Your absolutely right. I’ve owned the Simagic Alpha, Logitech G Pro, and now the Asetek Invicta. I prefer the Logitech over the Simagic FFB. Trueforce is a game changer in IRacing and ACC.
@@buddy5088 What are the key differences? I've only just bought the G Pro but straight after trying it, I'm thinking I need a proper setup but also enjoy playing on console.
The thing that sold me on this is that you plug it in and it just works. Logitech is pre-mapped for everything. It's a great value. I was already sold on another brand and I am not disappointed that I got the G Pro. Setup and mapping all the buttons was something I was worried about. The pedals are great too.
Just some food for thought, Have a second sim for my grandkids that I started on. It is a G920. I went with Logitech Pro system with the old H Shifter on logitech adapter. The reason I went this route is if something goes down on my main rig I can mix and match parts till I get something repaired or buy new. (Hopefully not new but....). Seemed to make sense to me. CHEERS!
@@solefreak2 Exactly. When you compare this logitech to it's actual competitor, the modern DD extreme that has trueforce and 15nm, it's clearly very similar offerings with the choice being is four more nm and the better accessory eco system worth the higher price of the fanatec. The older original DD release is out classed completely by these two new offerings, it's weaker and less sophisticated. Comparing this to the DD pro is just 🤷♂🤷♂...the logitech with double the nm and trueforce feedback is way better, no one really needed to be told that. lol
@@CasvalSVER its not 4 more nm.. the Logitech is 1nm sustained based on the 10nm alpha mini peaking as high as 14 - 15 nm its safe to say the g pro also hits a similar peak nm so its actually far closer to the DD extremes 15nm than it initially looks a quite a bit stronger than the r12
This wheel has been a pleasant surprise. It feels absolutely phenomenal in iRacing and natively supports the 360hz readout. And Truforce (when not set too high) adds a ton to the immersion and detail.
100% agree .. i have g920 with h-pattern shifter, and looking for a decent upgrade the new logitech set is a non-starter for me without that h-pattern shifter.
I have had this wheel base for just over a year now and love it for iRacing doing stockcar racing as trueforce does belp a lot in feeling when you car is about to spin out its helped me to save alot of my own mistakes.
Logitech needs to fix tryeforce on their Pro wheel for GT7... (TF was great before the update of GT7) And yeah want a H shifter now... I got all their other goodies....
You completely missed the point of the round wheel that is it’s specifically for rally as you can also remove the redundant paddle shifters from the hub
Looks fantastic. It’s a shame the price is £1200 for the wheel and pedals. I bought the T598 and TLCM pedals for £600. Maybe I will Add the hyper-car wheel in a year or two, that’s £1000.
It may be different for various markets, but my old Fanatec DD Pro (8nm, Loadcell pedal) landed for almost the same price as my new Logitech DD Pro. The Logi had free shipping. When you consider that the Fanatec wheels, in particular. require you to upgrade to the new QR system - that's if you want a metal (not plastic) QR), then the Logi comes out damn near in terms of price. But as Random said, I'd say the biggest 'feature' of the wheel is the Trueforce. Dialled-in correctly it is superb.
What keeps me out of this ecosystem is that it seems to be the case that Logitech has no post-warranty repair service for a defective device, nor even spare parts for sale.
hmmm thats pretty bad although im not to worried about the wheel base as that thing will probably last for a decade if it dont have any immediate production faults.. things like the pedals, wheel, shifter etc could be more of an issue as they are liable to ware over time
I've raced on a Gpro since launch and it;s still perfect including the wheel .I've never used the clutch paddles but don't want to lose them in case I break a leg and need a hand controlled throttle or brake .The extra hub is a very interesting idea tho ,does Trueforce still work the same with your non Logitech wheels?
yeah have a gt neo on mine.. had it in my head that true force had effects in the wheel but nope its all in the base.. even with a 100 mm spacer true force still works fine
I just got rid of mine for a Simagic alpha gt Neo and p1000. I am much happier now that I switched to PC. I feel like the logi system was great but the buttons were severely lacking. The gt Neo in comparison not only lights up but has to many different buttons I don’t know how to use all of them.
@ I played a lot of LMU on PC so hard to say because LMU didn’t have trueforce but the alpha 15nm is notably stronger than the 11 in the g pro for sure
@@Robstunner I get the stronger bit but that doesn't mean it has better force feedback, i.e. feeling the minute details. Also fine the 11nm being too powerful for me, to the point I'm running the wheel around 9.5nm which is plenty on AC using a PC.
Thumb thus up so people get informed before new purchases! Not-so-fun fact: The new g pro ebrake DOESNT work when plugged into the back of the wheelbase. You'd think a Logitech device would be compatible with the proprietary USB hub in the back of the wheelbase. Another couple gripes that I have with the wheel additions: The factory wheel that is included has two analog paddles underneath the digital paddle shifters. Those can be used for launch control like in F1 (to set a clutch bite point). Why is that important? Well, the NEW RS F1 style wheel only goes on the NEW hub which DOESNT have those... (Ironic as you can't put the F1 styled wheel on the OEM Hub that DOES have the analog paddles). WTF LOGITECH What a stupid oversight. It should be the other way around... Or at least one should be able to use the grip part (F1 shaped wheel) to be installed/mounted onto the factory provided wheel hub somehow so that you get the F1 style analog paddles for launch control. The new wheel hub (which you can install the two new wheel designs on.. the F1 RS style one and the Round one) at least give you 2 extra buttons since they did away with the 2 analog paddles below the paddle shifters. This all makes me wonder if and when they ever release a new H pattern shifter, if it will even plug into the back of the wheel base or not.... I'm not a fan of all this extra cable management. One of the reasons I went with Logitech was to keep all my other peripherals in the same software ecosystem as well as less cabling for my PC. Oh well... Early adopter problems...
