Strange Academy is an awesome read. And I'm disappointed that not many readers are onto it. Ramos and Young are great with the teen-age tone and characterisation (as expected) but also with balancing light fun and dark intent. It's well-paced and engaging from cover to cover.
I hope they stay on the title for a while and that other books start featuring the strange academy kids in their titles. Also i think this some of Ramos' best work, it's really good
Also Coat's Cap run is amazing. It's actually shocking how people hate it. I'm like have you ever read Captain America before? Well this is the book you should love then, we see how Steve is taken what happened in Secret Emprye, we see what happens with Hydra Cap, we see mutants, spies, and ect. Honestly I don't get why more youtubers aren't covering that book.
Thankfully I'm already reading or plan to read most of this very soon. I was a little surprised to see Power Pack on there tho, that was blindside. Need to get on GotG and Black Cat on MU asap
I've not read black cat but after seeing it's in your list and hearing you mention it a few times. I'm more interested for sure. I'm not sure where to start with black cat. Since 1, 2 and 3 were technically KiB crossover comics. So I imagine starting at #4 would be the best?
My current Must reads. X Men, Way of X, Sword, venom (ending) and I think that's it. I enjoy Hellions I haven't missed a issue but I never feel like I HAVE to read it. Can't believe DC doesn't have one half decent comic ATM
I'm reading everything on this list right now except Captain America and Power Pack. And outside of the X-books, Zdarsky's Daredevil is the best thing going, imo. It's just been consistently good right from the rip. Seriously,if you ain't reading DD,ya missing out. It's my favorite run since Brubaker's.
I love this list. I definitely want to read Spider's Shadow and Black Cat. I would also add Black Widow, Runaways, Captain Marvel, and Marauders. They're consistently great books with amazing art and telling some really great stories right now.
I haven’t been enjoying s.w.o.r.d. As Musca as everyone else does. I am new to marvel so maybe I am missing something that long term readers are getting.
@@rell127 I get that I ain’t knocking it I just ain’t enjoying it when everybody else is. Maybe i should reread it now that it is more than a few issues in. Seems they trying to give to much too soon. Second issue being part of king in black didn’t help.
@@ryangriffiths5179 I don't think you are, just give it another issue before jumping back in. I get it Al Edwing writing is more for fans of characters for, long time readership like myself. I would suggest watch Dopespill's videos on it then see if you like it when they do it.
@@rell127 thanks. Like I said I felt like I was missing out on something going in and seeing how it was issue 1 I shouldn’t have been. I recognized that lots of people loved it so I knew I missed something. Marvel could have done a recap in issue one to catch someone picking up the series. I get issue two on maybe not recapping but an issue one is a starting point.
@@rell127 I will watch dopespills videos that may help - again I want to like it I just feel like I am missing something that is needed for me to do so And thank you Jeremy for the recommendation. It’s nice that instead of someone internet spazzing cause I didn’t like what they did, you actually recommended a way that that I could learn to enjoy it. I will let you know after I watch the videos and reread if it changed my opinion. 🤞🏻
I am not reading every Marvel comic but here are my top titles: 1. Amazing Spider-man 2. X-men 3. Immortal Hulk 4. SWORD 5. Hellions I should have learned my lesson when I brought Absolute Carnage. I was disappointed because of the hype; the story is not bad but its not really worth buying for me. But I still check out King in Black and its still a meh story. Although I am intrigued with Ewing/Ram V and Hitch creative team. Maybe if marvel reduces permanently the number of x-titles I will have the budget for the new Venom.
Coates’ Black Panther is what got me back into comics in 2016. Now I have over 20 books on my pull list and frequent channels like CBH. Definitely been thankful for Coates’ era of Marvel.
3 books I would ad for the X-meb line would be Generation X, yea we New Mutants tackle some younger mutants like Gabby, but we aren't see the teenage mutants are on Krokoa what it's like for them and how they are seeing heroes and villians on teams. Exiles this is a no Brainer for me yea Excalibur deals with some alternative universes but they aren't dealing with the multi-verse as in what is every krokoa is doing. We need a mutant book with mutants who refuse to go to Krakoa and they just want to save mutants and don't want a big target on their backs.
Iron Man, Black Widow, Captain Marvel all belong on the list I think. I like Spencer’s Spider-Man, but I’m sure it will read better in trade. Cates Thor is fine, it’s a little too explosive at times, he needs to pair it down as seems to add a lot of stuff to this arcs.
Seriously? You are happy with the way Hickman's ending his xmen run? THIS is what you were hoping since House of X? Some plot advancement in two years? Boy, your bar is low
It was some really cool plot advancement... If I say so myself. If you are hooked on the krakoa era it gives just enought morsels about the big picture to chew until the big payoffs (i.g. Inferno)
@@andrescardenas2737 Fair enough. I think Marvel dragged Hickman's plot points for way too long. I had to read House of X again just to remember them. Also, just by the fact that in the Inferno marketing ad they specify that "THE BIGGEST MYSTERIES OF JONATHAN HICKMAN'S X-MEN ERA BURN AWAY THIS FALL", that shows me that sales have gone a little downhill and they are trying to get fans back.
I just started getting back into comics after following comictube for like 6 years. These marvel stories truly are some of the greats.

I always forget about this series, but yes, it definitely is deserving of a mention.
Venom and Thor hands down should be on this list.
Thor IS on the list
Black widow and Captain Marvel have been really good

After a couple of horrible years it looks like Marvel is getting back into the swing of making some excellent comic books

There's a previous Black Cat series that's basically the same run which has graphic novels out, start there
Doesn't Hickman have one more X-Men issue coming this Wednesday? The finale isn't out yet.
Yes but it's hell fire gala so I'm not too excited
@@stelmaria-mx eh, hellfire gala has been great so far. I’m excited
What are your thoughts on the Beta Ray Bill mini by Daniel Warren Johnson? Definitely one of my favorites this year!

Nightwing by Tom Taylor, man!
Swamp Thing, Mister Miracle, Harley Quinn, Rorschach, Strange Adventures, Batman/Catwoman, Flash, Justice League, Green Lantern, Catwoman, Wonder Girl.
Really want you to do a review on Dark Age
It's only two issues in, but I am loving Busiek's new The Marvels series. And I absolutely loved The Union by Grist.

There were three issues of Black Panther this year, not two.
Nick Spencer's run has been going on for awhile now. I enjoyed it but got a bit tired of being strung around with Kindred.
I haven’t been enjoying s.w.o.r.d. As Musca as everyone else does. I am new to marvel so maybe I am missing something that long term readers are getting.

i worry who the artist for Eternals will be when Ribic needs a break. A bad artist could really hurt the series
I agree
X-factor? Thats surprising i feel like you weren’t a big fan in any of your reviews
Iron man has been surprisingly good as well. We need Cantwell on a Fantastic four book ASAP!!!
I loved Cantwell’s Fantastic Four Road Trip one shot.
I never understood why people thought the Thing was so hideous until this issue
The H in Maher is silent. It's just "Mar."
Nice
ASM is better than many of the books listed here.
Rest of the list is great
I never heard of one of those comments those are far from the best comics of 2021

They wrapped it up though. One less loose end
