Abby came at her she never just tried to make light of the situation and Kelly never came at her, Abby came at Kelly in a very aggressive way till Kelly couldn't move because her back was to the mirror then that's when Kelly hit her obviously feeling threatened and no other way to move (that self defense and she used reasonable force, I means if she would have picked up the mirror and hit abby over the head with it she would have been in the wrong but she simply used reasonable force). Honestly, all the mothers and Abby are nuts. (I don't know about clinically, but in terms of what's normal and constructive behavior, they're nuts.) I watch the show for the kids, because I find them so incredibly talented. I could watch them rehearsing and dancing forever. The moms... I wish I could skip those parts, but it's hard with having to stream them (the show isn't available in my country or on netflix :( ). So no, the conflicts and yelling are not what make it interesting.. it's the talent and hard work of those children! For me, I could go for eternity without having to listen to and/or watch adults screaming at each other in front of kids.
Yeah, but its the fighting that brought ratings to the show and why that seems to be the main focus lately. The first season was about the girls and their moms.They were adorable and even that young they were good. I, also tuned in to watch the girls dance. My problems with Abby is she thinks she's always right and she'll fight with just about anyone. When Abby shows up trouble follows. Kelly has wanted out of the show since Season 2 and the executive producers and Collin Street Production refused to allow them to leave, which is where all the bad blood comes from, if she left and took her daughters off the show, she would be in breach of contract and sue her for everything they owned. Same thing with Christi, Christi waited for the contract to expire. Kelly, Brooke and Paige were thrown off the show, so the producer broke the contract with her. Could she have sued them? Probably but she's wanted out far too long. The main issue for Kelly in the beginning was the long hours that these girls are put through. The final cut of each episode is 43 minutes but the filming of each episode is about 60 hours a week. She thought that was too much time and pressure for her daughters. Plus, the show, the executive producers and Abby Lee Dance Company also broke child labor laws; which is basically about the recent lawsuit filed by Paige (plus the physical and emotional abuse). That's the background for the fighting but it goes back even farther since Kelly was a former student.
B Sheppard Maddie and Mackenzie are home schooled and as far as I know other girls attend school. Chloe is an A student and very smart, she loves school and being able to socialize with her friends, which was why she didn't want to be home schooled. Brooke is also smart and gets straight A's. The other girls I don't know.
Eileen Guthrie regardless, 60 hours a week is way beyond too much for a kid to be doing anything. especially getting yelled at by that crazy abby lady...

I love Abby Lee BUT the minute things get just a little bit physical (purse hitting, hair pulling, ect) She goes into little cry baby mode and calls for help from security or the police. She says she can take it, She may be able to take all the talk but she can't take the walk. As I said before though, I love Abby Lee.

I feel like a show that follows the Hylands and Chloe Lukasiak (or any of the original gilrls + Kendall) after they leave Abby's studio would do really well. I think that Abby forgets how much the fans really love the girls. She's so absorbed in winning or making money or making a name for herself that she forgets that she is also molding children, affecting relationships, and that her actions have impact, for better or worse
Regardless of the many negative comments about Abby, what has to be said is that she has a very old school way of teaching. Her dancers are taught the upmost respect and in doing so, become very disciplined artists. Her way of teaching has been over shadowed due to political correctness, and is only found these days in country's such as Russia & China. I have to give credit to Abby for her success, and success of her dancers, because this is what it takes to train to be such a disciplined performer. I remember how my dance teachers were, and you cringe at how tough they were on us, the tears and pain,. But it's what made us the best in the game!
I watched last night with an open mind last night, but what they taped was not at all like Abby explained it. She was wrong and I hope the charges get dropped.
Abby said the story of what happened but didn’t mention the things that would make her look bad and ruin her reputation like telling Brooke to “grow the hell up” and doing all the things that she knows would piss Kelly off when she already wasn’t in the greatest mood during that competition/season. And it wasn’t just threatening to replace Brooke & Paige with Kalani, there were also many other terrible things that Abby did to her two kids that also contributed to the reason why she attacked her.

I feel so sorry for those kids=( To see all that violence during filming between their mamas and their dance teacher, its not healthy. Poor Maddie sounded like she was terrified after the fight with Kelly. Its also sad to hear not only Brooke and Paige aren’t there anymore but neither is Chloe. Maybe its better that way though because that means after the show, the drama can stop. They can lead normal stress free lives hopefully.

(i'm not trying to say her studio is not good.........they are amazing ) BUT HONESTLY there are more advanced studios with higher success rates for producing stars than abby with teachers that push their students and even yell. Abby went to the police 'cause a woman told her "Turn your phone off" and got a restraining order. She did the same thing with Cathy after she swung her purse against her arm, pretending she was in pain moments later. In the first episode, she calls the police because a mom was yelling at her. We all saw footage of the fight so her coming at Kelly and Kelly impulsively pushing her away somehow turned into some monstrous thing.
The moms did not get any financial payment for the first season. But I think they are being paid now, what makes me think this is that Holly gave up her job as a principal and Kelly is saying she is owed money in her lawsuit as they underpaid her as she worked more hours than stated in her contract.
These moms live through their kids. Just because they might not have had the life that the wanted, that doesn't mean that they should take their kids'.

It's honestly so sad to hear what has happened. Now, I can't truly pick a side because I wasn't there of course to witness anything and u can't believe everything u hear. Firstly, I always thought Chloe still danced there. But if u ever notice, I never see her go to Master classes. It's only Kendall, Maddie, Kenzie, and Nia, and so Abby stated those are the only girls who still take classes. It breaks my heart to see that there relationships with each other is basically gone. I hope Brooke and Paige will continue to do dancing and I'm sure Chloe will! The show Ik the fights are real but are put into situations sometimes that makes them mad. I just hope and pray that in previous seasons, that they enjoyed their dancing and were happier and that things will work out between them. You know, Abby ALWAYS makes a big deal about everything. Even when Cathy hit her in the face with her purse she was crying like a baby. Like Grow up Abby! I understand how you feel in this situation, but you came at her! And I'M PRETTY DARN SURE, you knew this was going to happen, and you had planned on picking on Kelly just to make things worse. To be honest, this is the first time I've seen her feel sorry for ANY of the kids, and give them credit for coming to class on Monday at 4:15. She usually doesn't care at all! In fact TILL THE END, she went back to mentioning how Maddie was crying. She has favorites and doesn't want to admit it.
and the mothers are jealous of Maddie (if i'm remembering the girls correctly. i, thankfully, quit watching this show some time ago. the mothers got on my nerves). there's always going to be that one kid who has a natural ability to shine at what they do. Maddie has that. the mothers are at fault for putting their kids in an alleged abusive environment. if they dislike how Abby runs 'her' studio they have the ability to walk out the door. they 'choose' to stay.
Did you see that Christi really did attack her? It was assault and although it doesn't seem fair, you don't put your hands one anyone, even if it is someone who can be as cruel as Abby, especially when there are children watching. It's horrible role modelling. And I think these girls will be better off elsewhere.

I watch the show for the kids, because I find them so incredibly talented. I could watch them rehearsing and dancing forever. The moms... I wish I could skip those parts, but it's hard with having to stream them (the show isn't available in my country or on netflix :( ).
So no, the conflicts and yelling are not what make it interesting.. it's the talent and hard work of those children! For me, I could go for eternity without having to listen to and/or watch adults screaming at each other in front of kids.

Yeah, but its the fighting that brought ratings to the show and why that seems to be the main focus lately. The first season was about the girls and their moms.They were adorable and even that young they were good. I, also tuned in to watch the girls dance. My problems with Abby is she thinks she's always right and she'll fight with just about anyone. When Abby shows up trouble follows. Kelly has wanted out of the show since Season 2 and the executive producers and Collin Street Production refused to allow them to leave, which is where all the bad blood comes from, if she left and took her daughters off the show, she would be in breach of contract and sue her for everything they owned. Same thing with Christi, Christi waited for the contract to expire. Kelly, Brooke and Paige were thrown off the show, so the producer broke the contract with her. Could she have sued them? Probably but she's wanted out far too long. The main issue for Kelly in the beginning was the long hours that these girls are put through. The final cut of each episode is 43 minutes but the filming of each episode is about 60 hours a week. She thought that was too much time and pressure for her daughters. Plus, the show, the executive producers and Abby Lee Dance Company also broke child labor laws; which is basically about the recent lawsuit filed by Paige (plus the physical and emotional abuse). That's the background for the fighting but it goes back even farther since Kelly was a former student.

Maddie and Mackenzie are home schooled and as far as I know other girls attend school. Chloe is an A student and very smart, she loves school and being able to socialize with her friends, which was why she didn't want to be home schooled. Brooke is also smart and gets straight A's. The other girls I don't know.

I love Abby Lee BUT the minute things get just a little bit physical (purse hitting, hair pulling, ect) She goes into little cry baby mode and calls for help from security or the police. She says she can take it, She may be able to take all the talk but she can't take the walk. As I said before though, I love Abby Lee.

I feel like a show that follows the Hylands and Chloe Lukasiak (or any of the original gilrls + Kendall) after they leave Abby's studio would do really well. I think that Abby forgets how much the fans really love the girls. Regardless of the many negative comments about Abby, what has to be said is that she has a very old school way of teaching. Her dancers are taught the upmost respect and in doing so, become very disciplined artists. Her way of teaching has been over shadowed due to political correctness, and is only found these days in country's such as Russia & China. I have to give credit to Abby for her success, and success of her dancers, because this is what it takes to train to be such a disciplined performer. I remember how my dance teachers were, and you cringe at how tough they were on us, the tears and pain,. But it's what made us the best in the game!

Abby said the story of what happened but didn’t mention the things that would make her look bad and ruin her reputation like telling Brooke to “grow the hell up” and doing all the things that she knows would piss Kelly off when she already wasn’t in the greatest mood during that competition/season. And it wasn’t just threatening to replace Brooke & Paige with Kalani, there were also many other terrible things that Abby did to her two kids that also contributed to the reason why she attacked her.

I feel so sorry for those kids=( To see all that violence during filming between their mamas and their dance teacher, its not healthy. Poor Maddie sounded like she was terrified after the fight with Kelly. Its also sad to hear not only Brooke and Paige aren’t there anymore but neither is Chloe. Maybe its better that way though because that means after the show, the drama can stop. They can lead normal stress free lives hopefully.

Abby went to the police 'cause a woman told her "Turn your phone off" and got a restraining order. She did the same thing with Cathy after she swung her purse against her arm, pretending she was in pain moments later. In the first episode, she calls the police because a mom was yelling at her. We all saw footage of the fight so her coming at Kelly and Kelly impulsively pushing her away somehow turned into some monstrous thing.

The moms did not get any financial payment for the first season. But I think they are being paid now, what makes me think this is that Holly gave up her job as a principal and Kelly is saying she is owed money in her lawsuit as they underpaid her as she worked more hours than stated in her contract.
These moms live through their kids. Just because they might not have had the life that the wanted, that doesn't mean that they should take their kids'.
I think there was more to that fight, I think with all the built up anger and anxiety Kelly had she finally lashed out, and you never know Abby might of said things to Kelly and her kids that they edited out, but overall I do see both sides, but also where Abby says that Kelly always pulls her kids out of their dances, that kinda makes me realize I think that's actually added in the show because I don't think Abby wants them to dance but they had to appear in the show cus of their contracts

It's honestly so sad to hear what has happened. Now, I can't truly pick a side because I wasn't there of course to witness anything and u can't believe everything u hear. Firstly, I always thought Chloe still danced there. But if u ever notice, I never see her go to Master classes. It's only Kendall, Maddie, Kenzie, and Nia, and so Abby stated those are the only girls who still take classes. It breaks my heart to see that there relationships with each other is basically gone. I hope Brooke and Paige will continue to do dancing and I'm sure Chloe will! The show Ik the fights are real but are put into situations sometimes that makes them mad. I just hope and pray that in previous seasons, that they enjoyed their dancing and were happier and that things will work out between them. Kelly hitting abby was not right but at the same time, I could see it as a self defense from abby's attack as well. Abby thinks she is teaching life values and trying to create justice, but she needs to realize that she is a 'dance' instructor, not a life teacher or philosopher.
