Walts Worm, Beginners Fly Tying Series, Episode 1, Holsingers Fly Shop

Welcome to the first episode of our "Beginners Fly Tying Series" from holsingersflysh.... This fly is the Walts Worm, named after Walt Young the inventor. One of the simplest flies to tie and when fished right will catch tons of fish. Fish this fly in streams with with lots of scuds and crane fly. Sometimes I use the dubbing loop but it makes a very rough larvae so I also just make a dubbing noodle by spinning the fur on waxed thread, then after I wind the dubbing to the head I counter wrap a piece of fine gold wire through, about 1/8" apart, and whip it off.
