    WorldStar! You were looking for the word worldstar 😂 thanks for the video and the heads up. I’ve been looking and applying to company after company with no luck for months. I think I’m gonna have to bite the bullet and just deal with this company Hopefully I have a at least a decent experience. Stay safe out there!

    I didn’t go home for two months when left for orientation but I was just happy to be getting into trucking. They asked me if I wanted to go home for thanksgiving and I said no I just wanted to keep trucking and getting experience. I planned on staying there for a year but the junky trailers were too much I thought I just had bad luck but a while I realized I was putting my cdl in jeopardy working there. Luckily it was middle of COVID trucking boom and I was able to get hired at another company after three months with western. I think nowadays you probably need at least six months if not twelve to get hired at another company. I think so what are you got to keep in mind it western is they are playing a numbers game and you are just a number they know they’re going to make a certain amount of money and there’s going to be a certain amount of people that get into accidents that cost money, so I think they just push every single driver as hard as they can, I think what you have to do as a driver for Western is not let yourself get pressured and just focus on what you’re doing and take the time to do it right so that when the time comes you can go work somewhere else

    You’re 100% spot on. I too did my orientation in Richmond and was out the next day after orientation was over, trainer said he had called 3 other people before me and none would answer their phones probably cause they had a hangover from the night before lol. My first month was tuff cause my recruiter signed me up for OTR and I was going back and forth with my DM trying to get home and see the kids. After a month or so I asked to be switched to regional and since then I been home every week and on holidays. But yes you’re right everyone’s case is different.

    Some honest info. Your training or lack of, explains some of the things I see with Western Express drivers. I've seem more than one tear up their truck at a truck stop. I've had a solo driver ask me how to slide his tandems at a shipper.
    But if you don't have a clean record you might have to start at a company like Western Express. Drive safe, learn what you can, and then move to a better company in a year or so.

For everybody that’s coming to WE, that is a get your feet wet, foot in the trucking world company. Get what you need. And get on. It’s levels to the trucking world. Gotta crawl before you walk. Literally will tell you in orientation “this is a get your experience company”. They already know you leaving right after.

    I'm not in trade and figured top bunk was only slept in when truck was idle and both teammates needed rest. Beyond the discomfort you described being in top bunk of moving truck, it seems like a death trap in event of rollover, low bridge impact, etc. Figured in a team driving almost always moving situation like you described, each team mate would put their own sheets on bottom bunk when it was their turn to rest.

    • @time2chill121
      @time2chill121 7 місяців тому +1

      So you'd rather sleep on the bunk the other sweaty driver is on instead...Got it thanks for your opinion.
      I did team for 2 years. Always slept up top. Never had an issue because me and the other guy agreed to pull over if we even started getting sleepy.

    I just graduated with my CDL with H, T, and N endorsements. Sysco and Western Express interested. What's the transmissions being used for orientation testing? 13, 10, 6, Auto? Also, I was told by the recruiter that after my training, I could bring my dogs. Do you know what their actual pet policy is? Thanks, great videos. Subbed. (I absolutely hate the idea of driver facing cameras)

    Looking like W.E is my "go to" 22yrs CDL-B & working while going to school for my A. I had a front end blowout in a CMV long story short truck hit the ditch & rolled on its side & was towed away. Got a tick for Loss of Control company I worked for let me go. I hired an attorney ticket was dismissed for no crash report. So here I am talking with carriers & no 1 wants me 48yrs old this my 1st accident.
    Hope to see you around

      It's not the best company, but I like to run and they keep me busy. If you can make it through the nonsense at orientation, it's ok while you get yourself sorted out. The only people who seem to have problems here are those who don't want to really work...

    I’ve been trucking for a little over three years now I actually started out at Western doing flatbed make a long story short. I’ll say this much the first year is the toughest. You don’t know shit it’s basically just one crisis to another the second year to get a little bit more familiar a little more comfortable but there’s still a lot of shit you don’t know if you make it to the third year then you probably have a career as a trucker if you make it that far

      im almost done with 4th winter now, i think at some point once u know most of the trucking stuff and youlll never know it all because theres always a new place to go or something different but u gotta learn yourself to what makes u as trucker be your best as far as rest and meals and stress management , its like i like to go hard but i know if i got hard too many days in a row ill burn out so i try to go easy after 2 days going hard kinda like a 2days hard 1 day easy routine but u know truckin it rarely goes how u want @@GoodGuyGlennPresents

      @highspeedsuicide yo 1st thing is your mind ain't right trying to get this paper. Let me walk you thru this since you are on the fence with your drug use. When you do cdl school they piss you. When you get hired with a trucking company they piss you. The better companies give you a hair follicle test which traces back further. Before you step in any direction stop doing drugs for 30 days then go ahead and after that don't do any drugs. If you're gonna get in this industry you gotta be clean 100% of the time until you leave it. This here ain't for people who don't understand the magnitude of handling a 80k lbs piece of equipment. Get your mind right cuz it's obviously not focused. Out of any question you could have asked you're obviously still using and dirty. Come in this industry with that dirty mindset your gonna be gon up out of it in the blink of an eye or worse kill yourself or someone else.
