My brother used to live in Seattle and he’d walk around Lake Washington. He enjoyed it so much. I visited him a few times. I was in BC only once and I fell in love with it. Love your videos and I admire how you deal with life. You make the best of things. You have a sense of humor and you always find things to keep you busy. 😊 🇨🇦
@ you’re very welcome. I’m sorry about your bruise. I have neuropathy and I fell several times, so I understand you. I actually fell face down and I damaged my glasses and severe bruising on my hands and face. Keep on doing what you’re doing. It’s admirable ☺️☺️
Another great walk is this walk of Brunette Creek (New West) to Burnaby. You can park at Hume Park in New West and follow the Creek trail all the way to the Burnaby Lake trail. It is just beautiful.
So sorry you fell and hurt yourself. 🤕 I fell like that on ice a few winters ago and broke my wrist badly. So they say putting your hands out like that can be bad too, supposed to try and roll or something 🤣. Take care, congratulations on all the new viewers!
A gaggle of geese! Do any of the Vancouver Geese stay all winter? We have quite a few that stay year round in SK. They seem to have adapted to minus bzillion & windchill. Lots do fly south for the winter, just like some Canadians. Love to see hear & see them in the autumn in their V-formation. We also have Snow Geese migrating in the fall. One needs to get out of the city to see Snow Geese on the harvested fields or in sloughs/dugouts. 😃
Hello from Ladner bc .. I’m impressed how fit You are for your age .. I just turned 56 and can no longer ride a bike because of my hips and not very good balance anymore … so sorry you fell and hurt yourself, lucky no bones were broken .. Take care 😊
@susanrachel5583 There are "balance" & "strengthening" exercises one can find on YT. My husband & I, both older than you, are doing balance & other exercises to try to keep our muscles, ligaments, etc in balance & flexible. After being physically active all our lives it comes as a shock that the muscles don't just take care of themselves. It takes effort & time. Usually 2x/day. Wishing you well.
Soooo true!! Health insurance at our age does limit where you can go🤕.....but being active wherever we live is the key! I haven't biked in quite awhile due to the lack of a safe area to do so. Now they finally opened up a cross city walk/biking path...YEAH!! Now...to buy a bike...LOL
I hope you are alright. You might need to go to a local emergency care center, I was worried about that with all the walking you're doing. Let us know soon how your doing. I'm a new subscriber, I am also a senior caregiver.
@@CarlofulVanlife I'm Glad! But you still need a nurse to look at that. With all the walking you do in the cold weather, You might want to stay in more, Older people tend to get sick easier. But I know I am not saying anything you haven't heard before. It's just the caregiver coming out in me. Worried for ya!
@@nanlyn52 There is no better medicine for the heart, mind & physical being than exercise & fresh air, including to keep colds & flu, etc away.. No matter the age. "Cold" is relative to where one lives. Try -20 to -40 C. Elders live here too & get outside daily. As a retired RN, of 40 years, (I've worked in the high Arctic & am also a cyclist & multi-day backcountry hiker who has had a few abrasions), I know people are capable of taking care of their own abrasions. What they need help with is getting their arses off the couch to get exercise.

good morning, how come you don't head South for the winter?
once you pass 70 yrs, the extra medical insurance coverage to go south to the US is quite expensive. Very risky not to get it these days.
Also the US exchange rate is crazy now for Canadians
Look after yourself mate.
