In this video, we discuss the likely causes of dry, flaky, itchy scalp and how to treat it.
We'll also discuss some helpful hair care habits.
I noticed something funny with skincare.
The more the idea of taking better care of your skin gained traction, the more people started creating skin conditions like acne, folliculitis, rosacea.
And it's a similar theme with haircare.
The more the idea of taking better care of your hair gained traction, the more people started creating hair and scalp issues.
In both cases, most of us are not making the connection between what we're doing and buying and our inevitable results.
Instead, we're buying up all the skincare and haircare products in droves, hoping to solve a problem without understanding the problem.
And the industry keeps pumping out more and more for you to buy.
I hope this video helps clear things up!

Let me know if you'd like me to do a video about how I care for my hair, and if you have any specific questions you'd like me to answer about my own haircare routine! 😇😊
YES YES AND YES!!!!!!! A BAZILLION YESSESSS!!
Yes, please do. It would be awesome if you made a video about “haircare myths”.
Definitely!!♥️♥️
Do you use dry shampoo? Do you think its good for the hair? Thankyou!!
Yes I would like hair care tips. I would also like nail care tips because your nails are so beautiful 😍
yes, i want hair tips to get healthy hair, especially for colored hair. thank you olena!
Ooh yay! That’s gonna be a fun one to film 😉👏👏👏
If you have product recommendations or ingredient recommendations I'll be all ears! My scalp is very oily and, therefore, I shampoo everyday. It would be ideal to shampoo every second day if possible but it feels uncomfortable when I do skip shampooing.
YESS PLEASEEE OLENAAAA I NEED YOURR HAIR TIPSS😭😭...
im so desperate about my hair💔. i have frizzy, very damaged hair, crus, dandruff, hair loss..😭😭 even though i haven't bleaching/coloring my hair🥲
I would love to hear about your "hair routine" and the products you recommend! Especially the daily shampoo and conditioner you use, and if you use a hair SPF? Thanks in advance ❤ your videos have changes my life these past couple years! My skin has never been this good since I was a pre-teen!! Not kidding ❤ thank you for all you do and your positive impact! ALSO, giving you a fellow Canadian wave 👋🏼
I would love to hear your product recommendations!
I would love a hair care video with product and hair brushing technique recommendations! I’ve been searching for how to regrow and thicken my hairline / scalp and I’ve heard to brush your scalp with a heavy hand morning and night to stimulate the follicle, but that advice is confusing! If you make this video, I’ll be so excited to watch! 😻
Yes!!! Hair tips please 🙏🏽 by the way I love your hair 🥰
Thank you for the compliment! Will start brainstorming for a hair tips video soon 😉😘
I have always had scalp issues to some extent. I used to use Head and Shoulders back in the day but it was so drying. Several years ago I heard of ketoconazole shampoo and oh boy that has been amazing. I have used it for many years now, and it also stopped those weird hairline “breakouts” I would sometimes get too (now i realize those were probably malassezia folliculitis and not true acne. Makes sense why my normal acne treatments didn’t work on them lol).
"Don't get me started, but I'm about to get started" 😂😉 Missed these good videos Olena 🥰🥰
Definitely want to see a video about your hair tips 😍
olena , make a video about good hair care products and body products please 🥺
I have seborrheic dermatitis and tried the no poo thing for a while.... OH BOY that was a terrible idea
Keep up your videos-and yes bring on hair care tips! Love the simplicity that you bring to the table on caring for ourselves! 💜💜
How can you tell that a product is well formulated? What ingredients to look for?
Hello, do you think that shampoo can cause acne too on the face? Thanks
Hello Olena! I would definitely love to know more about scalp care, knowing what to use for your hair feels like a mind f*ckery without the correct information and all the misinformation out there. Are sulfates dangerous? Should they be avoided? Do they thin hair? (I've unfortunately experienced thinning hair where my scalp would appear visible, I hope to never go down that road again)! Thank you Xxx
Sweet Olena I was diagnosed with seborrheic dermatitis LOTS of dandruff and hair loss, the dermatologist sent ketoconazole shampoo and it worked the first 3 months than it all came back with vengeance 😄. I only used like this 1 shampoo every 2 days not even conditioner or anything else. Now I am using Tricovit to try to help with the hair loss but the dandruff remains. Do you have any shampoo recommendations? Thanks!
I did the no poo for a while and my scalp got so bad,the hairdresser said to aswel and caused alot of hairloss
Aw that’s too bad! But at least you know what did it 🙈
Would love to hear some hair tips, please
Yes, more hair videos, please!!!
Can you share your nail routine and your favorite nail polishes?
Hey Ashley! I did an article about my nail tips and fave polishes on my blog! :)
The biggest revelation for me was that ✨I can wash my hair, when it gets dirty ✨ Btw love the pink vibe behind you 🍓
Same for me! And thanks so much - my hubby got me really awesome neon colour changing lights for Christmas 🎄😁
Your opinion about curly girl method
Ooh what exactly would you like to know? 😙❤️
Is this method is healthy for your hair?? that delaying your wash days and applying hair gel and stylers all the time is it good or bad for scalp health?
My favourite shampoo brand is it's a 10
What about talc johnson and johnson lawsuit?
Also not sure that acne is only a problem of trying products, could be food, could be constipation, parasite infection- what do you think?
Food doesn't cause acne. neither does constipation, nor do parasite infections -- these are all widely repeated myths.
What are your favorite nail polish brands and colors? I love your nails!
A human who actively and aggressively defies brainless conformities❤ you 100% deserve recognition for your hard work and ideas 👏
Whoooooa, I've never thought about it quite this way, but really appreciate the compliment!! Thank you!! 🥰
Don't need to watch before I'll give it a thumbs up. It's a video by Olena. Of COURSE it's amazing!!
Yaaaay, really appreciate your support!!! 🤩🎉🙌😘
The long awaited video!! So excited to watch 😍
I hope it’s helpful 😍😊
Hair tips mam.. please
I have curly hair and my biggest improvement in hair health has been washing more frequently and not letting knots develop in the hair. So yes I did dry brush a little. But I don't regret it!!!!
My hair is wavy, tried to curl when wet and dried wavy. I find my hair prefers to be brushed dry. It poofs it so it's annoying but when I brudb it wet it streches, hurts and more falls out :S
@@Reenomeano dry brushing especially fine hair makes it poofy. Like Olena has her hair in the two buns that will work real well after brushing to smooth and wave it out. Especially if you smooth down with oil or a salt spray!
@@minniepearl09 ooh that's a good idea! Atm I've started using a mouse that seems to help keep it less frizzy, I do have an oil but haven't used it yet I'll try that too!
Thank you Olena for this great and useful video, as always! ❤️❤️
Yay, happy to help! 😃
Happy new year Olena!
Aw Happy New Year to you too! 🥰🥳
Lost it at the Edward scissor hands reference. Lolol
I’m lucky my hubby edits these vids for me - and that he has a good sense of humour 😭😂😂😂
@@OlenaBeley indeed you are! Great teamwork love seeing it
Yessss hair tips!!!
Whooohoooo, the latest video is dropping VERY SOON! It's already fully edited, we're just in the process of scheduling it. Hope you enjoy! 🥰
Would love a hair tips video! Is your hair a fine texture?
The most issues that I've had with my hair is keeping the color of my hair the way I want it and take care of my scalp at the same time. My hair is bleached and I want to keep it looking this cartoony icy silver color but most (good) silver shampoos that I've used make my scalp itchy. I've been using a different shampoo for my scalp and hair and you mentioned that being an option so I think I'll be doing that until I decide to change my hair color again!
Btw, loving the lighting in this video. I like that "I'm just in my house but it's pink" vibe.
Ah yes, bleached hair comes with it’s own set of challenges! 🤓
Thanks so much - the neon lamp was my husband’s idea, it changes colours (Christmas present for me!). 🤩🥰
Hair tips pleaseeee
It's definitely on my to-do list!
How often do you use dry shampoo and what’s your favorite ones if you do so?
So good!
Yay, thanks for stopping by Madalyn!! 🤩👋🏻🎉
Oh my god please stop spreading misinformation and bullshit. You can get all sorts of scalp issues from diet and from lifestyle and putting harsh chemicals on their scalp. This is a joke. Making fun of organic shampoo made from real plants with real benefits and not man made petrochemicals… wow how are you allowed on the Internet. People please take hair advice from someone who actually has nice hair.
Everything is made from chemicals, including plants. You’ve fallen for predatory marketing - doesn’t excuse you from being rude. ✌️😅
Lmao 🤣 petroleum is not even manmade
Have fun rubbing essential oils on your scalp, I guess. You sure know better than anyone else in the history of everything ever.
Lol you are a joke
Olena, what do you think about Bioderma Pigmentbio Foaming Cleanser? Is it safe, is it reliable?
