I remember I did a trial of Apple Music in 2016 just so I could listen to Coloring Book. The Big Day may have been mid but I have hope he will make a decent comeback. Great video Max!
How was Chance almost cancelled for a album that had actually a few good songs and a couple of greats---but other rappers who are trash outside of singles continue to reign supreme in rap? How? Is every song on Futures album amazing?
Love the way you left the question open-ended. Thanks for some some great information, there's so much I forgot about or hadn't heard! I really liked his music around Govball 2018 plus or minus a year.
Idk if Chance can but I want him to. Acid Rap and Coloring Book are some of my favorite Rap albums ever I would love another great project from him. I also think Chance needs to be given his flowers regarding how much he paved the way for the music industry going forward. He showed literally everyone else in music the model for making money in the era of streaming. Before him, people were worried about how the industry could continue w/ people no longer buying physical copies of albums. Chance was really the first mainstream artist to promote giving away music essentially for free online & build an audience that was so engaged that they were willing to pay more money for merch and live concerts. We take it for granted now but Chance’s influence goes far beyond Hip Hop. He created a model for making money off of music that literally everyone else in music is following to this day.
I think taking long gaps in music only works if you come back with quality material. Listeners are more forgiving to mid or disappointing projects from artists who release frequently (e.g. Honestly, Nevermind barely made a dent in Drake's career)
chance has made his money and doesnt need to work another day in his life if he chooses too, obviously his commercial success isnt great as of recent years but he is still a large name and uses it in other ways than just music realeases
Favorite songs off the album are “5 year plan” and “sun come down”. Although as you said, the features do seem random and don’t necessarily compliment his work on this project.
the first time hearing chance was those four singles before the big day. wala cam the only forgetful one but the others are great (work out) my favourite). i think he made another two to follow up to them.
tbh i think alot of people are stuck on old chance, alot of people experiment and make below average albums and people still hold them to a high standard, chance is still great he just rushed it and it was mid
I mean I agree that he’s held to a higher standard than he should be but he’s the one that put release date on it and had three years to put it together lmao
honestly I always hated his voice, never liked his songs and imo he could never top that Pablo verse in any shape or form (I do love Ultralight Beam tho). I was kinda happy when he flopped so hard in 2019 tbh hahaha, I'm not looking forward to anything w this man's name in it, not a feature nor a single nor an album, I never was :)
I don’t understand why people hate the album so much? I actually like it…. It’s a sunny day, road trip vibe type of album
its garbage
Legend 🥰😊

rewatching videos from that era for the vid was crazy. seriously some of the biggest potential in the industry. appreciate it!

love these videos 🙌 underrated
appreciate you!
Chance wasn't on Spotify for a few years which hurt his streaming numbers more than an off album
all of chance’s mixtapes were on streaming before the big day came out?
@@maxdumpsterdive my balls may explode perchanse????
{;
love these short vids keep it up
appreciate it!!
I met Kanye West, I failed

agree. that last verse on five year plan is so rough tho haha
What's the background music name?
the first time hearing chance was those four singles before the big day. wala cam the only forgetful one but the others are great (work out) my favourite). i think he made another two to follow up to them.
Cool
What is the background song you have playing?
lost by chance 👍
I think the album was very good. Never deserved the hate it received
Im sure Chance has it in him to make an imoressive comeback , but he could also create another big day album.
It could go either way
totally agree. looking forward to the release either way!
To say "all in all it isnt the worst feature ever released" is not a whole lot better than saying it is
Nice video
Dude just had sold out shows, he is doing just fine.
playing zero songs from this album lmao
@@maxdumpsterdive And? my point is he didn't destroy his career. Maybe that specific album was a flop but career? no.
tbh i think alot of people are stuck on old chance, alot of people experiment and make below average albums and people still hold them to a high standard, chance is still great he just rushed it and it was mid
if he wouldve had time and actually put it together and made it about sum else then it wouldve been fine
I mean I agree that he’s held to a higher standard than he should be but he’s the one that put release date on it and had three years to put it together lmao
@@maxdumpsterdivei mean true but the skill is undeniable especially with his recent drops plus he only put it together in 4 months cause his wedding

def an acquired taste!
@@maxdumpsterdive definitely
Unnecessary hatred smh
That's how I feel about Anderson Paak. Fire rapper, but I can't stand the voice.
