AutoCAD: How to Scale an Image for Digitizing or Reference! - 2 Minute Tuesday
Hey Everybody,
Brandon here, back with a new 2 minute tuesday video! In todays video I go over a common question I get. How to Insert and image in autocad and then scale it based on a dimension or distance between two points.
This can be useful in so many situations, including bringing in images or pdfs of old drawings, details or pictures. As well and is you wanted to bring in an image as a drawing reference to trace off of or digitize, this tip will allow you to insert it and then accurately scale the image so the measurements will be correct.
check out my go to fix for the issue in the video and make sure you let me know how it works for you!
Cheers and thanks for watching

Thanks for watching! Don't forget to leave a comment and let me know what you'd like to see in an upcoming video?!
Thank you so much for this video! I've watched a lot of tutorials about this topic, but none of them helped me the way yours did!
Thank you, Brandon. Is there a way of scale an image or a pdf horizontally and vertically separately? I've searched without luck. Thanks again.
your video are very useful please attached the related drawing for our practice thanks
This was very helpful and thank you.❤
This was very helpful, thank you. I just purchased your templates, I'll check those out right now! Do you offer one on one tutorials? I have a couple very specific things I need to learn how to do in 2016LT and I am having difficulty figuring it out.
Hi Jake,
Thank you for picking my templates and for the comment! I don't normally offer one on one but do make some exceptions, I don't have a lot of spare time anymore (have a 1 year old son that takes up a lot) but am definitely open to work as a CAD trainer when time permits. If you'd like we can discuss how I could help you out over email: brandon@cadintentions.com just let me know.
Cheers!
Brandon
what we can do where the inserted file has a different scaled x-axis (may be logarithm) and different scaled y-axis
Thank you pal
Cheers!
Glad I could help and thank you for watching
How to download that image
Tysm this helped a lot 🫶🏻
ARE THERE SOME COMMAND TO DIGITALIZE FAST?
"Without moving the mouse, we will look at our display at the bottom." How do you get to the display at the bottom? Tab? Enter?
