Heard this song for first time in 1983. The Lord me but sadly worldliness allowed me to take my eyes off Jesus. Cost me dearly but thank the Lord he never let me go. Whole family of 17 now know the Lord as He was faithful, forgave my sins, and blessed us. Jesus is Lord
This October marks 9 years sober for me. I take NO credit whatsoever for this accomplishment. The Lord touched me and removed the alcohol addiction from me , and I can not thank the Lord enough for turning me around and saving me from the depths of hell eternally and hell on earth. I am so much happier and feel spiritual in life. This song brings me to tears almost every time, I can remember the dark days of hopeless and feeling empty inside and now the Lord has given me peace and happiness. Thank ya Jesus so much!!
I remember meeting John Starnes 20 years ago in the year 2000 when he came to sing at a Charles Stanley in touch rally in Worcester Ma. I bought 3 cassette tapes from John Starnes and he gave me his testimony of how he came to faith and his autograph. We talked for about 5 minutes. I also met Charles Stanley that evening and bought a book from him that he autographed. It's always my favorite part of watching an old Jimmy Swaggart crusade to hear John Starnes sing
The time this song came out i was a baby but my dad use to always listen loudly to this song together with jimmy swaggart, so my dad would turn on our radio thing grabbed his guitar sang and played along..... Today im a drummer my dad is the worship pastor, today we performed this song together.... Brought back memories....... Lol 70% of kids dont know about this song /songs like these where Jesus was still the centre of it all and were mentioned.... Today no one evens tries to mention the name of Jesus, im 24 years of age now but when i hear these song i sing along cause they bring me joy and memories..... God will foreva be on the throne no matter what we go through..... We all were in darkness but Jesus found us
