question: i am a singer. what happens if the rest of band (eg guitars, drums) play through amps and speakers, which means they are not part of a mixing board. how would in ear monitors work for a singer?
A good question. It would be pretty difficuly as you'd have no control over the band in the mix. I'd say if you've not got mics on anything else then in ears will cause you more problems than they solve. Unless the only problem you have is that everything is too loud and you can't hear the vocals
Thank you for the response! yes i can't hear my vocals during practice, and so i am considering IEM to hear myself better. Any tips on how to use IEM as a singer, if the rest of the band is not mic'd up? @@OffshoreAudio

probably add a couple of ambient mics so you get a reference
