- Gabrovo, Bulgaria is the home of the Museum of Humor and Satire. And since Stevo is a comedian, we knew we had to check out this mountain city. We were happy to find a major city straddling the Yantra river in the Bulgarian countryside full of parks and statues.
We only had a short time in Gabrovo and would have loved to spend more time there. But the time we did have there was well spent. This is definitely a part of the world we’d like to visit again.
The Museum of Humor and Satire is one of the most unique museums we’ve ever been to. We don’t want to spoil anything, so if you ever have the chance to visit Gabrovo, you must check out the Museum of Humor and Satire. Or am I joking? Watch the video and find out!

The statue of Racho the Blacksmith that it is in the river 04:05 has a backstory. The idea was so that they will never have to waste money on putting flowers.

Gabrovo is the absolute geographic centre of Bulgaria. Interesting video, the museum improved a lot in since 1992 when I visited it.
Thanks so much! Yes, the city had such an interesting significance at different points in history because of it's location. We were very impressed with the museum!
Gabrovo is also called "The city of bridges". We have over 10 bridges here. I recommend visiting the Etar, it's a very beautiful place with antique houses, also in Gabrovo. It has lots of antique shops where you could see beautiful crafts from the past, museums, playgrounds and lots of interesting things.

@@Twocantravel Gabrovo was a craft town , then it became an industrial town ! There are many jokes about the people of Gabrovo because they are very tight -lipped . They speak very pure Bulgarian !
