mm size to recommend at the moment.
i bought the Vaer and I was disappointed by 2 things - 1 the Lume isn't good. 2 the second hand don't hit the indices. Sorry, it's the ARC all the way.
#1 SWC. #2. Vaer. #3 CWC I can’t understand the CWC appeal I could get acrylic field watch from Timex or a fixed bar and sapphire from Bertucci and save money. I bought the SWC as a gift to give and it is pretty impressive. My personal field watch is a Citizen promaster land 200 m and super titanium.
The CWC is a very comfortable watch to wear on wrist. I would say that 1/2 the price is due to its connection to and use in the British Military. I am sure that a lot of folks buy it due to that alone. Your Citizen sounds like a nice watch.
@@WrongTimeWatch Thanks it is a Citizen Promaster Land PMD56-2951 only problem is it only syncs with the Japanese tower or a phone app. Still it is a keeper. Keep up the killer comparison videos, I love those.

I agree with you. Also the logo and text font kind of reminds me of old Disney movies for some reason.
Nice. It's hard to find companies making value for money quartz watches, and even harder to find people reviewing them.
I typically enjoy mechanical watches more then Quartz, but there will always be room for a quartz watch in my collection. Nice to grab and go.
Interesting options. CWC size is pretty good and Vaer style looks better, but i believe that SWC offers a better package.
I agree with you. Also I like the Military history of the CWC.

Yes, the lume on the Arc is crazy good. Among the best I have seen. Still prefer the looks of the Vaer though.
Nice comparison - the SWC is my favorite of the three.
I was very very tempted to buy one for my personal collection. Just $200 for all that is has to offer.

If I was British I would have totally kept the CWC. I really enjoy the military history of this watch.
At this price range and type of watches, cool and symbolic factors I think are more important. The G10 stands for both of them.
I really do appreciate the military history of the G10. It would be nice if the price was a little lower on it though.

@@WrongTimeWatch Heh, job hazards i guess:)
Good comparison, but Vaer has a bunch of other faces and models and some 36 mm watches, dive watches, etc
Thank you, and that is a good point about Vaer. They really do offer a lot of different variations of their watches.
I wish the SWC was also a 40mm like the Vaer. 38mm looks kind of small on my 7.25" wrist
You could try the SWC Bunker, it is 41mm. swcusa.com/collections/bunker/products/bunker-black

Why do VAER quartz watches all have really poor second hand tracking? I'd have bought one in a heartbeat by now. :(
I think you would need to buy a more expensive watch with a better movement for that.
i bought the Vaer and I was disappointed by 2 things - 1 the Lume isn't good. 2 the second hand don't hit the indices. Sorry, it's the ARC all the way.
The SWC ARK is a good value, and the lume is insane.
Great comparison all look great
Thank you very much
It's ironic that between these 3, the value you get goes up when the price goes down
That is a good point. Depends on if you want the military history, the specs, or the good looks.
Wish i bought the Swc instead of Vaer 😔
The SWC ARK is a good value, and the lume is amazing. Very comfortable on wrist as well.

I agree entirely
Non lumed seconds hand ruins the g10. What a fail
That is a good point, the second hand should have lume.
