I tested again the next day, and for me this perfume is a winner. I'm actually glad that I purposely avoided reading any comments on the fragrance as I really wanted to go into it with a clear mind and let the fragrance speak for itself....and happy to say that it's really impressive.
It's a 'Nasomatto', meaning that it has a subtle complexity to it. Incredible evolution on skin and so many facets emerge at different times. So yes, it's winner.

Was thinking of blindbuying, because so far I would be happy with any Nasomatto except Narcotic Venus, (very good perfume but not for a man in my opinion), but the promo video scared me off, together with people saying it smelled like latex and the Phallic edition cap.

Black Afgano is an awesome place to start with Alessandro, this fragrance will never go out of style and I know that you'll enjoy it. Either this or Duro. Both are the perfect place to start.
And yes, the new productions with Michael are awesome; we're actually in discussion to create something for the channel together (if this goes ahead it's going to be awesome🤩...fingers crossed!)

I just sampled Sadonaso, and too did not expect what it would smell like. Upon testing, I connected to a fragrance I owned years ago and it by the perfumer Filipo Socinelli and the scent was Lo Noh Mani Che Mi Accarezzino, 10 minutes into it I get Rosendo Mateu 5 vibes. This is a much more wearable scent profile, I like it and too a bit hesitant. It could be because lack of notes info. etc but overall I like it, I'll retest to decide if it was full bottle worthy. Love those Mate talks, I should try it one day :)
Maestro Marcello, I was waiting for this. I agree the new ampule packaging for both Orto Parisi and Nasomatto is interesting. In terms of the fragrance, I think it is similar to Seminalis. He gave us hyper sexualized marketing for a beautiful scent. It is not as complex as Seminalis, but as with all his work, I immediately went to purchase. Can't wait for you to get a full wearing. And yes, the hyper sexualised marketing is his way to start the conversation "Sex Sells" and I know that Alessandro loves to push that button🙄
As you've mentioned, it does have components of Seminalis; on my skin (from the little testing that I've done...BTW I wore it again the next day, and I LOVE this fragrance) I get more floral, powdery musk (with a little sass)....the sillage is magic with already a few people around me commenting on how good this smells.
I have ordered my bottle (remember everything comes to Australia in Tall Ships so we've got still 6 months to wait 😩) so looking forward to spraying this new inclusion.

I’ve stocked up on MFK GFS, people haven’t woken up to this one yet in my humble opinion, so unique, fresh, invigorating, classy and well performing, a 10/10 for summer. The 200ml bottles are a work of art and feel great in the hand by the way 💯

I loved reading your comment of "having a normal conversation" because YES! that's the aim. I want this to feel like we're in the room together (even though we're not). Having said that I am planning the "International Mate Talk 2023" and we'll then have the chance to do just that!!
I would recommend you test out Sadonaso. For me this is a winner. I wore it again the next day and it works. Even my wife Sandra, mentioned how pleasant the fragrance is and how disconnected the scent to the ad promoting it is. I don't get the 'plastic' vibe, but again that blotter style of application might be robbing me of the opening notes, so I do look forward to spraying the fragrance....BTW I have placed my order with my local retailer here in Australia so I do look forward to adding this fragrance into my collection in time.

I actually liked the promotional vid for Sadonaso, especially the ending. I feel like at this point we've seen it all, and it's not like this corner of perfumery is geared towards the faint of heart. Personally, I find it very interesting to see the inspiration behind the scent and I think the promo points to it. It definitely gives the vibe of a daring but flying under the radar, dark pheromonal, intoxicating and provocatively androgynous kind of scent.
I'm very curious about it and looking forward to try it, your reaction to it was golden.
I think that yes, I need to watch the rest of it (how intense can it really be??) plus you've intrigued me on the ending of the video 🤔
I'm glad that I never read anything about what the fragrance was about as I was always planning to smell it on Mate Talk and share first thoughts on it....so yes, I was flying totally blind and was only basing my thoughts on the promo video which in my view has nothing to do with the perfume. This is a really classy, well balanced fragrance....but it definitely oozes a 'sexy vibe'

I get what you're saying based on your impressions having actually tested it. I think Alessandro Gaultieri's approach to scent, the body and the interaction between the two is very much at the core of his work, especially in the Orto Parisi line. Kind of an harmonious view of the human element we try to look away from, whether it be body secretions or animalistic instincts. I think the promo presents us with the psychological and social mechanisms we've built around lust and sexuality, in our desire to control and regulate them. At the end when he sits in the basement, away from the bustle of unleashed desires and fetishes, from the dirt, looking quite peaceful, collecting an elixir of various pheromones. It boils down to chemistry, no matter what previsions went upstairs...
I hope I've managed to make some sense, I may have gone a bit too far lol. Regardless, I agree that the scandalous aspect is a strong marketing move and I think it's very well executed. In the stream of ads and content today, producing something that is memorable and even makes you reflect on the intention behind it is very rare.

Hallo Maté, today I got finally my Sadonaso. First sniff... it's a typical Gaultieri work. If I analyze the scent, yes... I smell the honey, Peru balsam, musk, fig and carnation... but second sniff... sexiness and I'm in trouble 😅 It's smell like a ............. and you're right, "keep that tasteful"... like as a hotel room after!
At first I didn't know I like it or not, but after 30 minutes I'm in love with the new Nasomatto scent. ♥♥♥

And yes, this is a hotel room, way after 'check in'....it has this equal part, clean but sassy but sexy but luxury feel to it....during this Mate Talk, it was a very clear image in my mind and when I wore again the next day I had the same feeling from it (never 'dirty' just sexy)

I own more niche fragrances, but most of them falls apart on my skin and become unpleasant after spraying 30-40 minutes except all of Alessandro Gualtieri fragrances. They are beautiful throughout on me and I love all of them! ❤
I'm wearing Sadonaso still today and this is a very interesting and exciting fragrance. I got compliments afterwards 12 hours to wear it. I love this scent more and more and that makes me happy! 😍😍😍
Don't be very very afraid. Sadonaso is absolutely wonderful. Silver Musk + Seminalis + powdery something something. Yes, you're right, disconnect from the ad and enjoy it for what it is. It's subtle and beautiful with typical Nasomatto longevity.

For some reason I thought that Nasomatto had been abandoned. Not everything they make is right for me but I love the brand, and I'll always be interested.
The feeling that I get is that both Nasomatto and Orto Parisi are his ongoing projects and he adds as the moment captures him. Unlike other brands where they release annually, I get the feeling that Alessandro allows creativity to take hold and then off he goes....but what do I know😂 this is only the impression that I get, this isn't based on any fact😬
I always say that one day I would love to interview him and this is still my vision...we'll see

[coffee] West Coast US one of the better boutiques is BHP (Beverly Hills Perfumery), I think the guy's name was Alan - he was nice. I definitely need to go to Fueguia with you next time haha, "a nice discount" on some of their exclusives line would go a long way since the prices are pretty out there.
Re: Sadonaso - while I do currently have it rated #3 in my 2023 releases list, it is not something I'd wear. Mostly sweet & creamy with animalic tones, but it's not a gourmand and there's no civet/castoreum. Think it smells like a more musky take of something like Absolute Aphrodisiac from Initio.
Thanks for the recommendation on BHP, I will commence my reach outs and work to set something up. BTW I was thinking of doing a meet up at the Fueguia store in NYC, maybe you could come across to this?? (not sure where you're placed in the US).
The discount that they offered was 20%, which I was really shocked when they mentioned it...awesome discount directly from the store; I'm going to try and do this again for NYC.

For me, the Sadonaso has a lot of similarities with Tom Ford Metallique.
I love Nassimmoto but their marketing has always been silly
100% agree. It's clear that "sex sells" and I feel that Alessandro has embraced that motto to the core. But if you push aside that part of the business/marketing and just focus on the fragrance's, I find that they're incredibly unique and wonderful to wear....like I discovered with Sadonaso🧡

Great to hear from you @chinnynwuba6264, for me this is a cool weather fragrance (or evening but not summer). I find that the musk is quite heavy and would be too much for me in summer or heat

I drink gyokuro (from Kyoto) from a special vessel for this type of tea, made in a Japanese teapot with water similar to that in Japan.
Regarding Gualtieri's fragrances, some seem successful to me, such as Pardon, Duro, Black Afgano and Baraonda. Others seem to be like some cheap room fragrances with a synthetic smell that lasts forever.
I have the impression that Gualtieri does not create a fragrance with a vision, he just makes something that the marketing people then think about how it should be sold. And so you see such silly marketing. No, I don't intend to comply with Gualtieri's "request" to buy his product, I'm really not curious.

@Daniel L Dear Daniel, not everyone is an expert in fragrances to understand the complexity of the scents developed by Gualtieri. I probably belong to that category too. But still, not every individual on this planet has to have similar preferences to you and maestro Alessandro Gualtieri. I definitely don't like Blamage, Fantomas or the same Brutus.
Also, not everyone has to like the "tactic" of promoting any product. That's why feel free to enjoy what you like without inhibiting the experience of others.

Yep, I feel that whatever Alessandro release's, just be prepared that it's not going to be your classic perfume pyramid set up....I'm finding that Sadonaso is a lot more complex than what you get on first smell. Not sure if you've had a chance to test this one Daniel, but I'm putting this up there with his best work....would love to know your thoughts.

Firstly that's wild that you get a "sassy toilet at a pub" vibe from it!!! I would be curious to know what the sillage of this is doing for you. I find that with Alessandro's work, what you sell and what others smell are 2 different things.
When I got home, my wife, instantly said, "Wow, that smells great!" I asked her to describe it and she mentioned, powdery, florals but musky at the same time.

I do love that everyone know's when the 'Mate Talks' are meant to drop and I personally am conscious if it's either running late, or worse, next day!!! But it was for a good cause 😇 Sadonaso had to be in my hands
When we do a meet up, I'll remember about the pocket knives that you carry and make sure to avoid doing any sudden movements🙄....regarding the Online Classes, at this stage I believe that they are limited to Australia (because they have to send out the samples) but no fear, I'm already sharing this idea with other brands that are Europe based (watch this space!)
