"Ura nage" is "Bruni"
"Makikomi" is "gadavlebuli"
"Seoi nage" is "kisruli"
"De ashi barai " is "ceri"
"Ko uchi gari " is "kauri"
"Drop seoi nage " is "chaxtomili"
"Uchi mata " is "amosmuli"
"O goshi " is "mogverdi"
"Ashi waza " is "chachexva"
Thank you once again Chadi .
Chadi can you list the grips they use? It'd really hard to see from the footage
Chadi, շնորհակալություն! Thank You brother!
Great Video, lot's of info.
There are Few other throws as well:
Gare sarma - outside leg swip - Okuri-Ashi-Harai/Tani O Toshi but without dropping down behind, you rotate them around in a circular motion rather than straight back, kind of like tsasae but from the side leg and behind it
Shua sarma - inside leg swip - O Uchi gari and Ko Uchi Gari
Chokhuri - double same side lapel Throw - Eri Seoi Nage (Illias Illiadis Loves this throw)
One correction but might be just the way I was taught, Kisruli is more of a Harai Goshi than Seoi Naga. Control comes from controlling the neck and head and either over the thigh or over the hip throw.
Also, Grips are very important. Georgian Grip, in Judo it's called Eastern European Grip, is where majority of quick throws are set up. There are two variations. Double lapel grip, where you are squared up and grab same side lapels. And single lapel back control where you dominate one side, it's over the shoulder middle/lower back or belt grip with your strong/throwing hand, and your weak hand traps same side lapel. One more thing, and this is just a small detail, Chaxtomili is not drop Seoi Nage. It's actually much closer to traditional Japanese Seoi Nage where lift comes from the legs going from knees bent to exploding upwards, you try to keep back straight, knees never touch the floor (in Georgian wrestling if 4 points touch floor you reset and get up).
"Uchi mata " is "amosmuli" 2:30
"O goshi " is "mogverdi" 3:07
"Seoi nage" is "kisruli" 3:53
"Ura nage" is "Bruni" 4:34
"Makikomi" is "gadavlebuli" 5:50
great video! i would add that modern chidaoba is mainly based on kartl-kakhuri style, from the regions of kartli and kakheti with some techniques from other regions. but basically every region in georgia had its own variation or style of chidaoba with different names. in megrelia it was "rkinepa" in guria "chedoba" , "librgiel" in svaneti, "bech da bech" in racha, "mosh da mosh" in khevsureti, "mklavmobmit" in achara and many many others. sadly, many of these styles are lost.
Near easterners and eastern Europeans are they most amazing humans on this planet; they're descended from at least three different proto-human sapiens, they dominate combat sports as well as some of the intense sciences and on top of that they generally have a strong culture and community. Beautiful
They are not near easterners(now called the middle east) and they are not a part of eastern Europe. Georgia is in the Caucasus region of Eurasia. Lol
And what proto human sapiens?. Is that even a real term? Lol
(All modern humans have homo sapiens, neanderthal and denisoval roots.
When I think about georgian wrestling I think about Merab Dvalishvili 🇬🇪🔪🔥
Ilia is from there too
Merab was a judoka before sambo.
Georgian grapplers are awesome.
Thank you for sharing ☺️.
Awesome comparison between Judo and Georgian Chidaoba Wrestling, Chadi.
It's almost the same in Mongolia. The traditional wrestling helps their judo alot !
Also looks like the Mongolian wrestling. All of them are awesome martial arts
Could you do one for Scottish Backhold Wrestling?
I just asked for Cornish Wrestling, so many great wrestling styles from the UK!
Would love to see some Backhold too.
Georgian wrestling is beast as hell. Great video
Georgian wrestling is biggest culture for us and please don't call it "best in hell" it is disrespect to Georgian people
I did my first Judo class today man!!! I usually do BJJ but we have a Judo instructor at our dojo and I decided to give it a go and I instantly fell in love with the uchi kome (I think that’s how it’s spelled) and the sweeps. Felt so zen afterwards as well, it was a lot more traditional and “eastern” than bjj
That's so awesome, really happy for you
@@Chadi that means a lot chadi, you will be remembered as a great judoka as long as history continues 👊
Brilliant video!
Would love to see something about Cornish Wrestling if you haven't done a video about it already.
As ever many thanks for your hard work.
I had the chance to be invited to the national championship this year during my world judo tour project. Such a nice discovery ! I'll publish a video about it next wednesday
is this how Tochinoshin learned his trade?
This looks Simlar yet diffrent, then Cornish- Style Wrestling. Being tauight some Justu as a child from My Dad, I can see some things that can be done in a Street Fight. But that's because Dad learned at Home as well as in The Streets and Dojo.
What a great video! Thanks!
Thank you again Chadi for this nice video!
🙇🏻♂️
Most of the traditional and folk wrestling are more close to Judo than the olympic wrestling.
P.S : I prefer when you show judo technics from competitions.
Olympic is based on hot climate styles.
Waiting for your video with martial arts journey 😄
Make a video about Kokh (armenian wrestling) and armenian grecorroman wrestlers. Love your videos Chadi. Salud !!!
Wow a real life suplex/ rock bottom combo moves
Chadi thanks for sharing your knowledge with us.
Can you please share in a comment or make a special video about what are the easiest to learn and most practical no-gi judo throws for self-defense? A throw that can be learnt in 2-3 months period and it has the same practicality in real life as the suplex, double and single leg do. Thank you!
Chadi which countries style of Judo do you recommend for MMA and why?
Mongolian is pretty great, close range
I am quite intrested of the origins of chitaoba wrestling it must have ancient origins before the middle ages.
Here is a captioned documentary by UNESCO. You can get some information about chidaoba. At the end you can see very old fresco from Alaverdi monastery that was initially built in 6th century but in its current architecture it was built in 11th century.

Never heard of this style. It's really interesting that an state within the US has its own wrestling style. That's why so many strong wrestlers come out of that state...
The Georgia this video is talking about is the country Georgia, not the state.
@@redkarma3005 Where is that, sorry?
@@tokorojj the georgia u are talking abt is known for peaches and our georgia in caucasia is known for being strongest people phisically and spiritualy
@@pecheniaa8774 Never heard of such country, sorry. Is it a Russian province?
@@tokorojj georgias languange is older than whole russia and georgia got some tree that is older than most of countrys
great video
Some great throws shown here.
As a judoka I would love to do this!
Sir is 35 too old to start judo?
Never too old
MERAB!!!
Wow I didn’t know that Atlanta has its own wrestling style AND language *kappa*
