About Me:
My bio is pretty random: In short, I am a professional singer/songwriter from Toronto, Canada who moved to Manila, Philippines which sorta became my Hollywood because my first UA-cam channel MIKEYBUSTOSVIDEOS grew popular due to Filipino comedy videos. Meanwhile, I'm also a big biology geek who is obsessed with ants, so I built an internationally operating ant business supported by another popular channel called ANTSCANADA, and well basically, today I travel and tour around the world doing what I love so I wanted to start this vlogging channel, in hopes to encourage you guys to follow your dreams no matter how random, by showing you what happened when I followed mine! You just never know where life will take you when you listen to the yearnings of your heart!
RJ is the visionary and you are the opposing party. Like the table outside the door. He said an outdoor table would be a good addition but you doubt it at first then later on turns out great. Then the pool. You don’t want one at first but now you’re the one who often use it than him. 😆 Opposites do really attract! Which gives it the perfect balance. The Yin to his Yang ❤
A lounge chair would be perfect in your rooftop for star gazing. Dream!

Melody is so lucky to be there in the Mabuhay Farm House. She’s a happy and contented cat.
Just be glad RJ haven't discovered the joy of cactus and succulent collecting 😅 coz that's what I'm addicted to and there are so many varieties to choose from
🌵🌵🌵 Can Cactus Nopales grow in the Philippines? If they can, wait til you taste NOPALES dishes!! Yummy!!

The addiction is real. When I worked a garden center I would rescue them on a regular basis
Suggestion for your farm: Gather a supply box containing the basics that you know you're gonna forget. Grab yourselves some scissors, pruning shears, extra baskets, gardening gloves & a spray bottle for water. March this tool box straight out to that farm shed! You guys are always so well organized (we see you RJ 😉) so why should gardening be any different for ya's? You know some days you'll be on the farm side & be like, "Oh no! We need pruning shears the house is so far away we'll do it later." Then, you might get busy & forget. Cause, that's just how life honestly goes sometimes. Having it always in the shed ready for use & return it before you leave should help you to be more efficient & collect less spoiled food.🤞🍀
Ngl, seeing you'se finally growing your own real live food, in _your_ farm's soil, is _so_ amazing. Sincerely, congratulations guys. You've both dreamt of this day for so long. You fought to build your dream house during a frickin' pandemic, furry family members fighting drama, new editions to your family farm, loads of wonderful & a few wild & crazy visitors (both animals & humans alike). The overall happiness that you share with us is empowering. Seriously, even if we don't have all the riches in the world, we can *still* entertain our closest family & friends or grow our own veggies. Taking pride it what we can do. Even if when they grow in... they're a little ugly. OH! I'm talking about the veggies not the family growing in ugly. 😂😂
Thank you, for sharing your positive yet, not so "normal" everyday lives with us. Love you guys & I cannot wait to see your farm when she's all grown in & your lovingly swamped in lush greenery everywhere for as far as the eye can see! Maybe even some goat babies **Squeal*

That table looked fantastic there, great choice! You should get some outdoor lounge suites for the rooftop, be great to relax amongst the tree tops, I to have been growing cherry tomatoes, they are so delicious!! Great vlog as always Mikey, much love to you and RJ!❤

tisk tsk Mikey😆 Always trust RJ's vision lol He has proven his decorating eye over and over. Those cat scratchers are great, but we had to put a little catnip on it once or twice and our cat now rips them up and doesn't scratch anything else. Also a good way to tell with the peppers is if you lift them up against the way the stem is growing it will pop off. If its not ready it wont.

Me too! I can't wait to see their farm when it's _completely_ grown in & they're lovingly swamped in lush greenery everywhere for as far as the eye can see! Maybe, even some itty-bitty goat kids peeking out of that lush greenery? You know, as they eat their pathway to the people for pats & scratches **Squeal* 😂😂😂
Man I love this whole farm, all the updates, and all the new additions and features, ugh it just melts my heart with such envy lol it's truly a dream house...I love how excited you both get when adding something new and bringing in such beautiful taste of design, you both have such an eye for beautiful additions that just fit perfectly. The dining set fills the space nicely. It also makes sense because the grill is right there and it can be an outdoor extension for eating near the kitchen.

To get my cats to scratch the cardboard things , I put a little catnip in it and then I scratch it with my fingernails while they are there. That usually helps them learn what they’re for. 👍🏼 The table looks great there and you can just enjoy the scenery in the shade . Tats what tomatoes are supposed to taste like,hothouse tomatoes don’t taste like anything. 🤢
You might keep an eye on the snails in your fountain, they are very prolific and can plug your filters.
I’m ready to move in! You’ll never even notice my 5 kids and our 4 cats…I promise 😂

you can eat the peppers green, they are not quite ripe but have a sharper fresher taste, some people prefer it. Once ripe they have a sweeter taste. I personally prefer my Jalapenos green, but I prefer my bell peppers ripe! Proud of you Farmer Mikey! Doing a good job!
RJ is so multitalented!
Mikey, the black spot in your tomato is blossom end rot. It happens when your plant does not have enough calcium. Rain leaches calcium away from the soil, especially if you plant in containers.
Also, most of your plants belong to the same family (nightshade): tomatoes, chili peppers & eggplant, so they will use up the same minerals.
Hope this helps.
PS. Try Sungold cherry tomatoes.

I live in San Diego and you’ll see that almost all SoCal homes have an outdoor dining area. We have a built in island just like what you’d have in a kitchen that seat 10 people next to the BBQ/stove area. The island has two side by side refrigerators which is very convenient. It’s great for entertaining and sometimes breakfasts on beautiful Sunday mornings. So…I’m glad RJ placed that beautiful dining table right outside your kitchen. It makes sense. I also think you won’t have to worry about getting the chairs dirty since they’re under a covered “patio”.
Grilled eggplant is more yummy than boiled for ensalada.
Not sure with plants but in our university they put dried leaves at the bottom of the trees, they say it prevents ants from climbing to the top

You have one of the most sustaining farm house for both you and your pets, not to mention a gorgeous house, with everything you need for survival. Your larger tomatoes are called heirloom tomatoes and so juicy and tasty. Enjoy making torta talong so good with rice...yummy!

I love the outdoor dining set because when you guys have pool parties like the one you just had, you have extra seating outside. And it also looks so nice there! It matches the area perfectly. RJ has an eye for details like that.
I love homegrown cherry tomatoes. They are so tasty. Can’t wait till Mommy Bustos arrives to enjoy everything. Sprinkling cinnamon powder or sticking cinnamon sticks in the planters may help minimize the ants

Dang son, better get to the kitchen and crack some eggs. You got tortang talong for free haha! It’s also really good as a sandwich if you want to skip rice. ;)

Those tomatoes look heirloom ! And heirloom tomatoes look different from regular tomatoes! Heirlooms taste way better😋😋😋

*Mickey I have talong(eggplant recipe) we love to eat here in Bicol and I'm sure you'll also love it. Jist grill the raw eggplant til its skin is charred then mash the flesh along with coconut milk, calamansi, strip of red onion and tomatoes. You'll love it for sure! ☺️*
You know what would be cool, if you got a cat collar camera that they have online and record some of Melody's daily activity to see where she patrols and what she gets into. i bet you could get some cool and fun videos "CatCam"

The dining table outside is in the perfect spot! It’s a great place to have dinner outside so it makes sense to have it next to the kitchen. Realistically you’re not going to carry a bunch of food to the roofdeck unless you have a big party. It’ll get more use downstairs.

Air conditioning units won’t work if you block their airflow. At the bare minimum, you should have at least one foot (12”) of space on each side of your outdoor air conditioning unit. That said, some AC manufacturers suggest that you have at least two feet (24”) of clearance on all sides. If you don’t they will not work and could get damaged.

Very nice garden/ farming area
Did you know that you can eat the Scooby?? With the tomatoes you need to stem them out lesser stems those with no tomatoes can go, so the plant can put more water and care in the tomatoes and not the leaves without anything.

When you pull the tomato from the vine and it doesn’t come off easily it means the tomato is not yet ready for picking. Vine ripened tomatoes are the best.

U can plant kangkong on your plant box so u can harvest for your pet animals
Love the dining set idea! I feel you can get something with more of an earthy/wood color palette. Seems like grey/white gets lost in the color of the floor and curtains in the background. But gorgeous nonetheless!!!

Suggestion for the storage area. CREATE A MURAL OF UR FARM ANIMALS
You van eat the leaves of mulberry too. It's good to saute with garlic

Were the birds in the aviary when they were adding the plants? I didn’t see any flying! Ooh maybe add a hammock on the rooftop deck in the awning area, maybe add weights to some curtains to hold them down when you don’t want them to blow in the wind? Your house is beautiful, RJ is amazing at decorating the house! Is he an interior designer?
