Another awesome Grab Bag. Really cool machine at Horseshoe Curve. Those Darwins make me scream at my TV every single time, and it's usually something I can't put as a comment. Spooky shadow.
12:33 What beautiful scenery, and such an awesome message from this young lady thanking VF for making her late daddy happy. May he rest in peace ♥ VF, your response to this was wonderful. You are the best 👍
Nice show of Ferromex, KCS with a SpongeBob and the Rocky 🤩 thanks VR
My late Aunt and Uncle had a huge 2 door Air Stream when I was a kid. The would be floored at thier cost both new and used. Those aircraft inspired campers are BEAUTIFUL BEAUTIFUL BEAUTIFUL
A PanAm Box Car! Haven't seen one of those since the 80's. I'm amazed! TY VR!
We love all the fallen flags, every time we get a new location we wonder what the yards are hoarding, lol.
To quote an old Hot Rod magazine, with those cars in La Grange, you seeing,"CHOPPED AND CHANNELED MODEL A'S AND MODEL T'S",NICE WORK,AND DESERVES RECOGNITION!! THANK YOU 😇 😊!!
Brings back my pre-teen car modeling, buy an AMT kit, and build something a bit different.
17:52 Nice catch of those ballast hoppers dispensing the ballast along the right of way.
A "Grab Bag" with a surprise at the end, neat ! 😁👌👍 A+++
Nice touch with the editing as usual; thank you for the attention to detail.
16:31, CSX 1850, The L&N unit! Now that's cool!
Just noticed I'm on the grab bag, thanks again John!
Thanks Virtual Railfan for all the excellent Grab Bag editions, Have a blessed weekend.
Have you to West terre haute Indiana lots of traffic transportation and lots of trains 🚂🚂🚂🚂🚂 from Indiana love your videos terry
6:26 Talk about perfect timing with that Amtrak train passing by those empty centerbeam flat cars.
Thank you NS for clearing the foliage at Horseshoe curve and giving us all a better view!
La grange is always a challenge for the train engineers. Loved the old steam train looked befitting to show it in black and white! And all of the Darwin candidates amazing. Recently saw one my area who left his car in the low tidal area here in Coastal south Carolina I guess he didn't know the tide comes in twice a day! And flooded over the roof line with a lot of onlookers. Who buys a brand new $50k Camaro with only basic liability 👺 he was only 20 I think his name was Darwin! Ahh yes to be two thirds younger again 😅
Love your grab bags
Very nice😮 Thanks 😊
Love the grab bags man
We love our viewers too!
Excellent Video!!
🌵🌾🇮🇳🌾🌵
Thank you CSX...love the L&N ❤️👍
I am never surprised by what people do. the L&N heritage unit is wow..
one of these days....
Thanks!
nice job y'all!! thanks so much for doing the Grab Bags - I really enjoy them! God bless :)
Love the Reading and Lehigh Valley heritage units
Woulda been a great special-unit morning at Elkhart! Wow!
Great to see not just one, but two SD70 MACS in Executive livery at Fort Madison, thank you. At Chehalis, the first D/C had to straighten his Jacket after climbing down from the Train - how annoying that must have been for him.
9:40 we not gonna talk about how quick that came to a stop... the emergency brake works amazing but it's a pain to get back going again from what I understand
C.P. should really put a pedestrian overpass at that crossing in Revy. They sometimes block it for up to two hours. We all know there is an overpass about a kilometre away but that is then a 2 K walk. Saskatchewan is taxing railroad property frontage at normal business tax rates I believe. If B.C. did that it would help fund railway related issues as well.
Brush cutter clearing brush was cool and nice lash up at Horseshoe Curve, lots of power and older rhode names!🛤🚂
How much did you have to pay NS V/R to clear that tree line so we could see the trains better? Thank you!
I was hoping that i would see a Grab Bag
without any Darwin Candidates on it oh well
but there are a lot of great trains as usual here
and i'm watching for the trains.😁
🚂🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🇺🇲🇨🇦💨
13:21 I like how Rocky Mountaineer drop off passengers like VR said and then re turns back at 13:51 that an logic
13:11 I’m from Vancouver Island too! It’s said that we don’t really have trains here
Awesome
Ok, Norfork and southern crew stepping up ,thank you!
😊 what do you mean stepping up?
@@_Matthew_D waving to the camera ,we appreciate it
@@bradleyjanes2949 absolutely. I always get out and wave going west. Going east I just wave from my seat :).
@@_Matthew_D thanks bro
13:47 Interesting how 8014 has a cab-mounted Mechanical Bell, yet it still uses an underside-mounted Ekyrail E-Bell.
16:13 Trinity Railway Express 1002 finally on its way home after being rebuilt to return to service after having been gone for over 2 years. We've been waiting on it for quite a while, so great to finally see it again.
1002 will be home in a day or so! Will be interesting to see it run!
Those birds scattered every which way when that C-17 flew over! Probably thought it was the biggest Eagle they'd ever seen!😮😂😂
Years ago we caught a plane shadow on the road to the right on the East camera. A much smaller plane but it was cool too!
Vídeos espetaculares, sensacional, parabéns amigo por essa captura muito linda, like garantido, saudações do Brazil 🇧🇷
Bem-vindo, obrigado!
God bless that girls father
That was really sweet of her, I hope she sees this Grab Bag!
Thank you. That was me. When I found out that I was going to be geocaching near Skykomish this summer I planned a detour just for this. My dad would have loved this place. Also, thanks for editing out the part where the wind blew away my sign and I had to chase it 😅
@@kathrynd5158The editing was no problem, the wind seems to have an attraction to signs, lol! There was no one on the camera until you were walking to the car, so I digitally zoomed in while editing. It’s never as good as a camera zoom, sorry. I also wish your Dad could have visited Skykomish, it’s so beautiful there. Take care and maybe we will see you at another camera location.
1:31
@@joepeach997 No problem. I anticipated that nobody would be on camera
I'm glad CSX didn't give those La Grangers the horn of death.
hello virtual railfan it's is randy and i like yours video is cool thanks friends randy
At 18:25 Desi & Lucy meet Mr Haney in LaGrange and both were driving properly as opposed to the flustered 5 when the train was coming
I thought it was Fred without Ethel. Mr. Haney is still looking for all of the curves at the junction.
That Beautiful in 19:20 😍😍
0:14 NS 1067 trailing over Horseshoe Curve
0:24 Amtrak ballast train!
1:03 unusual flatcar which I think is used for carrying switch sections. A Boston and Maine hopper is on the same train
1:30 CP heritage on a BNSF coal train along with a CSX DPU
1:53 CP Military unit 6644 as mid-train DPU
2:28 NS 8104 trailing
2:38 ALC42 334 trailing through Ashland
2:48 N&W 475
3:12 four Ferromex SD70ACes trailing (again at 6:37)
3:36 NS scale test car along with NS 4000 as DPU over Horseshoe Curve
4:00 trimming trees along the curve too
4:38 switching job at TVRM. I'm not sure how often this line carries freight, as it stretches all the way into Georgia
6:02 It's rare to see Darwins in Chehalis
6:49 AGPX 8323 is a GP10 that was rebuilt by the Illinois Central. It has worked in St. joesph, Missouri for many years prior to repainting
7:23 C-17 Globemaster! This is the Air force's large transport aircraft and I think I heard it fly over when I was at work that day
7:55 five KCS SD70MACs (two in gray) that have been sold off to PRLX. I guess those ex-BNSF C44-9Ws took over their work.
9:35 this emergency stop takes 42 seconds to completely stop the train. 23 cars pass by too. Someone sneaks between those cars and past the conductor.
11:08 Take back what I said last time, this is the dumbest Darwin VRF has caught so far! Train is still moving and he risks getting crushed by the wheels!
11:27 three cars moving about on La Grange's main street while a train approaches and waits. They need to ban parking on this street
13:18 Rocky Mountaineer reversing and changing tracks. Said station (yard offices) are 3000 feet east of this camera
13:58 I knew I was right in that it was some other Street View map's car!
14:50 DOUBLE HERITAGE! 100 "Midnight" and 108 "Red-Head" on the Lake Shore limited!
15:26 NS 8102 came by a few minutes before the Amtrak in the previous clip did
15:48 NS, CN and BC Rail triple-header
16:12 TRE cab car in the middle of a mixed freight
16:27 CSX 1850, L&N heritage, as mid-train DPU
16:50 Loram ballast machine with the mid-train DPU. Pan-Am boxcar follows
17:15 It's been awhile since I've seen one of the CEFX maroon! NS bought 10 of these 40 units (again at 19:04)
17:43 Herzog ballast train dumping closeup!
19:20 two Amtraks in Springfield station
Tree jousting at the Horseshoe!😅
Seems like everything is from Skykomish or Fort Madison or OKC on all the recent grab bags.
7:22 C-17 shadow
11:03 Train starts with Darwin under it
There needs to be a boxcar with the VR logo and information traveling the country.
Maybe we should start a sponsorship deal - I'm sure thay could work!
Illegal. Can't advertise on rolling stock. Cyr doesn't need any more money anyways, he takes you fools to the bank as it is.
Two silly things what is the stopping distance on the street runner at that speed with the white car and I'm in Milwaukee it seems that with the buy out of small railroads etc that we are seeing more historical/ special engines and cars being moved around
That C-17 will have been SUPER LOW for the shadow to be that big.
Should have heard the audio from the other cam, heard C-17 a long way off, played it back several times, um, loud 😊😊
It had just taken off from Charles B. Wheeler airport, just across the river from Doc's Caboose.
Since the sun is 93 million miles away, the shadow is the same size as the aircraft no matter what height it's flying at.
The shadow would be the same size no matter what altitude it is at, but the shadow will be clearer the closer to the ground the object is.
10:30 😮
11:02 😮
11:40 😮
0:19, NS/Reading Lines SD70ACE 1067!
👍👍👍👍👍👍💯🍀
They're a special breed in KY, playing chicken
with actual trains.
And like watching trains the person that went under that train in Canada that was really crazy he's lucky he got on the other side before the Train move
Praise GOD!
CSX got the L & N unit right!
'Cept for the cab. CSX, do better. Get the WHOLE locomotive done up on the heritage units.
11:06 plenty of time to go under
I have never seen a freight train take off like a rocket anyway
The Big 10, the Moffat line is a shadow of what it used to be, the UP destroyed it just like Tennessee Pass,
Tennessee Pass also "destroyed" by 3%+ grades and being the "long way around" thru Pueblo.
Lord, these Darwin’s never learn
They will, but only the hard way.
@@JohnPingley-op6mqI was thinking the same thing
Makes me wanna go... AAAUUUUUUUUUGGGGGGGGGGHHHHH!!!
@@JohnPingley-op6mq yeah, with an expensive hospital bill or they will have plenty of time to think about it up above.
Probably because the trains sit over crossings for hours without moving so people learn to hop them with ease. Maybe railroads should stop sitting on crossings to prevent this behavior.
9:44 Emergency Application
16:18 I assume the single Trinity Railway Express cabin car is headed to Canada for repairs
I hate to say it but it's a matter of time
Amtrak with those yellow containers? Where are the seats for people? No windows? Is this 4th class passenger transport? ha ha
The bottoms open so the load just slides out at the station. Darwin express... heavy on the "press"...
Is there a change in emissions laws coming? Lot of EMD MACs in dead lines......
Csx Heritage Enigine L&N Is Here in 16:26 😁😁😁
16:47 5322 is an Oddball - CSX DC Traction ES40DC with an AC Traction Lightning Bolt
Somewhere in the dark past, I've read that CSX put the lightning bolt on the DC cabs to show that the unit was rebuilt and is now AC.
I was watching that train when the guy went underneath. It was stopped for a while and then almost the second the guy got to the other side it started to roll again. Close call.
12:33 - I'm not crying. YOU'RE crying.
The L&N heritage was nice til I seen the nose.if you are going to do a heritage unit the do it the way it suppose to be full heritage paint scheme I mean geez
This^. NS does 'em right.
What’s going on with the KCS units at WayCross Georgia ? 8:11
6:48
Got BNSF 6887 too!
could you add a camera in salem or
Does a Northeast Regional Amtrak train go through Springfield, MA between Boston and New Haven, CT?
The Paradise, PA, ROW at 0:35 is Amtrak property?
The ex-Pennsy main Harrisburg to Philly is Amtrak trackage just like NE Corridor.
Kcs units at waycross are "cores" for the new Metra units
Progress Rail/KCS SD70MACs becoming Metra SD70MACHs
I thought Amtrak stopped doing work trains
8:06 bass boosting songs be like
A guy runs like mad to cross dangerously in front of a train that is literally 5 cars long. 🙄 He couldn't just wait the extra 30 seconds???
I keep wondering where that Eastern Diamondback is hiding in Horseshoe Curve!
They're timber rattlesnakes, not easterns.
@@bobsmith9947 I stand corrected, thanks. It was a huge Timber Rattlesnake! Had to have eaten Fluffy the poodle!
The Darwin in Canada was the worst one yet. 👎. I better send the La Grange Chief Engineer some more excedrin. It may come handy. Extra strength should do the trick. 💊.
What are those items at :48?
Is that snow on the ground in Indiana at 2:27? Hail?
White gravel.
Playing chicken with a train is not a smart move at all.
13:59 that’s what I said on the last video
1st
First
Liberals would use this as a excuse to get rid of trains.
PIN ME PLS IM FIRST
Once again these “Darwin awards” are absolutely nowhere near an actual incident. Maybe if the trains didn’t sit on crossings for hours people wouldn’t be so inclined to hop them. Still waiting for an actual example of a close call with someone hopping over a train.
*Awesome*
