Lost in the Pacific

In this video we share some experiences of being out in the open ocean as we make our way from Australia to Vanuatu. Along the way we stopped at an amazing archipelago and explored some beautiful uninhabited islands with white sandy beaches and an abundance of bird-life. After a couple of days we set off again into head winds which made for a very bumpy ride and a few rough nights with little sleep. We also managed to catch some glorious sunsets along the way. We hope you enjoy it as much as we did!

HOW TO NAVIGATE AT NIGTH?

We use radar and a system called AIS to locate other boats and objects (as well as our eyes). We also set our course using up to date maps to make sure we avoid reefs and rocks etc. 😊
