Very well done I have watched a lot of Tutorials and yours are by far the best ones. It was very detailed but not overwhelming, to the point, relatable, very easy to follow and understand. Great Job!
For ten years I have been trying to enter this field, I fail every time because of the difficulty of explaining from others, but Professor Tom's videos broke all barriers, I felt that it was a message from the professor's heart to our brain. I felt I joined to my real family. .
I looked around youtube for tutorial help about MS Project. I watched several tutorials by others for about a minute or two (yawners). Then I stumbled upon Tom Stephenson. What a difference! Clear and concise! The shade has faded from my eyes! A great teacher!
Fantastic explanation, I'm currently studying MS for IT with IT Management concentration and the current course is in MS project, I found your tutorials are very informative, thanks
Mr.Tom, I really appreciate your efforts ,very rich information and advises in each video in spite of limit time of each video..Thank you so much. Greetings from IRAQ. Civil consultant engineer- Mostafa Fakhry.
clean and clear presentation on ppm helpful a lot for students and starters even for job holders thanks a lot try to give a series on estimation and costing
Loving the content Tom, thank you. I have been trying to update the calander and add public holidays as you have outlined but I cannot. Could this be because MS Project is linked to PWA?
At 27.07 the first two activities are NOT critical. They have a float of a few days. They can start or finish much later but it will not affect the end date.
Hi Tom, you have the best MS Project tutorials on UA-cam. Thank you! I am a project manager and have recommended your tutorials to my project team. Is there a way we can download your project plan file with all the tasks so that we can follow your tutorials on our local MS Project instance?
Dear Mr. Stephson, I work in Air Traffic Control. We have shifts. They go like this. Day 1 (Afternoon), Day 2(Morning, Night), Day 3 (Off), Day 4 (Off), Day 5 (Morning, the process of D1) repeats. How can I make this calendar and schedule some tasks in it?
When I get a chance I will try some more complex calendars. It does get a little complicated especially when you have a variety of work hours on different days.
@@TomStephensontraining thanks please. I have also sent you a detailed email about my query. Once comfortable, please have a look at it. I'll be highly grateful.
Go to change working time and go to default if you want all Saturdays working days. Then click the details box and select Saturday and non working click okay
It helps but depends whether it is the software being used. Overall it is more about your management and relationships that gets you to a successful place. Its a bit more complicated than I can explain just here though.
Hi, I still get mixed up when i have a duration of 1 day and the dates span over two dates rather than same day. is there a way around that please? And thank you for your informative channel!! well done
Hi Mark, If it happens all the time, could be a calendar issue. If it is because you have something that takes 2hrs (Finish to Start linked to a successor) and then something that is 1day it will push 2 hours to the next day. You can consider either putting the second item as 6 hrs to complete on the same day or a 6 hr lag (8hr day calendar) to push the item to take up the whole next day. Usually you run into that problem when you mix hours and days, but can be fine tuned. Hmm maybe I should do a video on this. Thanks Mark!
This is a gold mine for project management professionals. Thanks a ton sir for teaching us this for free.

It’s certainly possible often add ons and controls do funny things.

What should we do when skilled workers, unskilled, lag ,equipment days are added in question
You could extend the duration also if someone comes and leaves you can split the task.
Thanks sir! Please, how do I make Saturday a working day?
Go to change working time and go to default if you want all Saturdays working days. Then click the details box and select Saturday and non working click okay
Does being an expect with Ms project put you at the right position of a project manager??
It helps but depends whether it is the software being used. Overall it is more about your management and relationships that gets you to a successful place. Its a bit more complicated than I can explain just here though.

if the dependent type of a predecessor is a start-start, then the successor will be open ending, what will happen in this situation?
You can connect it to a successor
