The real point of an enhanced radiation device is to take out a mass invasion force such as a lot of tanks. It works by causing ionization called proton recoil, and by inducing radioactivity ☢️ in materials. The radiation would make the tanks dangerously radioactive for several weeks afterwards, but newer DU armored tanks would undergo partial fission as well as activation so these would be dangerous for months afterwards. A neutron bomb has a lower but non-trivial blast yield of 0.8 to about 3kt.

      Huh, well how about that...

@@john2g1 Although UA-cam and the channels often misapply it, in fact it's a good thing, or sort of hints at a good thing in principle. Now if only UA-cam, Netflix, and other streaming services would exercise some self control over what kind of programs they show, the world would be far better off.
I just read some Wikipedia articles about the extreme extent that print media + tv used to go to, to verify info before using it and making claims. It wasn't perfect, but they did go to a great extent to be sure they didn't broadcast non-truths, even by accident. They would never publish or broadcast deliberate lies! This was largely because there used to be laws against it, but they also had very strict journalistic ethics, and most of the people also had very strong personal ethics. Now anything goes!
The amount of deliberate lying on tv, Netflix, etc now is just shocking, and it contributes greatly to the dumbing down of society. The world and US populations are growing at an exponential rate, and as they get even larger the unrest and damage done by lies and warped minds will be enormous. What we see now is miniscule in comparison.
It used to be that only nutcases believed in aliens being here on earth, and many other crazy ideas, but now huge numbers believe all sorts of ridiculous stuff. The implications off this for humanity are nor good at all. In fact, gullible people believing lies have killed millions of people in many different instances of crusades, revolts, genocides etc, even though populations were very small in comparison back then.
If networks and industry are not going to exercise some self control (They never do.), then laws should be made forcing them to do at least a minimum amount of fact checking. And places like UA-cam should be made to post a warning in front of every video stating that it is only opinion, not fact, that there is no guarantee any claims are truthful, and that the video is meant purely as entertainment. We are now at a place where a large number of people, if not the majority, are almost terminally stupid and are unable to grasp this fact on their own.
Freedom of speach should not, and didn't used to, include freedom to broadcast lies publicly. That is extremely harmful. It's only the liars who are out to take something from the rest of us that support the total freedom to lie about anything and everything. After all, look what that total freedom to lie about anything accomplished on Jan 6. (Though it was actually the cumulative effect of many lies over a 4 year period.
An equal amount of damage is being done every day, just in a more insidious manner, by liars on tv and the internet. Of course I'm not saying that the govt should dictate WHAT is said, but they do need to dictate that a reasonable effort is made to ensure the truth of whatever is said. Fact checking could and maybe should become a whole new industry. Of course it's not a simple thing. It would take many years to develope a system that works well. Nothing worthwhile is ever simple or easy. But truth is something that can be verified, proven or disproven. It is NOT a matter of preference or opinion.
This system of laws would drastically change the world for the better. Imagine! How would it feel to be able to know that what you are being told, and sold, is always the truth or darned close to it? That the vast majority of what you are told has been proven, and that you can check it yourself with the info they include. Things actually were that way as recently as the late 70s! Gosh I miss it! This is how science works, and it needs to be applied to all public or mass communication.

If you ever want to know why generation X became what we are remembering how it was on the news when I was a kid and the people who were in the military who were in my family and friends family and the realization of what could happen at any time even though I was sheltered from most of it I was very aware of it all and my dad was a Korean War veteran who served in the Air Force and when he talked about it with me I understood a lot more than he thought I could but I was a very good listener even as a little kid and when he was drinking he said more than he remembered the following day. My best friend went into the navy at eighteen and he told me about his experience as a nuclear weapons specialist and I knew what MAD meant completely when I was twenty years old. When I remembered what my uncle who was in Vietnam told me about I was very well informed about what a war would be like on my twenty first birthday when my friend who was a marine in desert storm was talking about it to me and then I was watching the news when the Berlin Wall came down it was a relief that the Cold War was over and the thought of a nuclear war was over for me but it was still there in my mind and it would only take one person to push the button and end humanity and a collapsed Soviet Union might have been the way that the nuclear weapons could end up in the hands of a crazy person who would destroy the world

Those of us born in the 60s have also had this over our heads our whole lives. I was born in 1960. We were taught in school to hide under our flimsy desks.
Nukes did in fact end up in the hands of a crazy person in several cases. Many of them are in Putin's hands.
And a crazy Pakistani who worked for Russia stole plans and parts, and reassembled them for Pakistan. I assume they have built more too. I'm not sure how India got theirs. Or Israel. I highly doubt that any of the responsible nuclear countries sold them to those 3 places! Iran was also well on their way to having them, so needs to be be watched much more closely than they are!
Even South Africa had some. And that country is in real chaos now, so thank goodness they gave theirs up!
Who else has them? Who knows? Russia will probably break up soon. That is a great thing! It's badly needed! But it could become another free for all for a while, as far as their nukes go. We were lucky the result of the split of the USSR didn't yet yet cause a nuclear catastrophe, so I hope the coming breakup of Russia won't cause one either. I think Putin himself poses the most danger. Hopefully he will be eliminated soon.
Of course there will be a nuclear war some day, and dirty bombs will be used. We can only hope the impact is not too colossal.
