Miyagi looks sad with a bit of regret as Julie leaves like he reminisces about what it would be like if he was a father seeing his own daughter going to the prom. Especially when he tears up watching her leave. 😢
I love Mr Miyagi's priceless reaction to her beautiful dress🙂it makes me really happy. What makes me laugh is that he was protective of Julie when meeting Eric😂.
Mr Miyagi is a wonderful wonderful person and he’s very good at martial arts he can kick the bullies and bad people ass immediately so it’s best to learn his martial arts because that would make you the most badass fighter!
+karabrodsky2852 Yep. That is correct. I am constantly hoping that they got married and had kids of their own. And if they appear in Season 6 of Cobra Kai, they should appear exactly like this.
Whata wonderful man Mr.Miyagi was,I felt sorry for him when he was trying to hold back his tears after Julie left the room.He was probably remembering the death of his wife and stillborn son and the fact that he never got to be a father 😢. But he really made a great father figure for both Daniel and Julie. We all miss you Mr.Miyagi 😢 R.I.P
But Daniel had no direct contact with her that we know of, and he never left the Valley. Miyagi might have told Daniel about her, but it's a stretch to think they had any close contact. I'd be more interested in seeing Col. Dugan than Julie. He and Silver would get along well.
I was suprised they got Julie Swank to do this movie as she was a crdible actress. Guess she had to pay the bills. I mean after she read the script she had to think how cheesy and dumb it was. Maybe heard about the other KK films....the premises that made no sense. Kasrate Kid 2. Daniel-San gets into a "fight to the death" at some JP ceremony. Yet no one calls the military police that were just next door to the village. Or how there are no police in the Karate Kid films or the now Kobra Kai Netflix series. And how in KK2 the villiagers not only don't call the police they sit and watch as if it's some show. Then as Daniel-san is getting beat they whip out a drum "toy" ....they ALL carry one around with them. Then start swinging it around so the "hand drums" would sound. That's what villiagers should do when they see 2 teen boys fighting "TO THE DEATH". :) Funny enough neither gets hospitalized. Not even the Japanese girl "Kumiko" who was struckk by Chozen the "bad JP teen boy".... None of the villiagers bother to swarm Chosen to disarm him. His uncle was supposed to be some 7th or 8th degree black belt....did he not know how to disarm a knife holding attacker? And why did a JP teen on a JP island Okinawa have a Thai knife "Balisong".? Instead of a super sharp JP knife. SO much more effective. :) The JP are known for their knife/sword blades (in real life....to this day...best blades in the world....made as they did 1000 years ago...99% anyway...only change is that thte swordsmiths use a manual machine shop hammering device and not 2 apprentices with JP sledgehammers). Any how... amazing how the KK franchise was so successful.
It's not amazing at all lol. The movies are not historically accurate, but most aren't, especially movies from the 80s. KK was the first VHS tape I got in my life, for my VCR I got for my 8th birthday. I still enjoy watching the films with my children and the new show as well, and I'm an actual trained fighter. Its okay to suspend disbelief and enjoy a story for the story. They are corny , the fighting styles are fake as hell and ineffective, but it's a story lol, it doesnt have to always make sense if its entertainment, especially for younger viewers. I mean I can sit there and RIP these shows open if I wanted to, especially the fighting which is obviously staged. In fact in reality, most martial arts aren't effective against a trained fighter , be it in military hand to hand or even newer mixed martial arts, but tradition and tales have purpose and are more about morals and ethics, while improving health and lifestyles. We can honestly go deeper into making stuff seem worse if we wanted to. I mean a kid who was trained for a year or so fighting a lifetime student and losing is absolutely an insult to the art itself as well. Again, it's a story, and doesnt really need it, that's why we have to sit back and just go with these things and try to enjoy them lol, they are no more unrealistic then thor , hulk, iron man and super man!
I don't think Cobra Kai should try to integrate NKK characters into Cobra Kai. NKK was panned, and has no connection to the other trilogy other than Mr. Miyagi. It would just weaken Cobra Kai.
KK3 was also panned, but they brought that movie into the show and it was genius. This show is more for the nostalgia fans and they know how to make it work. Julie needs to be in this too. I'm sure they know what to do.
Not necessarily. They could have Kreese collapse while on the run, be picked up by Julie who is passing and takes him to the monastery, and him trick her into teaching him the secrets of Miyagi karate - and as she was more receptive than Daniel, she probably learned them all. Also, she can fight when she can't see. Kreese could then return to The Valley and cause chaos.
@@kpopfan674or could relate to tori as she also lost her parents, tori is lost and down this recent season as she has been switching from cobra Kai then miyagi then back to cobra Kai. And in the years passed it’s possible miyagi became a permanent person in Julie’s life that he might have shared his past with her than with Daniel before he died and could shed some light why he hid this part of his past from Daniel
Of course the story gains some of its power from sexual or romantic tension. But this is set in contrast to the Buddhist discipline whose concern is to let go of "gaining mind." So we have the core thematic conflict which drives the plot. Right from the opening scene of this clip, Julie is caught up in a very natural egoic sense of worth as a package of female beauty. We KNOW that this is a trap, and yet we all fall for it. This is our condition as human beings. And, unluckily, Julie is really cute (the Julie character has been cast with someone cute in mind) so this trap will be very difficult to challenge. It's also a novel challenge to set in dramatic form. Right View, Right Mindfulness, Right Action, are part of the Eightfold Path. How can these be realized by the actors so that we feel the truth of them in the drama? I don't recall exactly how the film plays out, but I remember feeling some disappointment. In my ideal, Julie would transcend all the stereotypes of her culture and realize her true nature as someone, for better or worse, a little bit outside the consensual. We ALL are, that's the point. We're all lonely in our uniqueness, and that is not at all a bad thing. But my memory is that the film gives her a soft landing, all nice and cozy. Why? Well, because she's a cute female, and we must validate the importance of being a cute female. A cute fighter, sure, whatever. Well, I have far more respect for her character than that. In Zen Buddhism we say, "nothing special." When Julie achieves "nothing special" there will be her true power as a human being. But pop culture, even in filmmaking, can't go there. What would it even look like? It would be like a musical phrase, suddenly ending before the last
Mr miyagi looked like a proud father and loved Julie with all his heart
Same with Daniel, they were both his kids and he loved them very much
If for me Daniel was his boy and Julie his girl, that's why I would love for Julie to appear in the last season of Kobra Kai
Daniel and Julie were the son and daughter he never had.
Miyagi looks sad with a bit of regret as Julie leaves like he reminisces about what it would be like if he was a father seeing his own daughter going to the prom. Especially when he tears up watching her leave. 😢
He does now sees her as a daughter to him and he definitely meant all he said to her

To be fair, Daniel was his student.

it's going to be cool for actress Hilary Swank to return to play Julie Pierce in Season 5 of the Cobra Kai series and join the series' cast.
