WorldStar! You were looking for the word worldstar 😂 thanks for the video and the heads up. I’ve been looking and applying to company after company with no luck for months. I think I’m gonna have to bite the bullet and just deal with this company Hopefully I have a at least a decent experience. Stay safe out there!
Trying. Honestly, most of these companies are the same. Low pay. You are just a number to them. But the people you talk to that complain are just trying to bring you down with them... Good luck and thanks for watching
Glenn I love you brother! Be safe out there. I started with Swift in October of 2011. I drive local now in Little Rock, Arkansas. Keep trucking brother!
I didn’t go home for two months when left for orientation but I was just happy to be getting into trucking. They asked me if I wanted to go home for thanksgiving and I said no I just wanted to keep trucking and getting experience. I planned on staying there for a year but the junky trailers were too much I thought I just had bad luck but a while I realized I was putting my cdl in jeopardy working there. Luckily it was middle of COVID trucking boom and I was able to get hired at another company after three months with western. I think nowadays you probably need at least six months if not twelve to get hired at another company. I think so what are you got to keep in mind it western is they are playing a numbers game and you are just a number they know they’re going to make a certain amount of money and there’s going to be a certain amount of people that get into accidents that cost money, so I think they just push every single driver as hard as they can, I think what you have to do as a driver for Western is not let yourself get pressured and just focus on what you’re doing and take the time to do it right so that when the time comes you can go work somewhere else
everyone dont have the luxury of choice some people gotta carry the weight sometimes thats life, i still grind it out but im top driver and love it and would be sad without truckin , maybe it wasnt for u dont worry youll find what ur looking for @@Leo-bp5ns
Nope, you can still get in lots of companies with only three months experience, turnover is still crazy, drivers still change jobs like underwear because trucking companies suck
You’re 100% spot on. I too did my orientation in Richmond and was out the next day after orientation was over, trainer said he had called 3 other people before me and none would answer their phones probably cause they had a hangover from the night before lol. My first month was tuff cause my recruiter signed me up for OTR and I was going back and forth with my DM trying to get home and see the kids. After a month or so I asked to be switched to regional and since then I been home every week and on holidays. But yes you’re right everyone’s case is different.

Some honest info. Your training or lack of, explains some of the things I see with Western Express drivers. I've seem more than one tear up their truck at a truck stop. I've had a solo driver ask me how to slide his tandems at a shipper. But if you don't have a clean record you might have to start at a company like Western Express. Drive safe, learn what you can, and then move to a better company in a year or so.

I'm not in trade and figured top bunk was only slept in when truck was idle and both teammates needed rest. Beyond the discomfort you described being in top bunk of moving truck, it seems like a death trap in event of rollover, low bridge impact, etc. Figured in a team driving almost always moving situation like you described, each team mate would put their own sheets on bottom bunk when it was their turn to rest.
So you'd rather sleep on the bunk the other sweaty driver is on instead...Got it thanks for your opinion. I did team for 2 years. Always slept up top. Never had an issue because me and the other guy agreed to pull over if we even started getting sleepy.
