  • Wednesday 26th June 2024, another early start & a long walk of 2 1/4 miles, stopping short (by a mile!) of the target of Langton Herring as we were beaten by the threat of daybreak. Things were hotting up fast, but the fishing was….mah! Still 5 species managed and a lovely tan 🌞
    Filmed on an iPhone 13 & GoPro hero 9 black.

    Hi Lincoln good effort as always and your videos never disappoint. I have been plagued with straps too on my last session. Hope you get that first Bream soon to enjoy a fresh cook up. Those Trident tackle components are pretty decent in my experience. Tight lines and looking forward to the next one soon. 🎣🎣🎣🎣👍👍

    • @fishdisco3107
      @fishdisco3107  28 днів тому

      Yes, the straps are a nuisance indeed, and as you say, very much in abundance at the moment. Those hangovers worked well, I think I might try them fixed between 2 crimps & omit the spring though, as with other crimped rigs, when the spider crabs snip your hooks the rig is dead as you loose the self adjusting properties of the traditional up & over. I’ll give it a try. Fingers crossed for that bream😎… cheers buddy 👍👍

    A good effort, that's a long walk, Over the years I walk less and let the fish find me It can still bring good results😂 at least you had the beach to yourself !

      I’ve been wanting to do that walk for a while now, just had to get it out of my system while I still can😂 it feels like the decent fish can’t find me wherever I go at the moment😂 thanks for watching buddy, take care 😎👍👍

    Nothing for weeks and then 2 vids in 2 days, missed it fella! Nice one Lincoln, remember it beats working in a hot kitchen! I think your after a michelin star with your bait, scallops wtflip! Nice snippet of Portland yesterday, enjoyed that. More of that please! See you soon, take care.

    • @fishdisco3107
      @fishdisco3107  28 днів тому

      Hi Richard… it’s just the scallop roes, we use them occasionally when they are nice & plump, but these were surplus so I kept them for bait, they have been working well for the hounds👍 I’ve not exactly been uploading consistently I know😂 ….I have a few days off work so will fish as much as I can get away with, which hopefully will include another trip to Portland after the wrasse🤞 many thanks for watching, take care 😊👍👍

      Hi buddy, thanks for watching😊 I’m really no expert, but I think for ease of access, reasonably low parking costs & good fishing, you can’t go wrong with Abbotsbury, it’s as good a spot as any I reckon, anywhere on the stretch from the car park to the teeth 👍 let us know how you get on! Cheers pal, take care 😎👍👍

    Good stuff! Was down there the other day at dawn and got 2 mackerel and a keeper gurnard (delicious). Think it was a tub although it was red, but maybe that's wrong! No bream either!

    • @fishdisco3107
      @fishdisco3107  24 дні тому

      Hi 👋 great to hear the mackerel are showing their faces, i firmly believe dawn is best also 😉 glad you enjoyed the gurnard, underrated fish 😎👍👍

  • @landlockedseafishing
    @landlockedseafishing 26 днів тому

    Great video as always. My goal this year was to get a good sized red or tub but also, as I have never fished or caught a Bream, that is also on my list. Well done Lincoln.

    • @fishdisco3107
      @fishdisco3107  26 днів тому

      Cheers Rob, I would have asked you along mate but I don’t think you would have fancied the walk on this one 😅 there are bream about, just not on my line yet 😂 small hooks on 2-hook rigs & you’ll get em mate. Those gurnard are real stunners….taste great too! Thanks for watching buddy, take care 😎👍👍

      @landlockedseafishing 25 днів тому

      @@fishdisco3107 Yeh the walking with tackle would of been an issue for me. I have my rigs ready and have caught plenty of Gurnards before but I just wanted one bigger than the regular Gurnard, the Bream (that I have never caught} would take from the same rig and bait I'd guess. I've been out fishing here and there but caught nothing of significance, just Pout, Dogs and loads of Snotty Eels. Catch up soon!

    That's it, I need to hit Chesil.
    It has been way too long! I used to fish Langton Herring quite a bit. Shame the triggers aren't as common along there anymore

    Big dogs by the look of it and no one else around - looked like you could have had a massive bonfire with all that drift wood . No bream , no mackerel - mmm what's going on there then ? Next trip bag up I reckon

    • @fishdisco3107
      @fishdisco3107  27 днів тому +1

      I did have a little fire going towards the end, I was living in hope of a fish to cook as I did not bring my stove to keep the weight down….waste of time that was😂 yes, the dogs were clonkers, had to look twice that a couple were not small Huss. I’m not too surprised the way it fished though, I’ve never had a great day in conditions like that, just a nice tan😂take care buddy 😎👍👍

    One of those tough days mate we all get them. And the mackerel are really scarce all over the place I'd like a few to eat and a few for the bait freezer but nothing 😢

    • @fishdisco3107
      @fishdisco3107  25 днів тому

      Same here Adrian, don’t want to fill buckets, but a couple for the table and some for bait would be fab, it’s often like flicking a switch though & all of a sudden the water is boiling!….fingers crossed! Take care buddy 😎👍👍

    great video as usual, how long did it take you to do the walk that is impressive, last time i fished LH i rowed accross the fleet 30 plus years ago, i did manage 6 bream today from the teeth , that walk is enough fo rme, scaled right down size 3 and 4 hooks small baits, mostly undersized but one went 34 cm and tasted very ncie for tea.

    • @fishdisco3107
      @fishdisco3107  28 днів тому

      Hi David, I was thinking it may fish a bit better today with this bit of wind, well done on your bream😊. I was using size 1’s & 1/0’s I’m quite apprehensive to go much smaller this early in the summer with there still being some good hounds around. It took 1 1/4 hours there and nearly 1 1/2 back, but it was dark and cool on the way, I felt every step from the teeth to the car park on the way back 😂…. And was very glad I had decided to fish where I was & not go the extra mile. Cheers for watching, take care 😎👍👍

      Spot on mate, 1 1/4 hours there in the dark, nearly 1 1/2 on the way back (more stops & much hotter!) I did pack very light though…thank god 😂 cheers buddy 😊😎👍👍
