Pecker up my friend. We’re still here and will be when you’re ready to return. Enjoy the adventure.
Been there myself and although I only moved from the UK to Poland 24 years ago the first two years were so damn hard and it wasn't until I was in a stable relationship that I could find peace in my new home.
I remember at least for the first six months when I used to finish work and go home and have a ciggy on the balcony physically breaking down in tears, thinking what the hell am I doing here this went on to some extent for two years until I started to immerse myself into the culture and traditions of my adopted home.
Once I did that I started to understand and accept things better and through this I met my wife, whom I have been married for 21 years.
The point is that it isn't easy and my solution was to go balls deep into the culture and traditions of the country that I lived in it helped so much that I wasn't so isolated then, which I identified as my main issue.
I am notying that this is the case with you but it is worth trying anyway as understanding and accepting the country you live in can be so rewarding.
Good luck pal.
Thanks for the comment mate, I’ll definitely start to get myself out there and experience more to help adjust
We all got your back mate ❤, don’t worry in 1-2 weeks everything will kick in and feel like home. You could already see the improvement each day. It’s just like starting at a new school
Chin up fella. That is a massive week. Super challenging and it's times like this, that it's hard to see it getting better. It always does. Hard times don't last. Keep going
Stay in the fight Blake, things will get a little easier over time and you'll process the change soon enough. The raw honesty is what makes your videos are enjoyable and absolutely correct, it's ok to express your emotions regardless of gender. Now go and prepare those pitches!
Another good vid. Any chance you could please run us through how to make a real good backyard pitch. Cheers
I have so much respect for you, what you have achieved is pretty damn amazing.. keep going my friend
Hope your all good mate. It can't be easy what your doing. It's only for a short time, take it for what it is, a working holiday and a chance to enjoy yourself! I'm enjoying the work days showing the prep of the game day wickets and the planning of the wickets for the weeks ahead. Would love to see some vids of you playing over there if you get the chance for a local club. All the best and stick at it. You'll look back years ahead and think how cool it was to have the experience.
Mad respect mate takes a strong man to admit his emotions let alone on such a public platform. Props man keep your chin up.
Just wanna see the work vlogs you doing your thing and smashing it bro 💪🏼 keep at it
Excellent video, really enjoy getting a true perspective on the challenges of being a Groundsman 🏏
All the best mate. Hopefully they see how dedicated you are to the role and provide better equipment at the ground.
Love your work mate. Keep your head up and things will improve and get better
When I played at VUC ground back in the 1980's it was coconut matting with sand underneath. You can only work with what you have.
Hi my darling boy, my heart breaks to see you feeling so lost and miserable. I am sure things will get better and hopefully in a week or two you will be loving being in Amsterdam. It is such a challenge for you which could reap huge rewards so be patient and look after yourself. I am off to Cairns next week so looking forward to some sunshine, well hopefully it doesn’t end up shit weather like your experiencing. Thinking of you a lot just prey it all works out for the better for you. Lots of love Grandma💕
keep your head up brother everything will work out, loving the content keep it up.

@@bghettovlogs2064 yeh put another comment but think it might have been denied cos of a Facebook link but there is a Aussies in Netherlands group mate, meet some fellow Aussies, might help mate
Hey, big fan. I watched a lot of your videos. You inspired me to go to England for a season and tips to deal with it. I've never been overseas, so anytips on that too
England is easy I think, it’s similar to Aus. So you’ll be fine there
Just do your best with meeting people and being open
keep up the vids mate, is the shed due for a tidy/clean up? from what you have said last guy wasn't a help, it looks pretty messy 🤣
I am a uk groundsperson if you ever need any anyone to bounce off pitch preparation ect just give me a message . Uk and Europe would be very similar , sadly the weather could be also 😅
Mate be positive. Hard I know but look back you will be smiling at this time. You are doing a very good job.
Just been some of your messages and seems we all think the same only the best for my grandson💕💕
Mate this plz keep going
I live in England and I play a high standard off cricket been offered cricket in Australia for the last 3 seasons and haven’t taken it cus I can’t flight cus I am scared off flighing keep going be strong love your videos ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I know it’s hard mate but please keep going I hate myself for not going aus the last three years and I know you will if you don’t keep going on this journey
Got to love the Melbourne cricket in October feels. Bloody cricket. That’s why we play it
Can certainly see why the last bloke threw the towel in and didn't give a flying fuck his last few days.
Absolutely your allowed to have a cry.mate I've been estranged from my 2 gorgeous children for 5 years. And have not one mate I can turn too so I know how shit life can be ,and also single.😢😢
I am loving the 'day to day' reality of being a groundsman. I have played cricket for nearly 40 years and never had any involvement in this side of the game. I have played up to a reasonable Premier / Division 1 level so have a reasonable understanding of things. The covers is pretty abysmal for such a club. I know it is probably not as well funded but how can they be taken seriously...
Ye that’s not good but talk to the club or threaten to leave get some new equipment it’s a professional club keep it ghetto love u replies to these comments hopefully I can meet u someday I wanna do some grass content myself start my own little company in turf career u inspired me to
Mate feel for ya that set up is embarrassing.
Been nearly 10 years since I was last in Amsterdam so hopefully some of this is still relevant
Cheap and cheerful - sandman walking tours, some of the paid night walks are excellent, day time free tours are too but might not fit in well with your turf doctoring
Outlay of some hard earned - way to all blokes hearts is thru the stomach right??? Google Cafe de Klos, set ya back a few euros yes but my goodness it’s a good feed. Walk off the feed into town to the Heineken bar on the corner of the main square (sorry I forget the name of this one) have a few jars and people watch. Good for the soul
Chin up mate doing a damn good job in shitty circumstances. Those decks look mint, the old body getting itchy feet to have a bowl!
Chin up fella, plenty more fish in the sea! You’ll find someone. If moving was easy, everyone would do it! Stick it out for yourself. The growth from living abroad will come ❤
Man so embarressed about my people that they don't take you with them, and speaking also English with you, so sorry for you, that's awfull to work like this, I hope for you for better times and that the Dutch people have some more respect for you, every human deserved that, good luck, greetings,
It’s been good now. The more recent videos show that I’m enjoying it a lot more haha
Super embarrassing that this is the national teams facility and they don’t even have covers that properly fit or the proper equipment!
defo need some domes
Mate they don’t get the funding
No disrespect to you either Blake! You can only work with what you’re given but surely they can help you out with some gear
It’s in the works. Trying to organise some things
