Thanks for uploading the video brought back many childhood memories for me. I grew up in Besses on th' Barn and lived about 3 blocks from that station. I remember using the train with my family going to Bury market and Heaton park many times in the 1970's . We moved to Canada in 1978
Been on this route hundrers of times over the last 20 years or so. Great views from the cab. Such a long run from Bury to Radcliffe. Why not put a station at Hagside for other commuters to use.
Very good video, however, what a waste of a tram line where there are such long gaps between stations. When the tram reached Ratcliffe 4 minutes after Bury it had passed many housing areas which would benefit from a stop (which is what trams were designed for - short rapid transit). Now the system is expanding why not add in these stops after all thsoe occupants of those houses will have contributed financially to the metro system.
It is overhead 750V DC, as AC is just too dangerous in a streetrunning scenario (it can arc to stuff, DC doesn't normally arc until stuff gets much closer than it would have to with AC) EDIT - they will probably have inverters onboard to convert this into AC power for the motors, as AC motors are much more efficient/powerful than DC motors

4:12 He’s Not Wrong Tho
@Intense He Was Quite Funny Though
Used to ride this part of the Metrolink when I used to go and see my nan in Whitefield.
I’ve always noticed that the staff always wave at each other when they go past

Certainly an oversight on Metrolink's behalf.

I agree, although there is a planned station at Buckley Wells in southern Bury.
Antony are trams have AC electric power and overhead AC?
