    Got fitted into a 243 to the 8 iron, 245 4-7. I think that’s the perfect blend of hot off the face and the feel and workability

    Good comparison. I'm playing the Pro 223. Just did a Titleist fitting and really liked the T150. Mizuno short irons feel better to me than the Titleist. Both feel pretty much the same to me at 7 iron and longer.

    You’re one of the best reviewers. How would these compare to the ZX7’s?
    Also, we would also love you to start doing driver shaft comparisons!

    • @TheEquipmentJunkie
      @TheEquipmentJunkie  Місяць тому

      Appreciate the kind words!
      ZX7's will definitely play most bounce (between these 3) due to the V-sole and offset sits right in between 243 and 150. Head size is on the larger end with ZX7 and should be close-ish to the 150. Short irons should be close forgiveness wise but, due to construction, 243 and 150 will likely be more helpful in 4-7 irons.
      If you live on the pretty steep end of attack, are ok with offset and don't need much help in long clubs then ZX7's are definitely worth a shot.

    This is a tremendous review and as always, spot on. Great perspective on all angles with both clubs. They’re both beautiful irons in terms of look and feel. I’ve been gaming T150 for a while now. I found in my longer irons I fly the ball higher due to lower CG therefore I had my 5 iron bent 1 degree strong and for me, it’s perfect. Something to consider if being fit. Look at your ball flights and descent angles. Here’s a super scary thought too, next year at this time, Titleist will have launched their new T Series irons. It’s going to be really interesting to see how they make these clubs any better than they are now. Better not mess it up! Great review.

      Thanks Scott, always look forward to hearing your feedback!
      Happy to hear the 150's are working well and I agree, it will be fun to see how they attempt to improve on these. Won't be easy!

    Been playing the 243s for alittle over a month now and love em. Only thing making wish I would have gone w the 245s is there a club shorter than what I’m used to playing. They feel amazing, super soft and super consistent, if it’s being consistent w your yardages your after there’s an amazing. I bent mine upright a degree which has gotten me off the toe on hits. I believe mizuno irons are 1 degree flat compared to many other brands but don’t hold me to that. The modus 120 s shafts feel great to, over all very pleased w this iron, great review, wish you put out more content weekly, your one of the best on the tube, keep up the great work

      Thanks for the kind words Stephen!
      The move for you might be to get 245's in your longer irons to help balance out the control aspect of 243's with some extra distance in the long clubs.

    I've been playing Mizuno irons for 30 years and have tried others including Hogan, Wilson, Titleist, and Calloway. Nothing else feels like Mizuno imho! Looking to get fitted for the 243's or 245's or even a combo set next year!

  • @stephenwassinger5154

    I was fit for the T150, and I do love the look but I find them a bit harder to hit consistently than the Mizuno, thus I ended up in the Mizuno 245. I think it is because I have a steep attack angle and the bounce helps me out a lot that way.

    • @TheEquipmentJunkie
      @TheEquipmentJunkie  Місяць тому

      That definitely makes sense to me. Were you able to try out any Srixon irons? Those tend to be a huge success for steeper players.

    Nice comparison video. 2 years ago I was custom fit for 2021 T100S irons. loads of forgiveness with i believe about 70-85 g of tungsten in the mid and long irons. they feel great especially with forged heads. i have T150 5 iron that is awesome.

    • @TheEquipmentJunkie
      @TheEquipmentJunkie  Місяць тому +1

      T100S has always had a cult-like following and I think Titleist made it even better with the 150. Which one do you prefer?

    • @stephendibari5010
      @stephendibari5010 Місяць тому

      @ I only have the T150 5 iron to compare, it has awesome forgiveness slightly more than my T100S 6 iron. Just not ready to replace my T100S irons for slightly more forgiveness. Too much $ involved, I’ll keep my T100S irons until the grooves wear out. If money was no object yeah I’d probably get a new set of T150’s

    Played both irons Had the correct shafts in the Mizuno’s liked the 150s for it’s distance at times For some reason, they were a little bit more forgiving, even though the Mizuno did not have my correct shafts feel that they were just a little softer, and the ball launched up a little higher waiting on the Mizuno to come in sometime this week with projectX LZ’s on them

    Great match-up! I play two blended sets: Titleist 620MB/T150 and Mizuno Pro 241/JPX 923 Forged. I enjoy playing both about equally, but when I'm swinging the Titleists well, they're a lot of fun to play. The only thing I think could be improved with the T150 is a little more bounce on the sole and bringing back the leading edge grind that the 2017 and 2019 T100s had - and that's on the 620s, too. But the T150s are great overall. And they let me know very quickly when I'm getting too steep, so that's something!

      I had the Blueprint S irons before the 243s, and they're not even close. I returned mine after 2 rounds. While the BPs had great feel, they had very little forgiveness compared to the 243s.

      @andrewwailes7858 Місяць тому +1

      I see, thank’s for the input. I’ve tried both indoors and they performed similar for me. Blueprints probably just a touch better for me. 👍

    • @darrylyee409
      @darrylyee409 Місяць тому

      @andrewwailes7858 If you're a more consistent ballstriker, you would probably love them. I play 243s instead of player distance because I want weaker lofts for better launch and spin numbers. But my inconsistency killed me with those BP Ss. Haha! The 243s are actually really forgiving for players irons.

    • @TheEquipmentJunkie
      @TheEquipmentJunkie  Місяць тому +1

      Appreciate it Andrew!
      BPS has the widest progression of offset from PW to 4i and likely has the most bounce between the three heads.
      Softest to firmest feel: 243, BPS, T150
      Forgiveness wise, BPS is more helpful than a traditional CB but I would definitely put it below the 243 and T150. Especially in the longer irons.

    Honestly, it looks like more pros are going with the mid level assist irons over player irons due to forgiveness on missed shots. With all the advanced technology going into the irons I lean towards giving up a little of the looks also favoring performance. You get used to it.
    I recently choose the JPX 923 over JPX 923 PRO because the 923 gave me more playability with 8-5 irons on just off center strikes and more toe leaning strikes.
    The new hot metal was to much help and created a lot of flyers probably better for higher handicappers who need help getting the ball up for distance.
    What are your thoughts about the above-mentioned remarks?

    • @TheEquipmentJunkie
      @TheEquipmentJunkie  Місяць тому +1

      There's definitely as argument to be made with where more pros are going in terms of forgiveness.
      I think you nailed it in terms of striking the balance between help on the mis-strikes and control out of the center. Pros simply can't take the risk of having the ball come out un-predictably hot.
      The question for future iron designs is how can you improve forgiveness without losing spin or lowering CG so much that flyers are more likely. And I think we are are already seeing that become a priority in terms of upgrading OEM manufacturing processes and varying groove designs as well.

    I play the mizuno mp 20's up to a 5 iron but I would like a 4 iron that's going to go higher and further while still spinning.. I bought a 223 4 iron and I didn't like that you could see the back of the head behind the top line and I didn't love the feel. I really just want 5-10 more yards over a standard 4 iron without losing too much of the good stuff....do you have any recommendations?

    The 150 offset on paper is 1.5 for pw compared to 0.98 for 243. You just noticed less offset from 150?

    • @TheEquipmentJunkie
      @TheEquipmentJunkie  13 днів тому

      @@MichaelBloom-m1h I think you might be misreading the offset specs. 243 PW has 0.98 inches of offset or 2.49mm vs. 1.5mm with T150.

    • @MichaelBloom-m1h
      @MichaelBloom-m1h 13 днів тому

      Ahhh ok! Thank you for that clarification! Ok, so the 150 is basically one mm less of offset then 243. If I bent a 150 1 degree strong would that be closer to the 243s offset? I’m trying to lower my ball flight/spin a bit but already draw the ball to much and don’t want much offset.

    • @TheEquipmentJunkie
      @TheEquipmentJunkie  Місяць тому +1

      You definitely can. I would just be aware of the loft progression changes in the longer clubs.
      T150 4i = 22*, 5i = 25*
      T100 6i = 30*, T100 7i = 34*
      This means you'll likely have to bend the lofts to hit the proper yardage gaps you're looking for.
