The only place she seems to be lip syncing at is when she sings the 'easy' highnote at the end. You can hear her voice slowly go quieter before the note and then the track is what we hear for the highnote but the next highnote, she sings live.

Mimi’s extra rap bars really adds an even more badass touch to checkmate. While I’m bummed this will probably be the only performance of checkmate we see on tv, I’m still waiting for the day where the whole group performs this masterpiece. Man i have been waiting for a Checkmate stage since this was released last yr. They were supposed to have a concert this year after the comeback promotions. I also think they are to perform Checkmate, there's no way they wouldn't. However because of the pandemic, we might have to wait for the concert a little while (hope they push through with it later this yr or next yr). So this is the closest performance of Checkmate we have for now ♥️
Only true miracles deserve this, bandwagon fans should leave lol

Honestly the show didn't make them justice, this is probably one of the best performances OMG has ever given. YooA and Mimi easily dominate 80 percent of the currently active girl groups just with the 2 of them.
They dominated Queendom as a whole group and this performance as a duo. Too bad they didn't win.
I think it just came down to preference. There’s was upbeat and happy while ailee and sleeq did a slow, sad song.

They love us so much, we don’t deserve them. Plus, Mimi’s new rap lines are sick, lit and dope, it’s on top of her game! Yooa as Mimi’s main vocalist, praise her vocals, don’t sleep on them. Lastly, I hope this will be an eye opener or for their CEO to put more trust on Mimi and Yooa (MiYoo) as a Duo. He may not debut them officially as a Duo for the next Oh My Girl sub-unit but at least give them a duo song on their next comeback. Just look at them go. They totally slayed. But I honestly think, if their Black Label concert happened maybe they we’re going to give us this performance! 🔥

mimi is an EXTREMELY underrated rapper!! you can tell when someone is natural to hip hop/rap and aren’t just a trained idol rapper
and yooa’s vocals?! i know she lip synced a lot of the performance but that’s because it was a dance based performance and she puts more emphasis on her dancing, being that she’s a main dancer. she still recorded the back track on her own!! she’s definitely main vocal material 🤩
Members even once mentioned during trainee years Mimi has that rapper look/vibe with that rapper style haircut. Mimi even said she wore clothes during those time that will tell others she is a rapper 😁

But then again, winning against Ailee is always going to be very difficult.
@@Nineiseverything I think the concept of using a stick and a combination of half masculine half feminine clothing in black and white is fantastic (well, not surprising, they are Concept Fairies). But yeah it seems they don't have enough time to practice. Moreover, because we, Miracle, are too familiar with Oh My Girl's extraordinary appearance at Queendom, our standards for "extraordinary" maybe are quite high. Still, a dope stage performance!

Yooa showed that she’s the main dancer of OH MY GIRL but she also gave us VOCALS and I mean powerhouse vocals at that and I’m surprised she’s not a main vocal because that was EVERYTHING. As for Mimi she ATE and that’s on period! She seriously went off and slayed the hell out of her rap. Like her company needs to give her more opportunities as a rapper because she’s so good it’s insane
Ummm it's as if you're saying Hyojung and Seunghee aren't enough as Main Vocals when the two of them are already very much capable and they have a wide range too, dare I say the both of them are much fitting as main vocals since their voices sounds great in most pop songs, especially Seunghee. Yooa is great as a lead vocal and she actually has a fairy amount of lines and vocally impressive lines IN MANY OMG SONGS. There are even times when she takes a decent amount of lines.

Yassss, and that only proved that OMG is such a strong girl group. If Yooa, Binnie, and Jiho are placed on other groups, they'd probably given the main vocals title. The 3 of them are that great, but for OMG song type and range, Hyojung and Seunghee fit the main vocals the best. Nevertheless, stan OMG y'all :3

Main vocals are main vocals not just because of vocal ability otherwise a lot of idols should be main vocals in their groups right now.
Main vocal roles are given to those whose vocals fit a group's theme and songs the most. That's why Yooa is a lead vocal, because her voice isn't something that's utilized like a main vocal in OMG songs. If placed with other groups, she could probably be a main vocal depending on the concept.
I've known omg since debut days and I've seen how they utilize their vocals through the years. They treat Binnie and Yooa as sort of their altos.
