@@SM-rz9du I don't know much about hand gliding but I assume it's because they were going too quick and would have hit the mountain at very high speeds, likely injuring both of them. Plus, I'd assume you want to land on flat ground, not upslope.

That was almost superhuman. Most people could not have hung on that long it doesn't matter that they knew they would die if they could not. They would simply not have had the strength.
The man hanging on was a tourist who had never been in a hang glider. The pilot could not set the aircraft down quickly for two reasons: the 200 lb man hanging onto the control bar made maneuvering difficult, and mountain updrafts. The blame lies with the pilot and the ground crew.
Kitten rescue...been there done that. A coworker and I saw this kitten along a 3 lane highway and she pulled over while I hopped out into traffic and tried to catch it. It ran into traffic and I thought it was a goner once a semi came by but it made it. A policeman came along and ordered me out of traffic and he scooped it up.

Wow, driving around in a tornado & not being hooked to the hang glider.Gotta love the truly stupid. The lightning strikes were awesome. Not sure it’s a smartest thing to do driving around in a storm.
Not to mention after they realize he is not strapped in, his partner steers the bloody glider over the cliff instead of just turning it around and landing either where the grass was to the left of them, or behind them where they took off essentially. Why go over a cliff to increase the distance your partner now has to fall by a factor of 10? To the lack of making sure your partner is buckled in, and then doing that action when something goes wrong, it doesn't surprise me when they occur with the same people...
The Journey maybe the guy didn’t know how to turn around or was instructed not to and if he did his partner might of lost grip cuz steering a hanglider is not easy I’m pretty sure and you never now what they could of been thinking maybe they were under a lot of pressure and couldn’t think properly. Honestly if that guy had just a bit less grip strength he would have fallen, and the instructors attempts to grab him seemed to make that guy's grips far less secure. Seriously there were times when the instructor was pushing and then taking his hand off, and then pushing the guys hand to the side with his when the guy only really had that one grip for a good portion of the trip. Again if you watch at 1:55 I would personally have stayed on that path, losing altitude as fast as I could so you can then slow for the rest when you are not that far above the ground so if he looses his grip, there is still a fair chance he can make it out with just some bruises, maybe a broken arm, etc, or you get to that long clear patch of grass, which isn't that much shorter than the runway he used at the end really...
