This is my 2nd Keurig coffee maker of this model. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxBrV-RbF5Nk0Rlt9i15aao-YMzqzTG8Vf The first worked fine for more than 2 years, and I could still get a decent cup of coffee out of it if I fiddled with it when I decided to replace it. The problem I had with my first unit was this: When attempting to brew a cup of coffee, the unit would either keep brewing until the coffee was undrinkable or it would not run long enough and the coffee produced was way too strong. I cleaned the unit as best I could but it did not help. So in the end it was just too much trouble to get a good cup of coffee out of it, so I decided to replace it with a new one, which has been working great since I unpacked it.
Great review. I also recently got this machine and love it. I drink mostly latte and for me. And i use a mug which i bring to work. I think this machine can do about 14 cm if i remember correctly. So i bought a 500ml thermos which was low enough. But to fill it, the Latte program dispences too little. So this is my secret recipe 😅 2x 55ml espresso shots. Then you go to froth and select 320ml (the max setting) Perfect latte. As for syrup i have some, but uses mostly 3 sweetner tablets in this recipe. Delicious
Thanks for saying that. This was only my second video ever so I still didn’t really know what I was doing or even how to edit well, but I’m glad you found it helpful.
I've been thinking about getting one as well and your video helped me decide because like you I drink a lot of Latte and I could settle for a machine that only does 4 drinks including cappuccino but that is just not the same.
I purchased 3200 which is great don't need to know how many I brew or extra coffee options.rinsing out milk container takes seconds or you can put in dishwasher. This milk hopper works like a charm love it. I don't feel that it's worth the extra money.
When I go to a Coffee Shop (non-Star$$$) I always just order a Latte. Finally a machine with that option. Sold me. Wonder if you can make a Breve with it ?
I’m so glad you decided to pick one up. I think you’ll enjoy it. The latte setting sold me too. I’ve never tried to make a Breve, but might have to try.
When you make a coffee that can be purchased at a coffee shop, you need to add to the video a comparison of the cost of the coffee when using the coffee maker and when buying it at the shop.
I do not understand why only the lower i think 3200, 3300? Someone will correct me no doubt but anyway only that machine from the series makes cold as well as hot, and not the later like this here
How does you like the 5400 making just coffee? Most people say that these machines make decent espresso, but the coffee is garbage since the machine can only handle so many grams of coffee powder at a time, and it is usually not enough. I’m looking at this machine, but while one person in the house likes espresso, the other only drinks black coffee, and I need one that does both well. Thanks.
We don’t drink a lot of plain coffee, but with the few we’ve made, I’ve found it decent. It’s not quite as good as our Nespresso, but good enough to go down to one machine. It does depend on the beans. We usually use Lavazza Super Crema and it’s a good coffee and espresso drink bean. Good luck!
Amazing review and coffee machine. I want it so bad, but it’s a lil bit pricey. I wondering if there is any promo code for the purchase of this machine. I know that only William’s Sonoma sells this machine, but didn’t see any promo code on their website 🙁
I bought the 4300 series yesterday and used it today for the first time. I got really disappointed seeing that water came out first when I pressed the button for espresso. Is that something normal? The coffee turned out very watery, not as thick as it should be.
Haven’t used the 4300, but can tell you that with the 5400, it takes multiple runs of Espresso to get it to a consistent result that you are looking for. It’s like this with all the superautomatics.

@@uramalakia Yes, I have the 5400 model and every time you open the machine and turn it off, it dispenses some hot water for cleaning. Also please be patient with the first 10-12 coffees will go to waste. The pucks will be watery. After 12 drinks, you can get really good quality espresso, americano, coffee, etc. I suggest you to watch UA-cam videos or read the manual for 4300. My wife and I love our 5400. It was one of the best purchases we made in the last couple of years.
Preground coffee that you would buy from any store such as Folgers , Maxwell House , Dunkin Donuts....you add your favorite preground coffee in there and it bypasses the bean hopper and is directly dumped into the brew chamber where the coffee is made.
Super easy. Just remove the inner piece and rinse it off weekly. Grease the inner piece about every three months. Run a tablet through it once a month. Descale every sixish months. This sounds like a lot, but I spend maybe five minutes a week cleaning it.
@@lifeshodgepodge3963 You can simply froth milk alone, by "tricking" the machine into believing you're using ground coffee (but you don't actually add any). This eliminates the grinder coming into play, and any of the Philips LatteGo machines will happily froth milk for you this way. ... EDIT TO ADD: Looking at my own 5400 menu, in the "More Drinks" tab, there is a selection for "Milk Froth". I haven't tried it yet, but I'm betting that will eliminate the need for my suggested hack, at least on the 5400. Cheers!
Hello, great video. Can you store the milk "latte go" directly inside the fridge? Or do you have to return the milk to the carton first and wash the container?
You can store it in the container. We do it all the time. It will leave a line around the container where the top of the milk is, but that washes right off.
Hello, How hot does the milk get? I like my lattes hot and I find that these automatic machines don't get the milk hot enough. Also, I don't like too much foam, do you get a big layer of foam on top? Thank you for the review!
The milk doesn’t get super hot, but the coffee is so the drinks are hot enough in my opinion. You do get a decent amount of foam, but it’s no different than say a latte from your local barista.
I’ve had this machine and got rid of it because I didn’t think the milk or espresso shot was hot, even with adjusting the settings and calling Philips for troubleshooting. You can adjust how much or less foam you want.
@@zuest696 I ended up going a completely different direction in the world of coffee. I quickly learned from this machine I wanted a more hands on approach.

I honestly hadn’t looked at pricing since we bought ours last January (2022). We got it at Williams Sonoma for $899. I had no idea they were up to $1100 now. That’s an amazing price increase. I’ll be honest with you. I don’t think my wife would have bought it at $1100 before we used it because it would have been above that $1000 which was probably her price ceiling, but after having it for a year, she would have bought it for $1100 in an instant. It’s been an excellent machine. I haven’t weighed it against the other units above $1k, but I’m going to assume the other units have also gone up so I’m pretty confident this is going to be competitive in that price range as well. It’s an amazing machine and super easy to maintain which is what we wanted and honestly isn’t that common with super automatic machines.
I might if I can get to it. I can tell you that it will be pretty uneventful as you simply push the button and it does the rest then you enjoy and it makes a great cappuccino. I’d highly encourage you to try it.

We ordered it on November 22, 2022 from Williams & Sonoma and we received it on December 5th. At first it said the shipping was postponed till January but the next day it said it is arriving on December 6th. We have received it one day earlier. I think it is the best automatic espresso machine under $1500. I have been using it for a month with my wife. The cleaning and maintenance is super easy. I like all milk and non-milk based options it does have. It has 2+3 years warranty from Phillips USA (3 years come if you register your device with Phillips within 90 days of your purchase). I heard that Jura does not have a way to clean the internal unit (a.k.a brew unit) which seems like an important thing for cleaning and maintaining even though I saw one owner say Jura did not need any maintenance for the 8 years he had owned the machine.
Nice video and explanation, good job. But..... The milk wasn't good at all. Look at your video, there are millions of air bubbles in your mug. That wasn't really a latte.
