This online webinar describes bracket prescriptions with regards to: * Tip * Torque * In-out dimension * Rotation * Slot dimension With several clinical applications
Thank you very much DR.Akram I am a master's student happy to finally fully understand the brackets system in detail, very kind and generous of you to dedicate your time to help orthodontist 💞💞💞💞💞💞💞
Thanks a lot for sharing this informative video on bracket prescription. It has made my understanding clear and it is one of the most knowlegeable videos on brackets. Thanks once again
Sir the way u explain and present a topic just makes orthodontics look so simple. Thank u so much . Sir similarly can you explain stepwise treatment protocol for extraction, non-extraction, deepbite and openbite cases?
Dear Prof. Alhuwaizi, I really enjoyed your video because it explained something hard to understand in a easy way. I would like to make a notice at minute 23:35: there are 2 companies in the world, I work in one of them, who are producing brakcets with a perfect slot 0.18 or 0.22 because are using a diamond blade after MIM or Casting. May I ask you if you know any university study on this comparison, please?
Really enjoy your lectures, I learn so much from them! Would be fantastic if the arabic ones might be subtitled in english perhaps? Then I would watch every single one of them:) Thanks again!
And here I was thinking about doing a DIY braces experiment. Now, all I want is for him to do my braces! Doc, are you in New York? Or did you train someone here? I need help asap 😫 🙏🏾
Beautiful presentation as always prof....a few questions relating to the topic and beyond....what is the rationale of using square arch wires (as you have not mentioned them relating to wire play when engaging torque ), some vendors state their advantage being early catch of a couple thereby early 3 D control of both torque and tip; does this only applies on squarish slot sized bracket rather than the regular rectangular slot? second question, with sliding mechanics example retracting canine (2 step retraction) can i use 18x25 SS (22 slot brackets) just to retract canines to class I, less friction and less loss of anchorage; then change to 19x25 SS to retract all 4 incisors to maintain incisor torque while retracting due to stiffness and size of the wire. Last question which is not related to this topic... can you please make a webinar about cephalometric analysis specifically why certain clinicians or institutions choose different analysis than the other....eg, some strictly use ricketts, some jarabak, some McNamara, as much as the diagnostic key points are all the same ...is there any advantage of one cephalometric analysis method over the other Thanks in advance for the knowledge your sharing
Thank you for the encouragement. 1. Regarding square wires, they only work well with torque when they fill the slot which makes sliding more difficult. 2. I think its fine to use 18x25 or even 17x25 to retract canines but you should observe loss of anchorage as molar control is less. 3. I will try in the future to address cephalometrics
Sir why isnt there a standardized bracket position as in mbt has the canine and incisor at the same height occlusogingivally but alexander adds 0.5 mm to the canine bracket compared to central incisor occlusogingivally
Dear dr How to determine the gauge degree, (I mean 3.5, 4.00, 4.5, 5) is it same for all teeth? I remember in practice we used to use same degree for all anteriors, I just bought the gauge I don’t know which degree to use
Sir, as you mentioned in the video, we can put lace back on canine on niti wire to prevent the crown moving mesially, but will it make the roller coaster effect as well when we start to retract the canine on niti wire? Regards.
Sir i didnt understand english when someone speaking ....so pleaae clear my doupt.... My dentist said that he use high qualitie braces (metal) which imported from spain also said that it is very expensive ......please tell me how to find good braces with words
It’s very sad that none of these brackets were created to have any comfort in your mouth. I believe it was absolutely forgotten the fact that your cheeks and mouth would be touching these things possibly they could’ve been made around or dome shaped in order for Soft tissue to rub on them and not create irritation. But ask your patient just to put some wax on it for two or three years. It’s absolutely ridiculous.
Thank you very much DR.Akram I am a master's student happy to finally fully understand the brackets system in detail, very kind and generous of you to dedicate your time to help orthodontist 💞💞💞💞💞💞💞

satay safe and healthy doctor.
You're welcome
A question , so basically we put the lace back right from the beginning of the treatment so the canines wont tip forward . ?
And here I was thinking about doing a DIY braces experiment. Now, all I want is for him to do my braces! Doc, are you in New York? Or did you train someone here? I need help asap 😫 🙏🏾

From the beginning

Good point. Every technique is different and every case is different like if the patient has pointed canine or a flat smile
Thank you so much
lots if help full.video thanks
Very informative video

It is described in derail in the MBT book
Sir...What MB5.0 BRACKETS YOU Mentioned at the beginning Its the first time I heared about it?.....?
It is the new version of MBT made by Forestadent Company in Germany. There are a few changes but the principles are the same
Very nice lecture
Thank you my friend

Thank u sir
Thanks alot
Most welcome

Good point. Lace backs don't help with the roller coaster effect but they limit early anchorage loss. However, the canine retracts very slowly
Thanks Thanks
