When did the price hike from £320 to 0ver £900! that's just crazy! I bought my Eastman at an airshow directly from them for £320 in the early 2000s, and sold it for the same price around 10 years later. I fancied another one, so just checked the website and couldn't believe the prices now! Mine was a beautiful seal brown horse hide. Worst decision ever to sell it!

I’ve got two. Just love em. I also like Aero. Beautiful jackets too. Watch Catch 22 the 2018 series. Eastman made the A-2s for that. I have the rough wear 27752 and the Eastman great escape model that came out in 2012 for Heritage Research. Had a B-6 as well. All perfect jackets in my opinion.

I own several, bought my first one from Gary personally at the Great Western Gun Show. They are, as stated, wonderful. The knits do not pill like other makes. Gary has the wool down. You should protect the knits from moth damage-I used a garment bag, with some moth balls in the bottom of it. Rare but when it happens you will cry. Gary offers several different original maker jackets, in which he has replicated jackets made by individual contractors. Once you see the subtle differences you will want more than one. An example would be radiused collar corners, as opposed to pointed collar corners. Or the scallop of the pocket is changed. Or the zip. Or a reinforcing stitch in a certain place. And the original maker's name on the tag. They are works of art and Gary has the look down pat. They blouse at the waist band. The waist band does not gather when the jacket is unzipped, unlike a certain other manufacturer. The back is one piece-certainly harder to produce but many replicas cannot afford that big of a piece of hide. Gary is manufacturing his own spring loaded zip as well. The only other brands I have seen with comparable work would be Steve McColgan (Hollywood contractor) and Real McCoy's NZ. Both are hard to find now.

I have an a2 from an American maker Flightsuits ( now Gibson and Barnes ). Bought in 1998 , hard daily wear for years. I had them make it in black with black knits. This jacket is in cow leather and built like a tank, all origional knits, liner and zipper I'm wearing it as I write. I have a mahogany horsehide on order with Gibson and Barnes due to arrive 1/15. Very good, durable jackets built to last decades an mine clearly has. Your jacket is stunning that eastman HH knocks it out of the park.

ELC A-2s are the bee's knees as far as I'm concerned. I own/wear an Eastman Standard, Werber, Monarch, .50 Cal, Rough Wear. The detailed, authentic looking ELC A-2s are second to none.

Hi John, yes certainly a considered purchase but worth it. It really does get even better with age, enjoy.

Having purchased 4 Eastman's, I can personally vouch for your high praise. I own the Werber A2, Rough Wear B6, M422A, and lastly the A1 Capeskin. Gary Eastman is a perfectionist for historical accuracy, not to mention, expert tailoring. And your right, with more wear, these jackets go on to develop a unique patina.

I agree completely. The attention to detail and quality is hard to beat. The next jacket on my list is the ANJ 4:)

One Style hey bud, recently started looking into these jackets. I love winter and the colder months to dress up warm. I have been looking at the ANJ-4 by simmons in scotland. Did you get an ANJ-4 after?

I have the Eastman A2 as produced by the Rough Wear Co. during WWII. Also by Eastman, I have the WWII equivalent of the later G1 by Gordon and Ferguson.

I have had a Good Wear Leather Coat Company reproduction of a J. A. Dubow horsehide for a year, great jacket. If you are in the US this company is a nice historically accurate option. I also have a Cooper Defense Contract A2 in goat hide. Not historically accurate but fits the modern physique very well. It's 20 years old and has received heavy use motorcycling in various types of weather. Just now showing wear, sweat stains, scuffs, bugs that I can't remove, but still a great jacket. I was looking at Eastman and must now postpone that purchase since I bought the Dubow.

Hi thanks for the info. J A Dubow is not a company I've heard of so I will check them out.

@@kenamaro3942 I have a few and they are good for what you pay .I had Eastman and aero jackets and I don't find them so superior.Yes they match the hides better and have a better consistency in the stitching but you pay for that consistency .They have come a long way and got better from time to time .I bought 10 year old jackets and new jackets and the current ones are great .
