I think it's waterproof against tears of people who bought it, and rugged back is for people who will throw it away remembering that they paid money for it
UleFone Armor 12 5G is thin and light, equipped with 15W wireless charging, 3D super linear dual speakers, and it can play FM radio directly without an antenna, which is enough to attract me.
It’s no way going to have that spec for $150, Qualcomm sells these high end snapdragon chips to the manufacturer for like $70-80 then the cost of 16GB DRAM and 512GB NAND Flash, just these 3 parts alone will be very close to $150…
God I'm hooked on these! I have a soft spot for browsing Ali and looking at all the crazy Android phones and what they claim. I mean we all know they are junk and lies but I just love watching these reviews to really see what they are. Several times I've been tempted to buy one just to see what I get. You saved me the money. I also love how the ram and rom cheat is literally built right into the OS.. Really speaks volumes about the entire country.
To be fair that 2nd drop you did kind of toss it up and it did land about the worst place possible, right on the screen and maybe on the edge of your concrete. I'd have liked a couple more simulated drop from pants pocket height on it's sides to really test those side bumpers before you gave it the hot supper.
so far, your video is pretty decent. But just so you know, float service is the name of the service that allows floating widgets and chat heads. Like messenger. nothing crazy about it, if you remove it you just wont be able to use chat heats and floating widgets or phone calls popping up on top of the screen instead it'll be like old android phones where a phone call would close your apps and cover the whole screen with the caller.
I was kinda hoping for you to taze it. Probably the most fun video I've seen from you! I'd love to see more unbranded AliExpress, Banggood, Shoppee and similar phones tested like this!
The listing and product description are hilarous. I don't think even Google Translate could make so many mistakes if they just translate it straight from Chinese to English.
The random calls thing really sounds like somehow the device was able to be used in a sim swap as you were using this. That happened to my ex's phone. Thankfully I feel like you're smart enough to not connect anything to phone numbers you use for texting, but whoever did that with his sim card stole some very important accounts via 2FA
Ok, I was thinking there was no need to rename the series, you could have just pulled from any site, you're still wishing the listing is right, so it still fits, I'm just happy with this kind of content.
i love your stuff man, i can't wait to get my first "Welcome" phone so I can start enjoying this crap myself!! Should have her by the end of the month!!
UleFone Armor 12 5G is thin and light, equipped with 15W wireless charging, 3D super linear dual speakers, and it can play FM radio directly without an antenna, which is enough to attract me.
The lady who was reciving calls from that number was actually being called by scammers. Changing the caller ID is as simple as writing the wrong return address on an envelope, so scammers usually use a random number from the same area as their targets when calling. It's very common for scammers to not pick up their phones before their robocallers time out, thus the odd silence.
I had someone call my phone and they were really rude about it though, they were like why are you calling me? I'm going what? Because I wasn't calling them I was playing a game on my phone yeah but I wasn't calling anybody. They finally understood after I explained it like three times but I'm like what the heck?
I enjoyed the video. Thought: Motorolas are advertised as having a water resistant "nano coating" sprayed on the internal bits. I'm wondering if this phone has something similar. It clearly isn't water tight as all the droplets and the red badge of courage attests to; but it lived.
This LOOKS like it could use a similar frame as my china phone, though mine is actually china branded and not shit and costed me about the same as this listing ( Ulephone Armor X8 ). The tripple camera and fingerprint location and button placement match, but not the sim slot location. Also, the Ulephone is actually legit rugged in that it does have water insertion protection. Anyway the camera island and fingerprint sensor location are shared among a lot of phones so not saying this is a Ulephone rip off. It's not a direct match at all, just optically close'ish in layout. And the actual form of the plastic is the first thing a clone manufacturer changes to 'differentiate' himself, it's the cheapest option since it doesn't change any of the internals and it's most effective since it optically changes the phone so people always notice the desired 'branding' effect.
These days have been buying Moto g series phones , used to buy cubot when going for cheap large battery devices . Thanks for reviewing this quality device so we don't have to :)
Your drop test is pretty flawed, IP cert only says 1.5m drops so waste height was spot on. Throwing it in the air, even a properly certified IP rated phone will likely crack. What's more important in those drop tests is checking angles of impact from relative smaller heights which depict more real life scenario's. Like dropping on a corner ( which is why rugged phones have some protection there ) or dropping flat ( which again is why a rugged phone never has a display that isn't recessed on some way ). Overall pretty fun though, long but that's what's we expect. Thanks btw for reminding me of those codes, maybe this time I will remember them.
I absolutely agree with what you are saying, I did want to do a bit of a more comprehensive durability test but I really just wanted to pull it apart instead. But I definitely will take it onboard for the next phone 100%. I appreciate the honest feedback!

Something interesting! The screen doesn't have any LOCA to the digitizer. I really wanna see the screen working just by itself, especially with the cut out.
Lucky wobs Yeah, that’d probably make the phones less unbearable to use cause it won’t have all the garbage those Chinese manufactures cram into their underpowered phones, battery life will probably still be terrible though.
