I remember Murali saying that more than Tendulkar, he found Azhar and Lara as the best players of spin bowling ever. He used to destroy them. Weak against quality pace though, worse than Ganguly against short ball on bouncy tracks. So many times out fending
But you must admit he was the undisputed champion of one thing... Fixing! Sold his nation & soul...
Siddhu was the best player of spin till date. No doubt azhar, sachin, ganguly, vvs were also good. But siddhu used to treat spinner altogether another level.

I have seen him play imran and wasim at their very best like 110 in jaipur 1987 141 calcutta 1987 109 faislabad 1989 . In odis imran took 6 for 14 in 1985 sharjah where azhar topscored with 47 ( got out through a spinner) . 93 not out in 1985 with imran on fire . He was superb playing genuine swing too .....103 wellington ....192 auckland ...106 adelaide ...179 old trafford.. 115 cape town among others. Yes he was a master of spin as martin crowe and murlitharan claimed ...152 in ahmedabad and 108 in colombo on dustbowls was masterly. But his greatest strength which most great players of fast bowling lack - ability to murder medium pace to a level of utter submission .
