One of the reasons people like you more and more is because you come off as both a professional and a guy just like us - not pretending to know everything - and yet your advice is excellent, sometimes novel to me. Good work, bro.
If you can’t get followers to commit try smaller hooks or even removing a hook. Removing a hook might sound crazy but I’d rather get bites and have a higher chance of of losing fish than not hook them in the first place.
I got a follower to bite the smae bait that it was following and it was only about 2 feet behind it so i reel it in and cast right pass him started reeling it back to him and he hit it faster then i could blink so i think you can still get a follower on the same bait depending on the bass reaction to the bait
I've never tried just letting the bait fall straight down to bottom before. I'll have to give it a try. If I'm fishing big swimbaits I always have another rod ready to go with a weightless or lightly weighted soft plastic like a smaller soft swimbait, sencos, bellows gills, ext ..
I had a giant Muskie follow for like 30 yards back in June. I was up on a pier so I couldn’t figure 8 him. The water was gin clear, so I could see him coming from a mile away. I tried everything to get him to eat the bait, he just wouldn’t do it. It’s so frustrating to watch them swim off. 🤦♂️
Sometimes other bass will see another fish following your bait . Then they will strike your bait . Trying to be the first to eat the bait. Another reason to let your bait drop all the way to the bottom.
I’ll definitely be giving these tricks a try ! The only thing more frustrating than a Follower is a MaGoo !! Those bass that blow up on a topwater and completely miss the bait . Hurts every time

I prefer this channel over the other one. Thanks for this content man
I hate any fish that follows. Trout do it too. But what I hate more is when I get on a spot and fish are EVERYWHERE in clear water.

You are a natural teacher. Thanks for sharing your hard earned knowledge.
If I had a dollar for every follower I had on a glide bait I still wouldn’t be rich but i tell you what i sure would have a lot more fishing gear.
