- Living History is a project by the Fusilier Museum, @thefusiliermuseum9934 www.fusiliermuseum.com, to collect and tell the stories from fusiliers of all ranks about their time in the Regiment.
The Royal Regiment of Fusiliers was created when four great fusilier regiments were amalgamated into one:
The 5th Royal Northumberland Fusiliers
The 6th Royal Warwickshire Fusiliers
The 7th Royal Fusiliers
The 20th Lancashire Fusiliers
Since 1968, the Fusiliers have served in Northern Ireland, the Balkans, The Gulf, Afghanistan, the national COVID crisis, and in other places across the world.
Living History is the recollection of stories about time in the Fusiliers by fusiliers. It tells about time on operations and of being a member of a great British regiment. Our intention is to build a broad collection of memories and anecdotes showing why this regiment is unique.
This film is an introductory compilation of some of the interviews we have already recorded and are building into separate films.
We would like to thank Independent Television News, ITN, and Fremantle/Thames Television for their footage from Cyprus in 1974, and our continued permission to use it.

Thanks to everybody who has contributed to this great project. We're really excited about telling fusilier stories and hope that this film gives you an indication of what's to come. It's very easy to forget how regiments like the fusiliers are so often called upon to help resolve problems across the world.
A fantastic collection of stories about a great regiment. Let's have more!
We've started a programme of ongoing interviews and so keep a watch out, there's more to come!
This is a great piece of work, and very interesting with the clips from the early days of NI and especially the formation with Monty present. I served nearly 37 years as a Fusilier and had never seen the first 30% of this.
John, thanks for the great feedback and for getting in touch. We've a lot more interviews coming out in the next six months focussed on telling the story of the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers, so please keep tracking the channel.
