It's 2024 and I'm listening to this remembering when I first got the cd back when it came out. I've always wanted to see them live and I hear they are touring this year but overseas. Bummer. They haven't toured in years. Gosh Dave is 67 now!! Unbelievable!!
_...and I was thinking how the world should have cried on the day Jack Kirby died..._ Best track off _God Says No_ which by the way is a great fucking album.
Hell yes- best with headphones trippin chillin at home, best live outrageous transcendent energy!! Fucking love them- and also, I was reading the John Carter on Mars books, I could hear their cosmic soundtrack snaking through the words. So underrated as a mind blowing
First heard this on Spotify, listened to it a dozen times. I thought "This would be so good live." Seems like I was right. This is a near perfect rock song.
Wakin' up, I watch another sun go down Another day spent underground In my world of pills And I was thinkin' how the world should have cried On the day Jack Kirby died I wonder if I'm ill I'll never trust myself again But I don't care Just set that plastic soul on fire And watch it melt Life is good, a rocket sled utopia A self imposed myopia You gotta love this pace Life is fast, a million winners everyday You tell me, is this work or play I'm never really sure I'll never trust myself again But I don't care Well just set that plastic soul on fire And watch it melt Well I'm alive, now you watch me go A tickle inside my brain Where it comes from I don't know But I'm laughin' in the flames It's just the look in your eyes I feel like I can fly And then sometimes I dig it so much, I could die I'll never make no mortal place 'Cause I don't care Just set that plastic world on fire And watch it melt Well I'm alive, now you watch me go A tickle inside my brain Where it comes from I don't know But I'm laughin' in the flames It's just the look in your eyes I feel like I can fly And then sometimes I dig it so much, I could die
First time i heard this song was when it came out on a crusty demons video when song was released, was an awesome edit with this song. Been blasting it ever since
@Chris Proost - amen, brother I've wept at the tragedy some of my favorites suffer in live performances. This is not one of them. Vocals and sound quality are excellent. So many good tunes from these guys, a shame Space Lord is the only one that seemed to get attention in the states. (please correct me if I'm wrong on this point)

Such an incredible singer, I guess Chris Cornell is the ultimate vocalist reference from that era, but Dave can is a real force of nature
Dave is right. The world SHOULD have cried on the day Jack Kirby died.

God says no is such an underrated album.

GSN is TOP NOTCH. Heads Explode can do that literally if you turn it up load enough!
No way. Stay clean and healthy Dave. I hope I get to see you and Magnet for many years to come.
Greatest Band in the World

First heard this on Spotify, listened to it a dozen times. I thought "This would be so good live." Seems like I was right.

Wakin' up, I watch another sun go down
Another day spent underground
In my world of pills
And I was thinkin' how the world should have cried
On the day Jack Kirby died
I wonder if I'm ill
I'll never trust myself again
But I don't care
Just set that plastic soul on fire
And watch it melt
Life is good, a rocket sled utopia
A self imposed myopia
You gotta love this pace
Life is fast, a million winners everyday
You tell me, is this work or play
I'm never really sure
I'll never trust myself again
But I don't care
Well just set that plastic soul on fire
And watch it melt
Well I'm alive, now you watch me go
A tickle inside my brain
Where it comes from I don't know
But I'm laughin' in the flames
It's just the look in your eyes
I feel like I can fly
And then sometimes I dig it so much, I could die
I'll never make no mortal place
'Cause I don't care
Just set that plastic world on fire
And watch it melt
Well I'm alive, now you watch me go
A tickle inside my brain
Where it comes from I don't know
But I'm laughin' in the flames
It's just the look in your eyes
I feel like I can fly
And then sometimes I dig it so much, I could die

What a trip that I found out Jim Baglino/ Deadguy/ ex Human Remains was playing bass for Monster Magnet. Which makes sense since both are from NJ.

No it doesn't what the fuck
Lol. As live performances go that was pretty on point tbh. It's never going to be album good or exact live but that was plenty close enough.
@Chris Proost - amen, brother
