That’s so exciting! Take a deep breath right before and have some water with you so that you can take a sip if you have to think of an answer 😋 good luck!!
Sorry I actually don’t remember! I do remember that we were provided with a passage though with more factual information and the prompt asked a broad question so I tried to use information from the passage and from my world knowledge to answer. Sorry I wish I could remember more!
Santazzia Collins No not at all actually! They’ve seen your resume and know how well you did in your classes and that you’re joining the program to learn more. They just want to learn more about you 😊
Of course! With the writing sample they gave me a passage to read and a prompt at the end. I can't remember what it was about but I try to always pull in facts from the passage and from my world knowledge to tie everything together. They had computers set up and a proctor in the room (pre-covid time) and she set a 30 min timer for when each student began. We signed on, made a word document and flipped over the printed prompt. I hope that was helpful but always feel free to DM me! :)
Thank you so much for your tips! It really helped. I do have one question: do you have any recommendations on books that introduce the field to a beginner?
Awesome I’m so glad! I don’t have any recommendations for a book necessarily but I do recommend going to Asha.org because that is where the most reliable information about this field will be and what this field bases their practice on 😊
on this day of me thinking of going to get my masters, did I discover I have to do a interview. Does this apply to all universities? Asking from California.
Hello! I did not have questions about that in the interviews however every program is different. That is part of our classes so I’m guessing they don’t expect you to know everything because they will teach you more about that in the courses after acceptance

Were you asked any speech related questions? For example, what is the difference between speech, communication, and language?
