OMG I am from Thane too!! Thank you Shatakshi for bringing such amazing professionals within our reach with such heartfelt realtime conversations. It's so amazing to know that people at the top also belong to the same humble places and origins. Have walked through the same lanes of Podar college and Matunga in Mumbai. Watching this while I am now living in the heart of Boston city, working within the Biotech hotspot around the Kendall/ MIT square of Cambridge. Please keep bringing such insightful conversations to our exposure! Thank you!

There is something fundamentally wrong about the way Indian students and their parents glamorize high paying jobs ("packages"). Count the number of UA-cam videos that say "How to get a Rs 1 cr package" or "Want a high paying job." A person's worth is determined in India by his riches. I live in the USA (passed from IIT) and most Americans don't have this mentality. They have bigger goals in life than to work for a FMCG and make a boatload of money. Ask Jeff Bezos, Elon Musk, or even Mukesh Ambani what their goals were. They will say things like "grow their company" or "build new products", but not "make more money." They are also not eager to jump ship at the first opportunity. Bezos never sold his Amazon shares and Musk didn't either (until he sold some Tesla stock to buy Twitter). Therefore, these guys are the richest people in the world. Our greedy IIM grads will do well in life, but will never become Bezos or Musk because they don't have the staying power or risk appetite of Bezos or Musk.

That's why the Indian startup boom didn't see any builders like Elon, Jeff, Mark, Steve or Bill gates. All we are seeing is just a bunch of businessmen trying to make dhandha, nothing wrong in that but that's not building. And we indians lack in this sphere

ALL Business schools are started to make money
If you are too naive to understand that nothing can make you see the light.
Almost all people who go to business schools go there to make money... nothing wrong with that but accept this reality.
If tomorrow Civil work starts paying 10 times the salary of a MBA........MOST will quickly switch over to Civil.
There is no such thing as work life balance when companies are paying you through the nose.
Crazy deadlines are set and the consultants are forced to follow these ridiculous timelines.
Maybe after many years of experience under he belt a consultant may be in a position to choose projects with 'sensible' timelines...but by that time the new batch of fresh recruits are more than willing to take up 70+ weekly work from these former overworked consultants.
Let's be real and at least have the balls to speak the truth.

Hi Shatakshi, I have been following your KTs here on UA-cam, digging deep into consulting, and trying to reach out to you for real guidance. As you know in India there are a lot of talented candidates who don't get the opportunity to go to IIM/IIT/Abroad for their studies but they deserve to get a chance in MBBs and other consulting firms. I have been meaning to ask you if there is really a way for us to get into the top consulting firm by bringing knowledge, enthusiasm, and skills to the table and getting hired on the basis of the same? Also, will you hire us in your company? I really need you to guide me as you are the last hope for my dilemma! suggest a way and skills we need to upgrade.
