14:47 once again, most realistic reaction :)
Good video, one of the few guys I don't have to watch at 1.25x speed
Thanks a lot! 🔥💯😎
Lol same
I thought I was the only one lol
@@JamesCantyIII I didn't even see ur name and thought what the and realised ur thag guy who made this, nice vid tho
We need more James! Great and instructive breakdown
Thanks buddy! 💯🔥😎
2017 the year of the swindle
Oh come on, the most dramatic swindle is missing from the video.
It is from 2017 SCC Magnus Carlsen vs Wesley So. Magnus had a completely lost position before Wesley allowed a rook sac resulting in a perpetual. The expressions of both the players after that moment were priceless. Magnus was laughing with his headphones on his ears and Wesley was shaking his head in disgust.
You got any link to that?
@@coffeemilk7096 Just search Magnus Carlsen vs Wesley So Speed Chess Championship
and go through it. I don't know the exact timestamp though
Wesley So in the last one: Aight Imma head out
🤣🤣🤣
The title should be:
Top 5 speed chess blunders of 2017
15:09 why not Qe7 after that?
It is exactly the same white takes Rxf8, and we reach the same position. Which is a draw with correct play.
Great video James! My favourite was definitely that sneaky rook move by Giri 👊👊
Thanks bro! 💯🔥
"Place some c4" hope nobody takes this out of context...
I love this guy's commentary!!! 😎
Thanks buddy! 💯🔥😎
The only guy who doesnt talk about every pawn move
Give this guy a bonus, most enjoyable
"Giri vs so - game looks drawn " yea no kidding.
So 2017 was the year of the swindler
good stuff
15:32
Reminds me of Qh6+ by Magnus
Legendary move
Almost like Tal's pawn takes f6 against Hecht
Best swindle I ever saw was the stream snipe by Jerry, ChessNetwork. Savagery.
I'm just happy that swindle #1 was 4 minutes.
i watch all videos on 2x, my brain has slowed down 2x even after 2 years
At 9:00 isn't he wrong when he said white should take the bisschop if it checks the king on d5? Wouldn't a better move be KF6?
Also, you wouldn't be able to grab the B pawn with the king or am I wrong?
@@fabien4436 The same question came to my mind here!
I just analyzed this on lichess. Kf6 leads to a draw because the bishop can just take the pawn on f7, nullifying all of White's threats. The winning line for White, after the bishop checks the king from d5, is to take the bishop (Kxd5), and then note that Black's pawn push to b2 is not dangerous because now White can move the king *back to e6* (totally brilliant, I missed this at first), forcing mate no matter which pawn Black promotes.
@@ronuchit thank you very much !
Saw the last one in a second
Last game: What about Qe7?
Or Qd6 for that matter
@@shantaprasadkamat5813 My thoughts exactly.
Yeah I love tricks like Tal
Good reaction!
At 15:24 does anybody know why QD6 isn't a good move? Thanks in advance
Ya pls if someone get the answer, I was thinking the same.
Because Bf4 I think
@@chixenlegjo nicely seen. But if the queen moves back to C7, then what? Repetition of moves?
Because rook f8 and you win the pawn endgame
It is the best move, as said in the video
0:23 am I the only one thinking :'why in the world did black not play Bh3?' Trading the bischop and knight for a rook seems like a good trade for me
Were these bullet games
Not too sure but probably blitz and bullet games as this was scc
14:44 I really expected Qf4!
Take a shot every time he said swindle
I was wondering why Bd5 doesn't allow the black b3 pawn to queen. You actually can't go for the queen, because after Kxd5, b2, Ke6, and queening will still lose to Rg8#.
I was thinking at check from the other side, Bd7+, but it's still the same concept.
@@draganandrei5356 Or after Bd7, Kf6, with unstoppable mate on g8.
Take your hat off, you don't need it in a studio.
After Re8+, Bf8, Bh6, can't black just play Qd6 defending the Bishop ?
Where's simon?
14:46, swindle number 5
Queen captures rook on e5, pawn captures , Rook e8 checkmate on the back rank, if he doesn't capture back then he's just down a rook and it's completely losing for black
Its a draw
There is no mate
@@emirkarar6231 no, turns out he resigned cuz it wa an inevitable checkmate
It was never gonna be an immediate checkmate cuz of the bishop but the white bishop was eyeballing h6 all along so you could see the checkmate coming from there
Tho i guess you could get out of it with queen e7 giving up the queen for a rook which would've been drawn, but. Ehh he resigned so 😂
Always swindle!
boom! mind blown away.
now I'll dream this pattern against Magnus and he resigns. omega LuL
Where the hell is Williams?
Number 2 is not a swindle.
The first 3 weren't. The guy doesn't know the meaning of the word.
Please elaborate further all of us are not above 1200 here
Noob
what is swindle
Coming back from a lost positions
@@rohithjacob4699 oh ok👍
no, it means to fool someone for your own benefit, in this case, fooling someone into make a wrong move.
Embarrassingly bad commentary: 14:55 "Because now after pawn takes, rook check, Bishop-f8 and Bishop-to-h6, very nice way to finish off a win here. Now of course this is a winning endgame and he did go on to win this game actually" - No, that's a drawn endgame and he did not "go on to win" from that point as Wesley So had already resigned previously.
Rather than acknowledge this mistake (e.g. "Sorry, I misspoke" or "Oops, I made the same false assumption that Wesley So must have made causing him to resign immediately after Qxd5" he just kept confidently saying words without any acknowledgement of making a mistake whatsoever he eventually go around to correctly pointing out how to hold the draw a full minute later.
Funny lol
whoa firstttttttttt
Came because i expected Simon Williams. Well, gotta go with what we have then.
Bottom comment guess why
@@LeventK Y
@@ahnafpa cuz this guy is also good.
James is good as well
@@ym276 but this comment doesn't EXACTLY mean that, it's something like saying "This guy is worse".
2:15 why did queen take rook? it can retreat to many squares. Grischuk is bad at chess
Idk if that's sarcasm but there're a lot of mate threats, king doesn't have squares to go.
Its the far best move according to engine. No you're bad at chess. (Also if you are being sarcastic sorry lol)
@@redegnival4802 In my opinion queen is more important than the king.
