Tommy our wire on garage door broke too. It's not a real expensive fix. Repair man said NEVER ATTEMPT TO FIX YOURSELF. People have been seriously injured!!
This kind of stuff always happened all the time when my husband traveled with work and I had younger kids . I learned to do so much that I never dreamed I would . Me and God figured it out . Suggestion after you get it fully repaired buy you some garage door spray lubricant. I spray my two doors every 6 months . I taught my son and daughter stuff to Incase ... Hugs ❤
Take it to an autozone or one of those places where you can buy auto parts I know of folks who have had them check out if lights come on and they can tell you exactly what they mean for here in pennsylvanit's free

The best way to fix anything is to look on UA-cam
spray the pulls with WD 40
Just put it in reverse and stand on the gas. It will come out of there and then and then just buy a new garage door
